Ashley Bailey75 said:I can't decide what bugs me more—when they hit you with that patronizing "just you wait and see" tone, acting like I have zero clue what's coming, or that sneaky little "teehee, you won't be getting any sleep tonight" vibe. Like it's some grand prize, when really I'll just end up pissed off, exhausted, and running on fumes.

People are straight-up psychos. 👏

I truly, deeply don't get the need for this kind of talk. 🙏
To be fair, I haven't actually run into those specific comments yet—probably because my baby bump isn't showing enough for people to take me seriously... but once it does, they're going to hear from me.

People are absolute lunatics. 👏

🤣 🤣
There’s nothing quite as grating as being bombarded with unsolicited advice that basically suggests I shouldn't bother living my life at all.
Today was a particularly stellar example of this:
"Don't walk too fast, you'll do more harm than good"
"Avoid eating cookies—you have to watch out for salmonella" (as if I haven't been enjoying my treats without issue for years)
"The fifth month is when things get really risky"😲 🤔 (and that came from the very same person who was lecturing me about my walking pace)🤷

Awesome, thanks!
Hey guys, where can I pick up some small decor pieces for my house and church here in San Francisco?
I'm also on the hunt for some artificial roses or something along those lines.
Thanks 😁

swiftsailor32 said:No, actually, I headed straight back to San Francisco to visit La Perla after my trip to Sinj. Once you've experienced one genuine La Perla dress, everything else just feels incredibly cheap and tacky, haha.
That said, the selection in Sinj is actually fantastic, and all three boutiques are right near you. Mila, Annmarie, and I—well, I think it's Joseph, though I can't be entirely certain about the third person's name—all swear by them.
What I was rambling about earlier was the $2,500 price tag. $1000 And from what I've gathered, even the cost of a dress seems to fluctuate based on when you plan to wear it; I'm still trying to wrap my head around why they'd factor timing into the price.

That's great, thanks so much for the help with these details, Hvalaaaaaaa 👍

swiftsailor32 said:I'm not sure how much of a trek it is for you to head up toward Sinj, but you could find much better deals there; I actually stumbled upon some gorgeous gowns up that way priced around $2,500.
But honestly, your budget really depends on what you're actually looking for.
For instance, I found some much pricier dresses at Lipoto than what I saw at La Perla, yet La Perla absolutely blew me away with their professionalism compared to the experience at Lipoto.

I was actually planning on heading up that way since I heard the prices were decent.
Wait, is La Perla located in Sinj?

David King72 said:Oh, bless your heart, if you head over to the area near the pier, from what I know, they’re actually among the more affordable options. Honestly, I have no clue about any of the others, but that's where I picked up mine—well, $1000 I think I actually rented it,
if I recall correctly.

fala, thanks so much, I'll definitely check it out!

Hey, does anyone have a recommendation for a bridal salon in San Francisco? Ideally somewhere that won't completely break the bank.
I wouldn't mind renting a dress, too.
Justin Allen81 said:Man, I just thought of Grandma from a few days ago, good grief.🙏

I was taking my daughter to ballet class—the bus was packed, and we were standing right by the front doors. Thank God I’m huge right now, 36 weeks along, and while nobody offered a seat, the standing part wasn't even the main issue until the bus filled up and it became a total crush.
So, there’s this lady standing right next to us.
Some gentleman gets up and offers her his seat. She just stares at him like she’s lost—doesn't say yes, doesn't say no—and that seat stays empty for two stops.
After those two stops, I see the woman hasn't moved an inch. I told my daughter to take the seat because there seriously wasn't any room left to even stand, and between the massive bump and trying to make sure my kid didn't wipe out in the crowd, I was struggling to keep my balance.
And then, of course...
The second the kid sits down, the woman lunges for the seat. Coincidentally, a seat opens up right behind us, so I move over to let her in and ask, "Ma'am, would you like to sit down?"
And get this—she starts screaming like a maniac: "I WANTED THAT SEAT, BUT SINCE THE CHILD HAS TO SIT BECAUSE SHE'S HAVING A HARDER TIME, FINE! SHAME ON YOU!!!"
I told her, look, ma'am, you had two whole stops to sit down and you didn't, and it's hard for me to manage my child and stay upright, but there's a seat right there behind you.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN TWO STOPS? ARE YOU CRAZY?" she yells, and then the woman actually elbows me right in the stomach!!🙏

I honestly couldn't believe it.🙏

I was in such shock I didn't even know how to react, especially when five people behind her started yelling at her—calling her out for being disgraceful, for the sheer rudeness, for fighting with a pregnant woman on a public bus, etc. People actually started standing up so I could sit.🤣 The woman bolted to the other end of the bus.🤣

What a scene... You could tell she was just standing there, hovering, waiting for someone to sit in "her" spot just so she could cause a scene—that's why she didn't take the seat earlier...

Now that I've lived through this, I feel like I can handle anything.🤣

🙏
I would have chewed her out.
Such a rude old woman.
placidtinker31 said:So, why is a single glass of beer or wine strictly off-limits during pregnancy?
Or why can't you just eat whatever you're craving? 🤷

This is my third pregnancy, and honestly, I’ve never once bothered checking what's considered "forbidden"...

The second I realized I was pregnant, I crossed alcohol off my list immediately; even my partner wouldn't let me have a celebratory toast. I spent a good chunk of time worrying if I’d already done some damage to the baby because I’d had a few drinks right at the very beginning before I knew.

