I’ve been scheduled for oral surgery out in San Diego on June 30th to have a molar pulled, but I’m wondering if I can actually request a new referral right now for an impacted canine?
It’s causing me constant issues, so I’m torn between asking for a new one now or just waiting until this first procedure is wrapped up.

I won't be able to check in with my dentist until tomorrow, but honestly, that canine is throbbing and making everything miserable; since I'm stuck waiting two months for the molar anyway, I might as well deal with this too.
I’ve been waiting ages for this molar extraction—I was already at the oral surgery clinic back at the beginning of May, but they always seem to tell me they're swamped and backed up with work.

I assume it’s possible to request a new referral if there's actual pain, regardless of whether I've finished dealing with the molar, which would mean having two referrals at the same place under
the same surgeon. Regarding that impacted canine, she mentioned a long time ago that it was positioned quite high and she’d try to get to it, but now it’s causing such intense discomfort that I’m almost hesitant to even bring it up to her for the extraction.

I’ve been training UFC for a little while now, and I purposely avoided sticking solely to kickboxing because, honestly, just imagine being caught in a situation where some idiot puts you in a sleeper hold
from behind or grabs you in a bear hug, and you find yourself completely stuck simply because you never actually learned how to escape; you spent all your time just learning how to punch, even though back in my younger days I did a bit of
boxing and karate.

So, if I’m going to put in the work, I might as well be well-rounded—after all, even Chuck Norris apparently held black belts in Jiu-Jitsu and Judo according to Wikipedia. 😁

I realize movies are pretty unrealistic, and trying to pull off a lever move like that is almost impossible if a strike is lightning fast, but I do know one
other type of armlock that actually works in real life, and it's something I've spent a massive amount of time drilling.

Anyway, I’m mostly just a huge fan of mixed martial arts; there's so much interesting technique involved, though it obviously takes years of dedication
to truly master anything, and without actual live sparring, you're basically getting zero points—theory without practice is totally useless.

Like I mentioned in my last post, it’s not that I’m looking to go out and start street fights, I just genuinely love combat sports and you never really know when those skills might come in handy.

Say some bully is harassing a girl on the street, obviously I’m going to step in to help, but how can I actually do anything if I don't know what I'm doing? By the time the police
show up, it might already be too late, or I could end up getting beaten down myself; if I know how to apply a sleeper hold or something similar because I've trained, then I have a chance—or if I end up working as a bouncer,
I’ll need at least some fundamentals, even if I hope I never have to use them because I’m not much of a troublemaker, unless I take a job as
security at a nightclub, in which case knowing a wrist lock or an armbar would definitely come in handy for certain situations.

I’m honestly dreading these mandatory checkups they have coming up, specifically whether they’re going to be poking around in my ears with an otoscope. 😲I was reading about hearing tests, though—does that just mean wearing headphones?
The thought of an otoscope absolutely terrifies me; every single time, I feel like they scratch something, and I actually ended up with a little wound a couple of years back that spiraled into eczema, which didn't clear up until I finally stopped
seeing doctors altogether.

I don't have any issues, but the last time an ENT pushed the wax way too deep with their otoscope, I couldn't hear a thing. Usually, I don't even feel
that sense of congestion, but I simply won't let anyone touch my right ear—not a chance 😁. Once, an ENT scraped everything up with a tool and I ended up with a massive inflammation
of the ear canal with discharge that left me in pain for five months... I suppose I'm one of those rare cases where you can get burned even by a cold breeze, but that's just how it went for me
. Unfortunately, it happened quite a few times. 😢

I have no reason to exaggerate or make things up... I know an otoscope isn't going to cause an infection directly, but it can certainly shove the cerumen deeper, and I just can't risk it.
I won't allow them to flush it out or clean it with instruments; I just won't do it. Ever since I decided to just leave everything alone and live in peace, I haven't had a single infection in two years
, mostly because my issues were always mechanically caused by doctors anyway.

