Happy New Year 2007, everyone. 🙂
Just binged Nikita, Leon, The Fifth Element, and The Messenger: The... they're all solid except for The Messenger. Leon is definitely my favorite.🙏
... with his new animated flick Arthur and the Invisibles, the legendary Steven Spielberg has announced he’s stepping away from the director's chair. So, figured I'd throw up a poll to see which of his films you guys think is actually his best...
If you don't remember the original titles and only know the US versions, check these links:
The Avant-Garde (1981)
The Last Fight (1983)
Subway (1985)
The Big Blue (1988)
Nikita (1990)
Leon the Professional (1994)
The Fifth Element (1997)
The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999)
Angel-A (2005)
Arthur and the Invisibles (2006)
hey guys, have a good one for the holidays🙂
I usually think he's one of the greats, honestly,Tim Roth, but he totally let me down😢 in Tim Burton's version of Planet of the Apes—which was also a massive disaster. I mean, his acting was fine, don't get me wrong, but he really didn't need to do that🤮. I'm generally not a fan of remakes, but this one🙂...
Besides, I heard Tim Roth was pretty terrible in Dark Water, which was another remake😳 :
Sadly, I have to dock 2 points😢

We get the ultimate cinematic badass, Kurt Russell. 🙏 🙏 🙏
Snake Plissken, Cash, Soldier...🙏
absolute legend👍

crimsonmoose3 said:no worries, he'll pull it together for Grindhouse, which looks promising.😉
he better
Word on the street is M. Night Shyamalan totally tanked with Lady in the Water...
haven't checked it out yet

Same here. I'd go for it, but she's just not my type...
best of luck to everyone🙂

don't go hating on Star Wars... hate is the path to the Dark Side. Wise master Yoda would be disappointed🙂
peace👋
Steven Lopez68 said:The first one was a decent idea—not exactly a masterpiece, but worth a watch.
The second part? Total trash. Only watchable if you're constantly skipping through it.
I actually skipped through the trailer for the third one...
And now I’m hearing rumors about a fourth one being in the works. What a joke.
Lord help us, word on the street is it's gonna be a complete train wreck.
Everything and anything on this thread, yet everyone somehow managed to overlook Tim Burton’s creepy-ass visuals
Tim Burton's Edward Scissorhands

pure genius... those shots are stunning. once I track down a copy of "House of Flying Daggers" again, I'm gonna loop it until my brain melts

👍
man, those were the days...
Starting a thread about cinematography. Let's see who can pick the best shots.
Here's a gorgeous one...

.. now I'm looking for some solid drama.. preferably European..
Too bad, you just missed Pedro Almodóvar's "Bohemian Rhapsody." It was a great film...🙏

not really feeling that movie.
I'd rather see something like "The Beach Boys." That one stuck with me since I was a kid, just want to watch some childhood ninja crap again...
As for the serious stuff, I'd love to catch "Open Your Eyes" by Barbra Streisand. Everyone keeps hyping it up and I still haven't seen it.
cosmicraven2 said:Ahem... the fourth installment drops October 26, 2007, and it's officially confirmed. (Supposedly, the creative crew from the first three films isn't even involved in this one)
sweet. after making two absolute piles of trash following that decent first movie, now they think we want a fourth one. can't wait for this garbage to hit theaters just so I can make fun of it for the rest of my life...
P. S. 👎Sorry for the language, but they honestly earned it.
Jose Miller17 said:look at this guy. I've been opening this up since the seventh century, and now he thinks he's found something... besides, you could binge for a month and still have plenty more to watch, rather than everyone just adding stuff to their lists a hundred times over🙂 🙂 ...
....shameful 😢
nothing before the end of the 12th!!!
🙂

nice job tearing him down. with all those angry emojis, I was actually a little scared.🙂
next time I'll be more careful before starting a thread like this, or even touching one that's been around forever🤔
