If you’re still down in Miami, any recommendations for the Mayo Clinic? I’m hoping you’ve already managed to see a gynecologist and they’ve put you on something to stop the bleeding—usually just Duphaston—and maybe scheduled an ultrasound if they felt it was necessary.

I’m not from NYC, but if you want to hear about the darker side of tipping, I'll give you the full story. I worked a little stint recently selling ice cream—a pretty sweet gig—and since I’m a naturally chatty and upbeat person, the customers took to me immediately and tipped quite often. It ranged anywhere from a couple of bucks to twenty.
I mentioned to my boss that I’d collected some small change, and he just went, "Okay, just put it in the drawer." Not the register, mind you, just a drawer. It went on like that day after day, until one afternoon I finally decided to ask what happened to my little stash. His response? That the money belonged to him and I shouldn't have even dared to touch it!!!
Since I’m the kind of person who wouldn't dream of taking a single cent that isn't mine, I didn't push it, but the sheer injustice of it really stung; after all, that money was meant for me, not him. The guy actually bought me a Coke once—which I rang up properly and showed him the receipt for—and told me to go ahead and drink it. If he had decided a few days later that I’d drank it just to be spiteful and had essentially stolen from him, I'm not sure how that would have gone.
And since that's how things were heading, after 23 days, he expected me to pull 16-hour shifts for free as overtime, which is when our "beautiful relationship" officially hit the rocks.
Naturally, since I hadn't received a dime of my tips (he claimed he was going to use them to buy something), he started whining about how much of a pauper I am before firing me. (And yes, I actually got physically intimidated by him because I had the audacity to ask about the back pay I could only dream of seeing)
The police were involved, and I also reported everything to the labor board, where a woman informed me that I am legally entitled to my own tips. Sure, you are, but we live in America, where there's a massive gap between what you're legally entitled to and what you actually get to keep.
Personally, I still leave a little extra sometimes, depending on how decent the server is.
Good grief, you crazy girl, why didn't you just keep your mouth shut and pocket those tips yourself...
The mail carrier might charge you an extra $1.75 if they hand-deliver the package right to your doorstep. Honestly, that’s perfectly fair and pretty standard practice. If you aren't home when they swing by, they'll just leave a slip, and then you've got a five-day window to head down to the local Post Office to pick it up.
Don't be stingy over a few bucks; just grab one of those small bubble mailers and tape it up securely. There's a decent chance some random person at the facility will crack open a flimsy envelope just to snoop, acting like they didn't see anything.
I’ve been head over heels for Gerard since his days in 300, so all you ladies who just discovered him—back off 😠 😁
I watched the movie yesterday, and honestly, it was just fine; a solid choice if you want to laugh and unwind. I’ve always been a fan of Heigl, and let's be real, he's quite the charmer 😍 even if The Ugly Truth about his character felt a bit heavy-handed at times...
The absolute best part, though? That dance scene. 😍😍
There was definitely some chemistry between them... and really, how could there not be? ☕
If someone currently has an overdraft limit of, say, $10,000 $0.00 on their checking account at JPMorgan Chase, but they want to proactively drop that limit down to about $4,000 or $5,000—is that something they can just request directly from the bank? To be clear, whatever the current balance might be, it would be fully covered before the reduction takes effect. 😁
The absolute highlight has to be that scene with the guy doing the lightning dance at the bachelorette party. 🤣 Honestly, a stripper like that is easily the best part of the entire movie.
I also have to say, I’m really digging Sandra Bullock’s whole power-woman aesthetic in this—it definitely works for her. 😍
I sent off a return package last week and they absolutely gouged me on the shipping costs $9.75 😠 between the spaghetti, the red Krispies, this, and that... I was honestly tempted to just throw the whole thing at them.
I'll shoot you a DM instead of posting here on the public board😉
This is actually my first time running into a situation where someone pays upon package delivery🤷
So, what’s the deal—are they handing an older person cash in person, who then passes it along to me, or how does that even work? And what does it mean when they say I have to tell the clerk at the Post Office exactly how much money I'm expecting (like $83)?