I’m just waiting for my doctor to give me the green light at my next checkup, telling me I can have a drink or smoke if I were a smoker (which I'm not).
Once that happens, I'll happily enjoy a little glass of wine after lunch when the craving hits. I don't have much of a thirst for beer right now, but I'm sure that'll change once the weather gets warmer.
Staying disciplined and sticking to just one drink isn't really an issue for me.

Anyway, what's really getting to me is the nausea and the constipation.
My stomach hasn't even started acting up yet, and I'm not listening to any of those old wives' tales; once people start coming at me with that unsolicited advice, I'm just going to shut them down pretty quickly. :d:
What kind of people are we actually dealing with here? 🙏
I’m honestly sitting here just waiting for them to start hitting me with those ridiculous questions; I suppose I'll have plenty to say once they do. 🙂
☕
Look, I’m certainly no medical expert, but my common sense tells me that if those walks are making you feel better, you should absolutely keep at it.
As long as you're dressed right—meaning good layers and keeping your limbs covered—I don't see any issue at all.

Honestly, I have no idea what is going on with people lately.🙄
And just to be clear, I’m not talking about you; I’m talking about the people feeding you all this nonsense.

Plus, anyone with a compromised immune system is naturally more prone to catching colds or dealing with inflammation, and since physical activity actually helps build up your immunity, I don't think there's much of a debate to be had regarding whether walking is a good idea or not.

Since you mentioned having asthma, though, it might be worth having a quick chat with your doctor just so you can have that peace of mind.

On a brighter note, congrats on dropping those pounds. It’s always a great feeling when you finally start seeing the results of your hard work, isn't it?👍

Lawrence Bailey77 said:well, if we were to 😁

then I suppose one should apply that logic to everyone else equally... wouldn't that be fair? 😵

It actually strikes me as perhaps the finest piece of advice or life philosophy one could encounter... though I'm likely just being self-deprecating here.. 🕺

Respect to Jim T. 👍

I recall a rather profound perspective shared by a young woman I spoke with once—it was only for about two hours, mind you—but her insight was immensely helpful during that particular stretch of my life. I suppose I owe her a debt of gratitude.

After listening to me ramble for a bit, she offered something that, while not directly addressing my specific circumstances, resonated on a much deeper level. I won't linger on the details, though..

"Looking backward brings nothing but guilt" (regret and all that nonsense)
"Looking forward brings only fear" (that creeping anxiety, doubt, and wondering what might happen next)
"Stay in the present" .. being fully aware of who and where you are.. right now.

Those were her words, though this is merely my own interpretation after roughly fifteen years of reflecting on them. Still, I believe it's worth passing along.

Cheers.👍

🙂
I really like how she explained things.

Andrew Price3 said:Zablua: The past doesn't follow us. We follow it.
It’s worth remembering: whatever we did back then, we did the best we could given our perspective and options at that exact moment. Or, more simply, we acted on what we believed was the most effective way to get what we thought we needed right then.
So, it isn't an error. There is no such thing as an error in isolation.
The only reason guilt exists is because your current consciousness is clashing with how you perceived that action at the time. Of course you feel "guilty"; or more accurately, it’s only natural that you "realize" the weight of that past action... but there's no need for actual guilt.

The purpose of guilt isn't to punish. The purpose of guilt is to teach us how to forgive ourselves. At the time, we simply didn't know better. If we had, we wouldn't have done it. Right?

👏
Ronald Jones said:Yes, and honestly, that’s easier said than done. But once you finally manage to grant yourself that forgiveness and decide to move forward with your life... that's really all there is to it. 🙂

It's tough if we don't make a firm decision to do it. We stubbornly cling to what happened. For what reason?
😁Are we actually terrified of that liberating realization—the weight of taking full responsibility when you finally have freedom without anything left to cling to?

Here are a few things to chew on: 😁

David Green11 said:Now, where on earth am I supposed to find that button? 🤷

In your own consciousness.
Just decide that it doesn't matter to you anymore.

I feel like I’m turning into some sort of preacher here. 😲

Give yourself a break.
Maria Fisher46 said:Look, when a lab report mentions "some bacteria" in the context of "physiological flora," it basically means they picked up a few microbes in the swab that are actually just part of the normal ecosystem living in the vaginal tract, sometimes extending to the cervix. Usually, we're talking about species from the Lactobacillus genus, though you might see smaller amounts of others, like Bacteroides.

Having an elevated white blood cell count is generally a sign that there’s some sort of inflammation or infection going on.

That said, the main takeaway here is that the results are within the normal range, which is what really matters.

Thanks for clearing that up!
I had a cervical swab done to check for aerobic and anaerobic bacteria.

The microbiology report came back saying: some bacteria, rare leukocytes. Physiological flora.

The nurse told me the results look fine. Still, I’m curious about what they mean by "some bacteria"—like, what kind of bacteria are we talking about here? 🤷
And if anyone could explain why there would be leukocytes mentioned in a report like this?

Thanks!

Thanks for that.
So, should I be asking my primary care doctor for a referral, or is it actually their job to set that up for me?
What is an organized hematoma? in Health ·
Hey there.

So, I went in for an ultrasound last week to check out this swelling I’ve been dealing with. It’s been there for several years now, ever since I took a bit of a tumble. For the most part, it hasn't changed size at all over the years.
The doctor who saw me mentioned it isn't a tumor, but rather just an organized hematoma.

I haven't had a chance to run this by my own primary care physician yet because they're away on vacation, so I was wondering if anyone knows whether a hematoma like this actually needs any kind of treatment or removal?
Hey there, I have a quick question regarding stool analysis for parasites.

What specific types of parasites does that test actually cover?
