feralranger said:...well, we find ourselves circling back to this issue simply because some people lack basic discernment. It’s quite similar to when you attempt to provide someone with fundamental mathematical instructions; the problem lies in the fact that certain individuals fail to grasp the glaringly obvious distinction between erotic love and philia within the Homo sapiens sapiens species.
In the sphere of philia, most people aren't prone to jealousy or possessiveness—> for the most part, they don't insist on a monopoly over their partner.
In the erotic sphere, however, most people are inherently jealous and exclusive—> they generally demand a strictly 'monogamous' arrangement.
It isn't truly a matter of "complex mathematics," yet somehow, it remains an impossibly complicated concept for some.

But... you know how those movies go. There's always a plot twist... suddenly he gets an erection, hard as a rock, standing as rigid as a soldier on parade, while you're banging your head against the wall. The neighbors will just assume someone's having a late-night party again...
P.S. Not even a fresh batch of calamari from the fridge is going to help there.
But would she actually be happy about it? In that classic Noah Moore way?
I imagine the folks over at Ikea would be rubbing their hands together every time these guys try to assemble furniture.

Spice things up a little and imagine those two people are "him" and "her." She’s your absolute best friend—the one who literally saved your life once, like that time you were both kids stealing candy at the grocery store and she stepped up and took the fall for you. And he? He’s the love of your life, your soulmate, the guy who understands you even when you're dead wrong. He's so handsome it's criminal, and frankly, so attractive you'd want to keep him under lock and key just to keep other women from even glancing his way.
Then, on some miserable, rainy afternoon, you come home after an exhausting day at work and... there they are. The two of them, sweating and half-dressed, struggling through assembling an Ikea wardrobe together. It isn't quite the romantic scene you might have pictured...
Or maybe they had a quick tryst in the office restroom, and decided, "Let's keep this our little secret." Fortunately, the most nosy coworker in the entire firm happened to walk in, forcing them to scramble. Once their conscience kicked in, they decided to just flush that secret away down the toilet! If anyone asks, a button just popped off her blouse!
Has anyone ever dared to tell Dunda to get rid of that Tapatalk signature?!

My question was about this situation where a friend admits her boyfriend was hitting on her, but she turned him down—only telling me about it much later because she wasn't sure how to handle it. So, what's the move?

If it were my ex, I’d probably let them stay for free—I mean, really—but they just won't 🤷

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging or being self-righteous about it. It’s more about those heavy moments when I see my son’s sadness, for instance, because his dad couldn't make it out for a bike ride due to exhaustion. He was really looking forward to us all riding together. That's just one small example from a long list. Honestly, I feel like I'm failing at every turn, constantly feeling like I'm falling short as a parent.
The biggest waves of judgment and criticism usually hit when I mention that I went to the coast with my ex-wife. 😁.
I can already see the backlash starting here, too.

The real dilemma, I suppose, is how one manages to align those two timelines.
electricscout15 said:Yeah, I spent a long time thinking, "Whatever, I'll just get married to the first guy who comes along later," but here I am at 33, and honestly? I'm glad. I'm actually really happy things turned out this way because now I have so much more confidence, self-awareness, and actual opportunities for some cool adventures—rather than being, say, totally single and wild in my 20s only to end up having kids in my 40s. Plus, I feel like since I'm older, marriage feels almost unnecessary now, unless it's for something specific, I guess, like protecting assets or inheritance or something like that 🤷