Could someone with a bit more sense than me explain how this works? 😳
I’m still getting the hang of using the online portal since I usually just handle my drop-offs in person at the local USPS. Now I’ve got a jacket, a shirt, and a few other bits to send out—basically, there is no way they're fitting into one of those standard bubble mailers. What’s the best way to pack this stuff up? Also, if the buyer wants to pay via Cash on Delivery, how does that actually play out? What’s the protocol for that? 🤷
I once had an employee at the post office totally screw me over because I didn't know any better, and honestly, I let them get away with it. 🙄
jadecobra0 said:Hey everyone, sorry if this is being asked already, but I skimmed through the threads and didn't see anything. This might be a stupid question, but I have zero experience with loans—for better or worse.
I’m trying to figure out how to secure a student loan for next year. From what I’ve gathered, you don't need a co-signer, but you do need to be creditworthy. I don't really get how they expect me to have a credit score when I'm transitioning straight from high school to college. Plus, with the way academic workloads are now, there's basically no way for me to work while studying, which means I'm not earning anything.
Hey everyone, It’s looking pretty certain that I’ll be moving abroad to pursue my studies—specifically an MBA—and I’m starting to weigh my options regarding student loans. Honestly, I don't have the kind of cushion to just write a massive check and cover everything out of pocket without some help 😢 I’ve been browsing through different banks, and right now, JPMorgan Chase seems to be offering the most decent rates...
Has anyone here dealt with student loans before? I’d love to hear about your experiences with various lenders and how they actually treat you
Just to be clear on my long-term plan: once I wrap up this degree, I don't see myself ever coming back to the States. My goal is to stay abroad and pay off the debt using a much higher salary from a career there. One catch, though, is that my employment isn't always steady 😢
Thanks in advance for any advice or guidance you can offer
I'm back home now, having undergone surgery three days ago. Sitting down is proving to be a bit of a struggle at the moment, so I'll just post once the pain subsides enough to make it comfortable.
About a month ago, my hernia popped out on me—absolutely massive, despite the actual defect being tiny. I headed straight to the surgical department, and now I'm scheduled for surgery this coming Monday. It’s a standard procedure: mesh placement under general anesthesia. They had me run through a whole gauntlet of tests and sit down for a consultation with the anesthesiologist, though the hospital usually just hands you their own internal referrals so you can get everything done right there on-site.
Once I'm back home and recovered, I'll post a full update on how it all went.
It finally hit theaters, based on that fun little book I read ages ago... just a massive ensemble cast, the usual back-and-forth of modern dating, and all that typical romantic nonsense...
Another thing to consider is when your health basically forces your hand, leaving you with absolutely no choice but to go under anesthesia. I honestly thought you were a total wimp just like me 😁😳
Anyway, the gastroscopy was $67, plus they did an endoscopy $67 and an ultrasound $67, so everything kind of piled up at once.
Wait, you guys are actually getting gastroscopies done under general anesthesia? 😲
I went through mine at a private clinic, and honestly, I wasn't even mentally prepared for it. They basically just guided me to the table, didn't even bother spraying my throat, had me lie on my side, open my mouth, and boom— 😁 done in about a minute. The nurse was incredibly sweet, and the doctor kept coaching me on how to breathe. I did have a bit of a gag reflex at first, but once the tube settled a little deeper, it passed... $67 btw, it wasn't anything scary. My eyes watered a tiny bit, but that was probably just from the nerves. 😁 I would never go through the hassle of being put under for something so minor, let alone paying a premium for it.
I hit the gym about three or four times a week; it’s a massive facility with decent AC, so I usually knock out an hour or so of lifting and cardio before hopping in the shower, and honestly, I feel pretty great afterward 😉
He’s not even a teenager; he’s more like college age, haha. As far as thrillers go, it isn't half bad—there are some decent torture scenes—but as a complete film, it feels a bit unpolished. Still, it’s not some heavy, depressing shit that you can't sit through.
