Deepa? You mean Depp? Better than Depp? Not a chance... at least not in this flick... which is a total letdown

Yeah... I bet that porcelain tooth played a part in messing up his tone, too...

Watched it last week... It's good. I wouldn't say it has that Depp or Michael Jackson vibe... Didn't pick up on any weird creepy undertones either. Before all that, it's just perfectly sarcastic... some little spoiled brat... I actually dig the morbid way they eliminate people.

It’s not really a "movie" in the traditional sense—there isn't much of a plot or deep characters. I’d call it an experience. For me, it perfectly captures that headspace of someone totally bored with their mundane life, just desperate for some action, excitement, or a real adventure...
In my view, the film nails that feeling. That’s what it delivers—an atmosphere.

Watching The Beach was a trip, especially that soundtrack. 🙏

Agreed... though the book was way better. It captures the mental state more accurately. The book digs deeper into Duffy and the general decay of paradise... plus that whole video game sequence from the movie wasn't really there in the book.👎

Give me a break... I could throw some songs together for a movie and call it a soundtrack.
Real art is actually composing original music specifically for the film.

Agreed...
Hans Zimmer - The Big Blue soundtrack...
Also - the score for Alien (1, 2, and 3) hits the mark perfectly.

I can't believe how many of you fell for that "stupid coincidence" theory about Fahrenheit 9/11 airing on September 11th.
Clearly, nobody here is actually informed.
The Twin Towers attack happened on September 11th. In the US, they don't write dates like we do; it's month first, then day—September the eleventh.
So cut the crap.
The issue isn't that you don't understand their date format (which is trivial), it's that you don't even realize when one of the biggest events in history actually took place...
Kudos to ABC for airing the documentary. On the actual date.

Are you a little confused? Who said anything about the date being September 9th? We all know how Americans write dates... I have no idea what you're even trying to say.

Go ahead, take another look... I don't know about you... but I'm pretty sure there are parts of that movie a 12-year-old wouldn't even grasp...

The Big Blue🙏
What’s wrong with Taxia? Aside from that, I don't think he was even cutting anyone off... personally, I found the movie pretty fun. Honestly, a lot of the jokes just get lost in translation when you move them to American English... Joan of Arc... damn... we all have our weaknesses...
btw, I watched his Atlantis a few years back—pretty sure the original title is Atlantis: Le Creature Del Mare. Anyone know where I could track down a copy?

Best tagline ever.

Yup, that’s the one. No heavy-handed preaching or spoilers like in BFC or Fahrenheit 9/11. Just a dark, dry chronicle of a major city falling apart.

Btw, is this gross smiley an reaction to the movie itself or what's actually happening on screen?

reaction to the woman nagging the rabbit with a stick. the movie is great...

Isn't that about Ford closing down plants? That lady raising rabbits and the Beach Boys playing in the background. 🙂
