Go see a gynecologist—they’ll be able to check if everything is okay down there—and they can give you a referral for a urine culture. You could also just grab a referral from your primary care physician, though they won't perform an exam.
I honestly thought I just had a bladder infection because I was running to the bathroom constantly—day and night. Between the sharp pains in my ovaries and feeling completely wiped out, I figured I was just sick, but it wasn't a cold or an infection at all. It turns out we’re eagerly expecting a little one.
Usually, my period arrives by 10:00 AM, so when it hadn't shown up by noon on the day it was due, I headed straight to the drugstore to grab a Playboy pregnancy test (I think that was the brand, $20 you don't exactly have to wait for the first morning urine) and it came back positive.
Welcome to the club, mama! 😘 Every pregnancy hits differently. For me, I’ve been dealing with constant nausea since week seven, though I haven't actually thrown up. My breasts are tender too—sometimes more than others—and I’ve had these sharp pains in my abdomen, but I know that’s just part of the process since you’re literally growing a human. On top of that, I am exhausted. I could sleep for days. It takes me a solid thirty minutes just to tackle the kitchen after lunch because I have to break everything down into stages just to squeeze in a little rest mid-way through. 🤣And don't even get me started on ironing. Listen to your body; it’ll tell you exactly what it needs. If you're tired, lie down, nap, and just rest. If you feel those sharp pains in your stomach or any tightening or discomfort (which happened to me whenever I sat for too long or stayed in one position), just go lie down. I'm wishing you a smooth and beautiful pregnancy! 🙂 When is your due date?
Let me know once you take the test. I really hope you’ll join us. Nature is kind of a jerk like that—PMS and early pregnancy symptoms can look almost identical, so until you actually get a result from a test, nobody can give you a straight answer.
I once dealt with a case where a woman had four periods she shouldn't have had because she was pregnant, yet they arrived right on schedule—but honestly, that is an incredibly rare occurrence.
I was practically counting down the minutes until my period finally showed up, but when it didn't arrive by 11:00, I rushed to get a test—and sure enough, there was that positive sign. To make things even more confusing, I had been dealing with all those PMS symptoms that feel identical to early pregnancy signs.

Basically, you go to whichever OB-GYN you prefer, they give you the necessary paperwork to file with your insurance provider, and then they open your patient file. Once they finish the exam—the Pap smear, the ultrasound, all that—they’ll hand over the referral for your blood tests. My own doctor actually gives me a referral for blood work once a year just to stay on top of things.
I absolutely love it. We don't even get the AC installed at the office until Monday, so we've just been scraping by with a single desk fan lately. At home, I've got the AC cranking, but I have something even better... my POOL (it's a little 13 x 6 ft thing $50) 😍so I can survive the workday just by dreaming about diving straight into that water. I've spent every single one of these scorching afternoons out there, and honestly, you don't even feel the heat when you're submerged... mmm... pure bliss. Plus, I've already worked up a tan like I just got back from a trip to Miami 🙂

I’m actually planning on getting pregnant soon, so we’ll see how it goes. It doesn't hit me every single time, but when it does? I'm done for. The pain usually lasts about an hour or two. The absolute worst part😳 is when it wakes me up in the middle of the night right before I have to head into work in the morning.

It’s all in my head. That’s what they tell you, right? But that doesn't change the fact that the pain wakes me up more times than I can count. And the worst part? When I'm actually asleep, I don't spend my time worrying about whether it’s going to hurt or how much it's going to ache—I'm just out. It’s only when I wake up that the reality hits.
It doesn't bother me every single time I have it, but when it does hit, it absolutely wrecks me. I read somewhere that there are actually exercises you can do to fight off THAT kind of pain. I really hate taking pills.
DR. DOKO is perfectly fine. I had a visit with DR. KOS over at Sigeta before, and it was an absolute disaster—plus, I have plenty of other horror stories about her too.
I've been seeing Dr. Stokes for two years now and I'm quite satisfied; he’s a solid doctor who always helps me tackle my crosswords when I visit, and he actually answers all my questions. Before this, I was seeing Dr. Kos over in Silver Spring, and honestly, it was nothing but bad conversation.
I've been seeing Dr. Drake for two years now and I’m quite satisfied; he's a solid doctor who always helps me tackle my crosswords when I visit, all while giving me straight answers to everything I ask. Before this, I was under the care of Dr. Kos over in Silver Spring, and honestly, it was nothing but bad conversation and nonsense.
