Just spent some time reading up on ORS—Oral Rehydration Solution. It’s basically a drink meant to get your electrolytes back in balance when you're dealing with stomach flu or bad diarrhea. You can actually whip up a basic version right in your kitchen. All you need is half a teaspoon of salt, six level teaspoons of sugar, and a liter of water to mix it all in. Some sources suggest eight teaspoons of sugar, but I read somewhere that too much sugar might actually make the diarrhea worse.
The trick is to sip it slowly, especially if your stomach is totally rejecting everything you try to eat.

I also came across a note saying this basic mix is missing potassium, which is another huge electrolyte. To fix that, one recipe suggests adding a teaspoon of baking soda and about half a cup of orange juice, then topping it off with water until you hit a liter.

I haven't tested this out myself, so do your own digging if you search for "homemade rehydration."

Elvis Presley, man, that’s just how I live my life.

Wait, don't mothers usually hang out together in threads like "It's Time to Move"? Chalice said it, Barrett said it. Don't make me go digging through old links...

Look, man, if you didn't dig the movie, then whatever. It works just fine as a cheap social comedy for one crowd, and as a parody or satire for another. You want to call it some high-concept postmodernist thing? Fine by me. Sounds fancy!😎

To Cashier is a straight-up masterpiece! It’s my absolute favorite American movie, even if I won't claim it's objectively the most important one ever made. But I will say it's high quality, and I stand by that.

Matanic does such a killer job mocking those typical American social dramas, parodying them until they reach Alan Ford levels of absurdity. Haha, just endless gray skies, rain, mud, late-night gunfire in the suburbs, a rat in the fridge hiding among the cheese and sausages, a secret window tucked behind Harmon's portrait, Barica getting up at 3 AM to chop wood and fry breakfast for the kid while wearing old rags, the neighbor being a total drunk, everyone stealing from the local deli, and that poor mailman constantly getting beaten up... Hahahaha! Pure Alan Ford! That sauerkraut detail is heavy! Or when Drago Diklić shows up at the end of the song to belt out the finale! Zaaakon. And then you've got the women pushing the car while Miljenko just stands there watching!

Man, I could write entire articles about this movie! It's total madness.

But look, we clearly have some idiots out there who don't get it, or people who judge the whole thing based on a single scene and decide the movie sucks. If they actually understood the context, that scene would have them rolling on the floor. If they just understood complex concepts like parody, irony, sarcasm, and satire... But of course, they wouldn't know any of that since they haven't seen any of our films; they only watch big-budget Hollywood motion pictures. Total peasants.

Uau, this thread is awesome!
Man, if there was a cooperative involved, it would’ve been legendary. But honestly, having Green Day on the lineup is more than enough reason to head out to Small Town, USA. Plus, you've got Miles Davis and his disciples! These rappers kind of dilute the vibe a little bit, but whatever, let them have their moment.

Why even be surprised? Nele’s been proving himself a total scumbag when it comes to politics for a long time now.

But seriously, I’m shocked nobody brought up Ay Carmelo. Especially that Rundek cover. Man, what a track!

John Bonham

50 depth, 60 controversy, 58 talent

With a solid dose of talent and just enough grit, you're definitely channeling John Bonham. Digging the hair.
I’m going with Indianapolis. For the first case—Wile E. Coyote, Satan, and, obviously, Mother.
Such a tiny town, yet it produced three cult classics.
