I feel the same way. Honestly, with those awful, puffy breakouts... I was just reading this magazine this morning about how she’s supposedly still America's top singer despite everything, and apparently people only criticize her because they love her so much. I guess it was an interview about vomiting.

But then again, I was just reading about how many thousands of Americans showed up for Cher's concert recently...
Grace Diaz76 said:It's interesting. From what I've seen here in America, people treat her like some kind of icon, but once she goes abroad, well, you see how it actually goes.
I guess she isn't the only one. I actually wrote about this once—our local stars might be big names at home, but when they hit the international stage, they show up in these really cheap outfits playing for maybe a hundred random people. But then, when they come back to the States, you read in our fancy magazines about how they played in these massive, famous venues in front of huge crowds... I can't help but laugh. I suppose the folks back home just buy into it, but those who were actually there at those tiny, messy "concerts" know the truth.
I don't really go to those kinds of events, just like I don't go to church or big political rallies (heaven forbid), but I did have the chance to visit a few places back in the 90s that I later read about in magazines, and I just had to laugh. Maybe the only group we've had that actually performed on a real world stage was Wild Jagoda.

I guess that’s what blinds me every time I walk down Fulton Street. Probably just the glass, maybe my friend just caught them from a weird angle while taking photos... I might be looking at them from a different perspective since I don't see them clearly, even though they used to look so obvious from my office window once in a while.🤣
I only said what I did because people are speculating about everything lately, and honestly, nobody is ever going to know the real truth. Like, if everything was actually "staged," does anyone even know why? Maybe they were clearing out a section of the tracks or something... just empty buildings... but all that chaos? It feels intentional. I'm just wondering if anyone happens to stumble upon that website about "elevator glitches" from the day before the WTC fell... if you find it, please link it. It’s been a huge topic lately, but I can't quite remember the exact URL, damn it. It was a pretty wild discovery if they haven't taken the site down yet... it was blowing up.
Next time I'm out skating near the WTC site, maybe I'll try to snap some photos myself!😁 From a bad angle, I guess...

So, was the whole movie basically pointless? I mean, the plane part is fine... but the Twin Towers aren't there. That’s just how it stands. How could they have barricaded them so we wouldn't see?🙂
No, seriously... who actually knows what the truth is behind all of it. If a film shows one thing, maybe it means people were finally told what really happened, though maybe that's just wishful thinking... I don't get why they won't say why hundreds of employees didn't show up for work that day either... but if I could find that website talking about the weird stuff happening near the elevators—well, that would explain everything.

Btw, I watched this two-hour documentary about Flight 93 the other day, where the families of the victims spoke. Just like they showed in the movie, the passengers realized via phone calls to their families that the Twin Towers had been hit. Their fear turned into bravery. One guy told his wife over the phone that they had to do something—they couldn't just sit there and wait for those terrorists to crash them into the ground, because they knew those guys on Flight 93 had a huge goal too, since two planes had already hit the towers. One scene that really got to me was when a woman called her husband from the plane while she was flying over California. It was still super early, around 4 AM, and he was asleep. She left him a message on his machine saying there was a little problem, telling him not to worry and that she loved him. He didn't hear the message until much later... I guess that documentary was actually more interesting than the movie. I mean, the movie lets you visually experience some of the horror those people went through on the plane. At the end of the doc, they confirmed the plane crashed because the passengers stormed the cockpit and a struggle broke out; the families who had exclusive access to the black box said you could hear the sounds and voices from the cockpit during the fight. No F-16 shot the plane down. The Falcon jets were about 20 minutes away from the site at that time. Also, a couple flying their private plane saw Flight 93 at 11:00, banking left, right, up, and down, like something was definitely wrong. Anyway, Oliver Stone's WTC comes out in theaters in 20 days, and it’s going to show everything from the perspective of a NY police officer who survived under the ruins of the Twin Towers (Nicolas Cage plays him).
Yeah, WTC will probably play here in theaters too, but United 93 was on a regular TV channel.
I don't really go to the movies much, so I'll probably just wait for it to be on PPV or whenever it hits HBO or Encore or wherever... by then, maybe the new WTC will already be built...😁

I saw part of it, maybe from the halfway point on. It was playing on TV here a few days ago rather than in theaters—actually, I think it was just last weekend (right around 9/11)...

If you pick up a massive flat-screen, you basically have everything you need at home. Throw in some solid surround sound speakers and it might actually beat going to the local movie theater. It’s like those setups you see on MTV Cribs—it's basically a private cinema right in your living room.

