Has anyone here actually gone (or is planning to go) to their training sessions over at B&M in Philadelphia? I’m honestly having a bit of a mental tug-of-war about it—on paper, it sounds absolutely incredible, and the facility itself looks stunning, but the price tag is definitely giving me pause. I'm trying to figure out if it's actually worth the premium or if I'm just being swayed by a fancy atmosphere.
I honestly don't see why people are making such a massive deal out of this—it’s just one movie. I mean, sure, the cinematography was decent enough, but let's be real: the plot had more holes than a cheap pair of jeans. It felt like they spent the entire budget on lighting and forgot to actually hire a decent screenwriter. I remember sitting through a similar disaster back in Chicago a few years ago—some indie flick that tried way too hard to be "deep"—and this gave me that exact same sense of wasted time. It’s frustrating when you go in with even a shred of hope and end up feeling like you just sat through a two-hour lecture on nothingness. Honestly, save your money. kaže: Has anyone actually made it out to the Sundance Film Festival lately? I’m curious—what was the lineup like this year? Were the films any good, or just more of the same pretentious stuff?
I didn't make it—it’s just too far for me, and honestly, the ticket prices were a bit steep to begin with. But the real kicker? The absolute dealbreaker? I couldn't even get my vacation days approved at work. It's just one of those things. 😬 To me, it honestly feels like the most powerhouse lineup in the entire country—it's easily the strongest festival we have going on.
Good grief, you guys really went after her! The topic was how to size up a shoe—not taking shots at me because I bought them too small.
Honestly, I probably would have done the exact same thing; it was such a solid deal 😁that in the end, you can just gift them to someone else or, like you said, give them to Mom🙂.
Jose Howard10 said:Has anyone here ever used that private lab over in Brooklyn (near the Octagon) for blood work? I’m curious to hear what the vibe is like there. So far, my experiences at Breyer have been pretty decent, but since I’m living in Brooklyn, this place would be way more convenient for me.
I was actually just about to start a thread regarding the Brooklyn facility—though I didn't want to drop the actual name just so people wouldn't think I was running some kind of advertisement 😳 )
I'm mostly interested in the pricing—I'm assuming it fluctuates depending on what specific tests you're looking for 😁 but if someone could give me at least a ballpark figure... thanks 🙂
northerncrane4 said:Maybe it's just my paranoia talking, but honestly, nobody actually benefits from educating the public. There’s zero incentive to produce a single decent series because once you raise the bar, the audience starts demanding quality—and that creates massive headaches. You have people out there who actually know what they're doing, but if you want them, you have to pay them fairly.
It isn't paranoia—I think we can just call it Capitalism in the US and our reality. 😁 As for the whole "fair pay" debate, even those who actually possess talent (and frankly, even some who don't) are pulling in disproportionate amounts compared to other industries right now. So maybe the money itself isn't the core issue; instead, given what they're already getting, they should be working twice as hard for the same paycheck. But, of course, nobody is willing to put in that kind of effort.
northerncrane4 said:TV networks actually have the potential to produce great series—which, let's be honest, is the global trend anyway, with TV outperforming movies in terms of pure quality—but the opportunity just isn't being taken. It’s not for lack of trying; it’s because they won't. CBS is far too sensitive to any public backlash that deviates from their established patterns, leaving them constantly tripping over themselves; meanwhile, the current editors in the Drama Program shouldn't even dare to breathe a word of dissent. FOX thinks the absolute peak of television is "Our Little Clinic" and some endless loop of Zora. As for FOX, they're just stingy—it's much more profitable for them to churn out a few more seasons of Big Brother or Forbidden Love and call it a day once they hit those comfortable ratings numbers.
Everything you said is spot on😢 , though I suspect with the latter group, it isn't just about being cheap. You could technically make some pretty solid stuff within those budget constraints, but from what I've heard, they simply don't have the talent pool for high-end production. Plus, the audience isn't exactly demanding, so why bother? It's a shame, really. If they actually teamed up to produce higher-quality content—movies, series, especially commercials—they might actually educate the public. But as long as they keep feeding people garbage, all they'll ever produce is garbage. It sells better, and frankly, it's cheaper.