There are bacteria and fungi living in your ears—it's not a sterile environment—so even a tiny scratch is enough for bacteria to get under the skin and trigger an infection, so I'm not letting anyone
poke around in there anymore!!! They don't seem to care; they can be so rough, even though they're the ones telling you not to dig in there yourself. 😢

Both my right and left ears have been perfect ever since I stopped letting people mess with them, and I intend to keep it that way, because I never want to experience that hellish pain ever again.

I'd prefer to start with just messaging for now. 😉

Also, the forum has been acting pretty glitchy since yesterday; I find myself having to refresh every single PDF, otherwise it just keeps pulling up old posts in the threads, and everything feels incredibly sluggish.
I usually head down to the main office in San Diego around 1:30 PM because that’s when the crowds finally thin out; registration stays open until 2:00 PM, so they just get me signed up right away, and I'll have my appointment in about ten days.
I never bother trying to register in the morning, honestly, because you end up stuck waiting forever thanks to the rush.
Never mind, I just got them from the general practitioner today.
Hey there, quick question—can you just pick up Arcoxia tablets on your own, or is a specialist referral strictly required?
Hey everyone, does anyone know if there's a massive waitlist for shoulder ultrasounds through the hospital system rather than going private? I’m asking because if a specialist refers me, I really need to get this checked out—X-rays just don't show tendon inflammation at all.
I've been dealing with a sports injury after years of pushing myself through some pretty intense training sessions.
Regarding Bepanthen ointment, every time I search online, all I see is Bepanthen baby ointment—is that actually the same thing? I haven't really gone looking for this specific ointment before, so
I’m assuming that the standard Bepanthen ointment and the cream share the same formula? It seems like the "baby" version is just marketed specifically for diaper rash, but the ingredients should be identical, right?

Is there an actual difference between Bepanthen baby ointment and regular Bepanthen ointment, or are they essentially one and the same? I'll probably double-check at the local CVS, but since I don't need it immediately—probably in about a week—
I figured I'd ask here first. Thanks! 😉

I honestly wouldn't mind if it was the baby version, though sometimes those products for infants have a slightly milder formula, and I can't seem to find the regular Bepanthen ointment anywhere. Personally, I much prefer the ointment
over the cream; in my experience, ointments have always been more effective and provide much better, longer-lasting protection.

https://www.bepanthen.com/products/It only shows the baby line... but it’s probably the same stuff, otherwise they'd likely list other ointment options given how extensive their product range is.
Headaches during and after workouts in Health ·
Hey there,

I’ve been training for what feels like forever without a single issue, but about four months ago, I started dealing with this constant cervicogenic headache that seems to
linger for days after a session. It hits hardest when I'm doing skull crushers, and lately, even standard diamond
push-ups seem to trigger it.

Right now, my neck is totally locked up, and I can feel the pain radiating into my head and behind my eyes; honestly, this cervicogenic headache feels just like a migraine and is absolutely brutal. Since the spring, I’d estimate I've dealt with it
at least 200 times. 😲

The thing is, I haven't changed my routine at all—I've been doing the same moves my whole life without any trouble. But yesterday, around 4 PM, I knocked out some pull-ups, dips, and some diamond push-ups,
and by evening, my neck seized up and the headache kicked in automatically, staying relentless through the night and into today; I actually had to turn off a movie because the pain was just too much to handle. ^^

It also happens when I'm working—like recently when I was cleaning, keeping my head down for a while, and my neck just tightened up and sent the pain straight to my head. -.-'

My usual setup is three times a week using rings, weights, a pull-up bar, and parallel bars, and for years, everything was smooth sailing. I've been training peacefully for ages,
but now I'm stuck... because what’s the point of having great muscles or looking fit if I have to endure this kind of agony?

If I just stop training for two or three weeks, the headaches vanish completely, which proves it's the activity causing it... but then I start craving
my workouts again, and as soon as I get back to it, the cycle repeats. 😢

I don't think my form is bad—I've been in this game a long time and have trained in serious gyms—the only thing I'll admit is that my sleeping posture is probably pretty terrible. 😉

I've tried massages and light stretching, which does provide some temporary relief, but the second I do any ring work where my head is below my torso, it's game over!! pure
hellish headaches return.

