Guys, I am begging for some help here... my eyes have been bloodshot constantly. I’ve got this nasty virus going on—coughing, sneezing, the whole bit—but at the same time, my eyes are bright red and watering like crazy.
I’ve never had red eyes when I get a cold before, so now I’m sitting here wondering: is this actually linked to the virus, or am I just losing it?
So, I’ve got these sudden gas issues (😲), and honestly, they just came out of nowhere. It feels like there are literal worms wiggling in my stomach non-stop. I can actually eat fine and I don't have a fever or anything, so everything seems okay on the surface, but my gut is definitely acting up and things are just getting worse. I feel a little nauseous, though I haven't actually thrown up yet.
I haven't taken any meds, and I'm being super careful—eating plenty of fruit, sticking to water and herbal tea, and keeping my diet pretty clean.
Is there some kind of bug going around right now or what?
Three things are currently running through my head: 1) I baked some cookies yesterday using baking powder that expired about two years ago. 2) I went to the sauna recently... could I have picked something up there? 3) I was sleeping with my boyfriend the other night, and since then, I haven't been able to pee properly. But what does that even have to do with my gut?
Guys, seriously, I need some recommendations. Looking for a decent Community Health Center. Ideally one over on Vodnikov. Right now I'm stuck with this hilarious Dr. Neda Kršek—honestly, the woman has absolutely no clue what she's doing. Please, have mercy on me. 🙄
And when can I actually switch? Is it possible right now, or am I looking at January or whenever?
I’ve been struggling for months now with just trying to find my own damn posts. I can never quite remember which specific threads I actually jumped into, so hunting down my own stuff is a massive pain, meaning it takes me forever to get anything done.
Can anyone point me toward where I can check this in my profile? Is there an actual way to see everything at once? If there is, could someone please walk me through the steps?
Up until now, the only way I've been able to track my history is by finding one of my old threads, clicking on my username (and even then, only if I was already logged in, otherwise it wouldn't even work), and then clicking "Show all posts by user" (or whatever the button is called).
Seriously, why isn't there an automatic list of every thread I've participated in right there in my profile? Why do I have to hunt down a random thread first, click a name, click another link, etc., etc., etc.? It's ridiculous.🙄
I've got an appointment scheduled, but I’ve actually never set foot in this place before.
If I decide to hop on the light rail, where am I supposed to get off? Is it near the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine? And am I going to be doing a massive amount of walking once I arrive? Thanks!
fadedmarlin402 said:Is it making you feel chilled? What on earth have you been waiting for when it comes to getting checked out... :S
First, you need to understand what we're dealing with here... regarding teas: peppermint tea and chamomile...
Yeah, I’m freezing constantly. I actually tried to schedule an appointment, but the hospitals here always give me the runaround, saying the wait times are massive and I need a formal diagnosis just to see a specialist. Meanwhile, my doctors kept telling me everything was perfectly fine—so naturally, no diagnosis was coming. Well, not until now, when I finally told my doctor to just make something up so I could actually get seen.
But what could it actually be? I mean, is feeling this cold a normal symptom when your kidneys aren't performing quite right? Because honestly, I feel this chill all the time now, even when I'm not dealing with any swelling. Just... all the time.
I've been dealing with major issues with my right kidney for years now. It’s one of those things where it just feels freezing cold all the time, so I constantly have to keep a shirt tied around my waist just to feel somewhat normal. Things are starting to take a turn for the worse, so I finally went ahead and scheduled an ultrasound.
Does anyone have any actual advice, or maybe some kind of natural remedy to help ease the discomfort? What actually works in terms of herbs, diet, or teas when it comes to kidney health?
But please, don't just give me the textbook stuff you found on Google, I want to know what you guys have actually tried yourselves.
So, look, I’m obsessed with honey—like, it's a staple for me—but I’ve noticed that it triggers this weird skin reaction. It starts as these little red patches on my forearms and then moves to the inside of my knees before spreading out into these tiny red-and-white spots. The weirdest part? There isn't even any itching. Just... there.
As soon as I cut honey out of my diet, the whole thing clears up completely within about two days.
I’m actually working through that book right now, which got me thinking. The author writes about this stuff like you can just measure it at every single turn. But let’s be real—it’s clearly not that simple. And regarding what northerncobra27 said—well, I’d love to be 100% sure I’m being a total idiot at any given moment. Though, I have to disagree on the whole blood thing... Blood is pretty much the last thing in your system to turn acidic. So, if you ask me, saliva and urine are way more obvious indicators that something is going sideways with your body.
So, those test strips actually exist? Okay, that’s a solid tip. Thanks.😉
Does anyone know the easiest way to measure pH levels in urine or saliva, without having to go through the whole lab process with a doctor's referral?
I’m thinking along the lines of just picking up some kind of at-home test kit from a drugstore—kind of like those pregnancy tests you grab at CVS. Just simple and direct. Thanks
I was wondering if anyone knows where I can go in Washington, D.C. to get my water quality tested? Honestly, the water over in Brooklyn is leaving a massive amount of limescale buildup everywhere, and it's driving me nuts. I really want to get a professional reading done to see what's actually going on in there. If anyone has any leads or knows a good lab to use, please let me know.
I’m looking for some recommendations here. Also, does anyone happen to know if the paperwork can be transferred automatically via mail between doctors—like, from my current one to the new one once I move? Basically, how does that whole procedure actually work? Thnx
So, I just moved to New York City recently. Does anyone actually know how the whole process works when you're transferring between cities? Like, what does the paperwork look like? I’m looking to see a private doctor who accepts Medicare. It’s kind of urgent, thnx
P. S. Actually, if anyone knows an ultra-efficient private doctor who *doesn't* take Medicare, I'm open to that too. As long as they're super-duper good. Thnx
I’m the exact same way... I’ll find myself meal prepping for the next day or deep cleaning my apartment late at night, yet by morning, I need a solid two hours just to stop feeling like a zombie before I can actually be productive or creative. The only difference is that during the day, I can basically sleep whenever I want. It’s just that window from noon to 4:00 PM that really messes with my head...
I’m not sure if this is just my internal clock acting up or if there’s an actual medical term for this kind of insomnia, so I’m curious to hear if anyone else deals with this.
Basically, I never hit the sack before midnight. Even if I somehow manage to pass out around 10 PM, I always find myself wide awake again right around midnight. My brain is basically a slug in the morning, but once night rolls around—especially between 11 PM and 2 AM—I’m suddenly firing on all cylinders. Honestly, I have no clue what's actually driving this.