I honestly don't see why people make such a big deal out of this—it’s just basic common sense, really. I was sitting there at a Starbucks in downtown Chicago yesterday, just minding my own business, when I overheard this guy trying to argue that the current regulations aren't "strict enough." Not strict enough? Give me a break. It’s like he hasn't even read the fine print on the latest federal guidelines. It’s the same old story every single time—people want the benefits of a structured system without actually following the rules that keep the whole thing from collapsing. I mean, look at how things are handled in most major US cities lately; it's a mess because everyone wants a shortcut. A shortcut! As if life is some kind of fast-track game. Honestly, it’s exhausting to listen to these endless, circular debates that lead absolutely nowhere. We need stability, not more constant tinkering from people who clearly don't understand the foundation we're building on. Just a thought. kaže: If you're looking for clothing geared toward curvier women, there’s this boutique tucked away in a walkway off Fifth Avenue—right near that Hilfiger shoe store. 🙂
Wait, is that Iva Todoric on the poster? Seriously? 😬

I was honestly under the impression there was some sort of "Giant Size" department for women where we could just get everything done in one single shop... what a dream that would be!
Hmm, there’s something over on Broadway, but honestly? It looks way too oversized for my taste... check it out before you take her there, because you don't want to accidentally offend her—that style looks absolutely massive to me.😁 The shop is right after you pass that place near the old pharmacy on the right side (if you're heading toward downtown), and you can't miss it...
Larry Martin11 said:...so, you're going? 😍 ...well, if nothing else, enjoy Winterbottom's work for both of us 🙂 😘
I wasn't talking about myself 🙂 If I ever manage to escape this capitalist nightmare, it’ll just be for one night—and purely because of Dukic 😍 Winterbottom absolutely wrecked me four years ago; I'm good, thanks, no more 😁 . But Hundstage is a solid recommendation if you haven't seen it yet (if I recall correctly) 🙂 Fingers crossed you manage to get away regardless 👍
Larry Martin11 said:@Jose Chase2 ...but there were just way too many applications... 400 people fighting over 40 spots... plus, those who volunteered in previous years always got the upper hand...
Look, I’m not trying to rub it in, but you don't even realize how right you actually are 😢—it's simple, really. Everyone who knows the right people—the ones running the show—gets the edge. 😬
neonhound32 said:The test was actually pretty interesting. Personally, I found the way the audience responded across different segments quite fascinating. Are typos really such a big deal—are they honestly that stupid? 😲
But what do you actually think—are they just simple typos? 😬
I’ve been dealing with my fair share of stomach acid issues lately—usually just knocking it back with some Pepcid or Tums, or if things are really hitting the fan, a little baking soda.
The other day at CVS, my pharmacist gave me a single piece of advice amidst a sea of clinical nonsense regarding acid reflux: apparently, I should start my mornings by drinking half a squeezed lemon mixed into a bit of lukewarm water.👍 Now, I’m sure some self-proclaimed health guru is going to jump into the comments and trash this "recipe" like it’s some kind of dangerous pseudoscience😬 but honestly? It actually works for me. In fact, during those stretches where I actually have the discipline to stick to it, my acid problems pretty much vanish...🙂
Just a quick update for everyone—I started taking birth control, and I’m currently heading into my third month on Yasmine. Honestly? No weight gain, no skin breakouts—nothing. The only noticeable change is that my chest has filled out just a tiny bit (going from a 32A to maybe a 32A and a half 😬), and I’ve finally stopped needing to reach for painkillers 🙂))
Now, if only I could quit smoking... which is incredibly frustrating because one part of me is desperate to stop, while the other part isn't quite ready to let go. But, that’s a whole different conversation altogether . Anyway, regarding those monthly cramps—long live modern contraception 🙂

🤣 👍
To me, it seems like both movies lean much more toward a male audience—I mean, as long as it’s a cool flick that both guys and girls can enjoy, it works—but let's be real, male hormones just react to Tarantino way more than female ones do. 😁
Give me a break—what is wrong with you? That movie is pure metrosexual fluff; there is absolutely nothing "manly" about it. 😁
If you want to talk about movies that are unapologetically masculine, you have to look at The Getaway, the entire Russo Meyer catalog, Scarface, those Sergio Leone classics, and Cobra. That’s the real deal right there. 😁Payback, Dirty Harry, The Heat... and all that good stuff. 😁