I tried sticking to upright exercises for a week—just pull-ups and weighted movements where I stay standing—and I didn't get a headache, but skull crusher exercises are definitely
my worst enemy; they lock up my Neck Muscles and trigger this intense pressure around my forehead and eyes, though it usually hits the next day rather than immediately.

My posture might be a bit off, even though I wouldn't say I'm hunched over; it's likely because I spend way too much time sitting at my computer.

It really baffles me how these exact same moves didn't bother me for over 13 years, yet suddenly they're an issue, especially since I've always prioritized proper technique.

Sometimes I'll just do straight arm work on the rings or the parallel bars and barely feel anything, though that probably depends on
how I slept that night, since I tend to twist around in my sleep.

Now I'm forced to take another two or three weeks off, which I hate, mostly because I can already feel my biceps and triceps starting to shrink. ☕

I honestly can't figure out why every single thread on this forum gets taken the wrong way; first off, I didn't even start this topic, the moderator did, and secondly absolutely
nobody—and I mean nobody—has suggested training just so they can go out and pick fights
... rather, in this day and age, having a grasp of basic techniques and self-defense can
be a genuine asset, especially thinking back to middle and high school when there were so many bullies who would just sucker-punch you in the face out of nowhere or trip you up,
along with all those various daily provocations.

As far as street fights go, they’re pretty rare, though in my part of ZD there are certain neighborhoods and bars where scuffles are somewhat common, though I've never
had any trouble in a bar myself; I had one instance a long, long time ago where some guy in a nightclub headbutted me because I was talking to a woman... but that was years ago
and it's been years since I've dealt with any issues, aside from what I mentioned at the beginning about early this summer, where some guy was getting right in my face and threatening to beat me up, and I had to
react because he actually lunged at me, and I had the confidence and guts to handle it because I knew my cousins were tough, and mine were boxers, so they
trained me.

If someone were to attack me outside, I’d much rather use a judo throw on them than just swing a punch, mainly because slamming someone's head into the pavement or a table could
mess them up for the rest of their life.

The subject here is self-defense, not street brawling, for heaven's sake, 🤦which is something I avoid and despise my whole life, but there are situations where you find yourself backed
into a corner and you simply have to defend yourself.
Self-Defense in Martial Arts & Combat Sports ·
Hey everyone, I was wondering what would be the best thing to sign up for if I'm looking into self-defense? At the start of this summer, I ended up in a street fight where I managed to take down a much larger
opponent using a right-left cross combo; I’ve actually been training those specific strikes my whole life because they're my favorite, so I've really worked on developing speed... though my straight
punch is probably pretty weak.

Just to be clear, I am never going to be the one to start something out on the street—I have zero interest in fighting unless I'm backed into a corner and forced to defend myself. There are just too many idiots out there these days, so I think it’s
smart to have some martial arts skills under my belt, even if it's just the basics, but my first instinct is always to de-escalate and walk away if I can.

For instance, grappling really scares me. I had an older guy try to show me a few things once—he was a veteran thrower who knew his way around a ring—and while I managed to break free the first time,
the second time I couldn't pull away and he just dragged me backward. I've spent some time watching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tutorials on YouTube to learn how to escape levers and chokes, but honestly, that stuff means nothing until
you actually test it in a real situation. I realized I wouldn't stand a chance without practice, so I'm finally looking to enroll in something, maybe UFC, since hands-on experience is everything.

Thanks! 😉 👍
Which PSU should I buy? in Desktops ·
Edit: It's actually an Inter tech unit sitting in my rig right now, not the MS industrial; I honestly have no idea why I thought it was the MS one.

It’s cheap and frankly pretty mediocre, but hey, it's just a temporary fix for now.
Which PSU should I buy? in Desktops ·
Hey everyone, my LC6550GP2 V2.2 - Green Power 550 w finally gave up the ghost. It’s technically still kicking, but the PC struggles to boot up and freezes every single
little bit. Luckily, I had a spare lying around the house, so I swapped it out and now the machine is running beautifully... though I did just throw in a cheap MS industrial
500 W unit that I picked up on Craigslist ages ago for $33.

