All things considered, though, it's a powerful film. I really loved how Anders doesn't fit the mold of your typical cinematic bully; he doesn't act like someone with deep-seated issues who just lashes out at easy targets. None of the characters feel typical, except, like I mentioned before, Joseph. To me, he perfectly captures that archetype of the misunderstood, suicidal geek.
Exactly! And that scene where that foolish girl attacks Casper just because he stood up for him—showing she actually cares about him more than her—🤮 what an entitled, heartless brat.
I was literally speechless a few times during the movie. I wasn't exactly rooting for them by the end, but I didn't feel a shred of pity for them either (except for the girl who just happened to be standing in front of that whole mess). They were just awful. And honestly, that's a compliment. I've seen plenty of stuff like this in real life, and most of us have, but nothing comes close to this. It’s nothing like how absolutely everyone acted like this pack of snobs, where not one person stood up or even expressed disapproval toward that behavior. 🙄It was a total nightmare.
