As for potassium, you really want to keep that within the normal range, strictly speaking. But honestly, if you aren't feeling any weirdness—no weakness, no tingling sensations, nothing—then it’s probably not a huge deal and your body will just balance itself out. Though, if you happen to be on diuretics, then yeah, you definitely need to replenish that potassium; just eat a bunch of bananas or something. And if you're hitting the gym hard, potassium can slip away pretty easily from all that physical exertion, so just watch your diet based on what your body actually needs.

I heard that even with potassium, wounds don't heal right—anyway, I've got these symptoms, plus my iron levels are chronically low too.
It's kind of like when your blood gets too thick.

I deal with this exact issue myself; I get these insane itches, and the second I scratch, scabs just pop up instantly, and they won't heal for years.

So, I'm heading in for allergy testing in a couple of days—should I bring up these results regarding the clotting issues and the potassium to my doctor?

So now he’s finally gonna move after dragging his feet for an entire year—I literally told him, "If you don't move by then, you might as well kick the bucket,"
I mean, I don't know, maybe he just doesn't give a damn... it's all about his dignity and whatever else
He says he's going through with the move, but honestly, I have zero clue what the actual paperwork or procedure looks like
Part of me just wants to grab him by the hand, drag him straight to the doctor, and then just absolutely lose it on her

Thanks, but honestly, I’m telling him I’d swear at her top to her face if it meant we could just get this over with right now

Between the stomach issues, the early signs of arthritis kicking in down his knee, and needing to see a urologist... it's a mess. And his wife won't let him go. I mean, he hasn't really seen a doctor in years, not even for anything major—it's just not his thing. He doesn't care about taking sick days or whatever, he just wants the pain to stop bothering him once and for all

Does a patient actually have any right to demand a referral for a specialist visit, even when their primary care doctor keeps flat-out refusing to write one?

My boyfriend is dealing with some serious stomach pain—some kind of gastritis, or God forbid, an ulcer. It’s been rough because he dealt with a nasty bout of gastroenteritis last year, and ever since then, his stomach has just been a total mess. But this doctor? She won't budge on sending him to a specialist; she just keeps preaching about drinking tea and eating dry toast like that's going to fix everything.🙄

I used to be a total shut-in—full-on agoraphobia vibes—but I guess I finally managed to pull myself together somehow

I'm just terrified that if I start imagining the symptoms, they'll actually become real.
My diagnosis is depression and anxiety.
That's from two different psychiatrists.

That’s definitely not schizophrenia—look, my mom had a stroke once, and her hands went numb for a few hours right before she ended up in the ER in a coma. I totally convinced myself I was having the same thing happen to me back then, so yeah, that’s textbook depression right there. Honestly, things can spiral for a million different reasons... you can see for yourself that you aren't happy, which is basically what happens when stuff you hate is going on in your life. Just CHANGE it. No matter how much you're scared of the fallout, just change it.😘
The stuff is actually called liqueur, by the way
Honestly, I don't even know what else to say to you—just... please don't give up until you finally figure out what you're looking for, okay?😘
Swelling under the ear in Health ·
Ugh, tell me about it—I actually had some swollen lymph nodes right by my ear once. I ended up going in for those needle biopsies and everything, and honestly? They found absolutely nothing wrong with me. When I finally asked them why it even happened in the first place, they just gave me that classic "we'll never truly know" shrug.
Anyway, it eventually went down on its own and didn't really hurt much, so it wasn't a huge deal at the time.
But now you guys have me totally spooked with all this talk about tumors... I’m such a massive hypochondriac, I guess, so I'll probably be staring at the ceiling unable to sleep for the next week.
So, I’ve spent basically this entire year running every single test under the sun—blood sugar, iron levels, hormones, seeing endocrinologists, infectious disease specialists, dermatologists, OB-GYNs, you name it,
everything came back "normal," yet nobody could tell me what the hell was actually wrong with me.
They just threw some random creams at me—some Bepanthen and an iodine ointment from a brand like Johnson & Johnson—telling me to just slather it on, but honestly? It did absolutely nothing.
After a while, I just kind of hit a wall and gave up on the whole thing.
But then, I had a follow-up with my gynecologist recently to talk about birth control, and she scribbled in my chart that I could start once my coagulation levels improve... and it turns out that's actually about how my blood clots. Now I'm starting to think maybe there's a connection here, and I have no clue what to do next.
I’ll be real with you—the thought of dragging myself back to a doctor makes me want to scream, even though I know I probably have to go.
Does anyone here actually understand how this works? Like, is the clotting issue definitely linked to what I'm dealing with, and is there anything at all I can do on my own to get ahead of this?
Thanks.
honestly, every other find out there is actually decent
blood clotting tests / coagulation panels
So, I’ve got this weird issue where my scabs take forever to heal—like, we're talking a full year sometimes. That definitely doesn't seem right, I guess. My doctor hasn't really said anything about it yet, which is kind of annoying, but does anyone here know how to actually fix this? I just want to get rid of the problem because honestly, even the tiniest little scratch stays open for what feels like a hundred years.
thanks🙂
Quick question in Health ·
So, I just got my hormone levels back from the lab, and my OBGYN wrote on the report that I can start taking the pills once my coagulation levels—if I’m even getting that term right, haha—get back to normal.
Ugh, so now what? Like, what does that actually mean in plain English and what am I supposed to do next?