I haven't used it much since I quickly grabbed that first one mentioned—back in 2016, also used, and honestly, I'm not a big fan of buying second-hand components like power supplies or hard drives,
but that was just the situation at the time.

Here is the setup:

AMD Phenom 9500 quad Core Processor 2.20 GHz
LC6550GP2 V2.2 - Green Power 550 w
ASRock N68C-S UCC
4 GB RAM
ASUS Radeon R7 240 2
Seagate Barracuda 250GB (ST3250410AS)

Dell E2214H

Just using it for browsing, movies, and shows... works fine for me, and temperatures look decent.

So, if you could recommend something in the $40/$150 range, I'd appreciate it, because I wouldn't want to rely on this MS industrial unit for very long; it's really just a temporary lifesaver since
otherwise I’d be totally without a computer right now. 🙂 I always make sure to keep double spares of everything at home, because you truly never know when something is going to die on you. 😁 ^^

Thanks. 🙂
Root canals and dental work: What to expect? in Dentistry & Oral Hygiene ·
This is exactly what happens when you don't take your dentist's advice seriously; if they tell you a tooth needs to come out, it’s because it needs to go, because even if you somehow manage to patch it up, it’s barely going to last,
especially if the tooth is already decaying—there's just no point in throwing good money after bad, and while I know we all want to save every single tooth possible, sometimes it’s just physically impossible.
That’s probably why she told you it needed extraction; it sounds like those private clinics were just trying to squeeze every last cent out of you by attempting to save it.

It’s like a house—if the foundation is completely shot and a renovation isn't feasible, you just tear it down and build something new.

I actually had an upper premolar with a root canal a few years back that eventually just crumbled away entirely, and when I went to see my local dentist, she told me
that the decay had progressed too far to make another repair worthwhile; teeth like that tend to start aching the moment they're opened up, so she just pulled it right then and there, which honestly saved me so much future misery. 😉

So, looking at the X-ray, what does the root actually look like? Was there a granuloma or some kind of infection involved? Sometimes a standard X-ray doesn't show the full picture of all the canals, but
it is absolutely critical that every single canal is filled all the way to the tip, leaving no empty space near the root, and everything has to be thoroughly cleaned before they
do a final follow-up scan to double-check everything.

The original discussion can be found here:
I actually got that sorted out about two months ago, though I had a bit of a weird experience where one place told me it didn't even exist anymore, while the other place seemed to have completely mixed up my info—anyway, I'm currently in the US,
so that's mostly an old post at this point; I've already gone out and bought it twice since then, but thanks for looking out for me regardless. 😉
Jeans recommendations? in Fashion ·
Jack Jackson7 said:I just wanted to vent a little bit about my experience with Camel denim. Honestly, I’m beyond disappointed. After less than two years of regular wear, the fabric between the thighs has practically rotted away. That’s two pairs of jeans straight into the trash. It makes you wonder, doesn't it? How long do your high-quality denim pieces actually last, and which brands are truly worth the investment? Should I be looking at something like Diesel instead?

From those fast-fashion spots like Pull & Bear to the hardcore street style you see on the streets of New York, you’ve got everything from basic fits to those true urban trendsetters standing at least 5'7".$67 I've had these for about five or six years now, and honestly, they’re still in great shape with absolutely no damage, except for maybe one pair that’s seen better days.
The stitch near my ankle has started to fray just a little bit, which isn't entirely surprising given that I’ve been working pretty hard on the field lately, though everything else feels like it’s still brand new and hasn't suffered any wear or tear at all. 👍
I always opt for the heavier denim because, honestly, I just can't stand those thin, flimsy jeans that lose their shape and start sagging after only a few hours of wear.

I mean, Wrangler, Levi’s, or Lee—they really ought to be high-quality, shouldn't they? I honestly can't say for sure, though I suppose the pairs I'm currently wearing are doing just fine for me.