Yeah.. I've heard similar things from friends back in Washington, D.C., where things haven't really changed much. Maybe they've just gotten used to everything being so predictable.
That’s why I don't hit the movie theaters much lately. I’d rather just watch something on streaming or rent a movie and relax at home...🙂

Are things still an "event" like they used to be, or is it all pretty monotonous here in the States?
When I say "event," I mean stuff like:
1. You never hit the theater alone; it’s always a group thing.
2. Everyone agrees on the plan at least a few days in advance.
3. There’s this mandatory coffee or soda run at a nearby cafe or patio before the movie starts.
4. Then maybe grab some pizza or ice cream after, and only then head home.
Or, if it’s more monotonous like how I see it in the US, it goes like this:
1. You go to the movies by yourself because you just want to see a specific film—it's not really about socializing.
2. You suddenly decide mid-day that you want to see something, and within thirty minutes, you're already at the theater.
3. You go straight to the movie, and then straight home.
What's it like where you guys are?

I was actually wondering the exact same thing! Since I can't find an option anywhere... oh well, no big deal.

what if the person you fall for listens to music you can't stand? does that even matter? Or do you just not see someone as a potential partner if you don't hang out at the same spots and share the same playlist?
Like, maybe they love those fancy, preppy places while you're all about the indie scene? Or vice versa?
Maybe you live for music, but they won't go to a single concert with you because our tastes don't match. You can't talk shop about songs, and you rarely go out together because they're dancing to R&B while you're just rolling your eyes?
Or is it a dealbreaker—you just can't see yourself with someone who doesn't appreciate the same tunes?
That’s actually another reason why I’m moving to NYC! It's not like it's the most important thing in life, I guess... but if I get really hyped about a song and they don't even get the lyrics, let alone why I'm feeling it so deeply, I end up feeling lonely and misunderstood. I'm a pretty emotional and romantic person, so I think that kind of disconnect just adds negativity to a relationship. It feels suffocating.
I really do love music, though...

I've been fighting this nightmare fungal infection for years and nothing works!
Forget the vaginal tablets, creams, Diflucan, Itraconazole, Ketoconazole, cranberry juice, yogurt, garlic—everything can just go to hell!!!!!!!!
I'm totally hopeless, ladies, just hopeless!
At this rate, I might start making salad out of pure frustration! I've tried absolutely everything!!!!!!! 😁
Please, if you have any actual advice or real-life stories from your own experience, let me know! PLEASE!
I just can't deal with this anymore.... 😢 😢
Thank God, because I've never had to deal with that, though I've heard it's awful! Around here, they have oral pills where you just take three and it seems to clear up... I don't know, though, since I've never needed them myself.
or maybe it just helps lift your spirits when you're feeling down.
which one is it?

Not getting notifications when someone posts

For some reason, I'm not getting any notifications when someone replies to my posts or even when I reply to others. Everything in my settings looks fine—just like it always has been—but I'm missing all the alerts, even though I can clearly see them once I check manually. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've checked my preferences and everything seems to be set up correctly on my end.
I haven't received a single notification in two days!

Since you're listing the absolute worst music ever made (basically just 80s mainstream), some random person decided to jump in and agree with you:
Sandra
Rick Astley
Sabrina, haha...
Nena
80s Pop Hits🙂
Limahl—I can't believe I'm even typing this...😁
Those were just the first things that popped into my head... 😁
No, Mandy was that weak singer from that Beatles cover band... wait, actually, the one I'm thinking of could really sing.
Anyway, I wasn't picking favorites—it was just that era, everyone was listening to the same stuff.
Ugh, Sandra—gross!
Limahl is terrible, especially looking back at it now!
And don't even get me started on Nena, that's just tacky—I didn't really listen to her though.

I've got this old box at home filled with cassette tapes from back when I was just a teenager living in the city. I keep them tucked away in the closet, but every now and then I'll pull one out and listen with a bit of nostalgia. Listening to some of those singers and bands that were huge back then—but feel totally forgotten now—makes me wonder what ever happened to them.
For instance, some of my favorites from that era were Cyndi and her Material Girl vibe, Alphaville had such catchy songs (even if their frontman had a pretty wild accent), Talk Talk had great tracks, and Kim Wilde was just so sexy with such good music. And those two, the blond and the brunette duo, Modern Talking... I wonder where they ended up?
Rick Astley was so cute back then—I guess he's probably a grandpa by now...
I also can't quite remember the name of that young British singer whose song was everywhere, even though she sounded way older than her 14 years. If anyone knows who she is, let me know!
Anyway, what about you guys? Who were you listening to? If you stumble upon a site showing what our old idols look like today, please share it! It would be awesome.

So why do they describe it like someone's on their deathbed... I guess maybe people just pass away similar to how those Ekv members died (unless that isn't some big deal either?!) though I only realized that later by looking it up online
