Charles Young said:It looks like I’ve got this right in front of me—is this actually it? First, these white, watery blisters start popping up, and then the skin just starts peeling away and gets incredibly dry. I have very little bit of it between my fingers. I'm wondering how far this spreads and what specific type I'm dealing with.

Honestly, you really need to run this by a dermatologist. (If you happen to be in New York City, Dr. Pasic over on Salad is absolutely wonderful. My sister swears by her—she really knows her stuff!😁 ).

👍 Honestly, people like that are just sitting ducks for some "magic potion" sales pitch... (not gonna lie)

My point was actually about his American roots! 😁
(I mean, I get lectured enough about John Greenleaf Whittier already—and now here comes Eric...)

I mean, that's basically the mindset of every average American, right? 😎
The pros and cons of milk in Health ·
Allow me to jump into the conversation as well...
If you’re looking to load up on calcium, there is quite a spread to choose from—think broccoli, kale, spinach, oranges, peas, beans, tofu (basically anything soy-based), peanuts, sesame seeds, almonds, and even brown sugar; plus, if you enjoy seafood, salmon and sardines are fantastic options.
Now, here is the kicker—to actually absorb all that calcium, your body needs Vitamin D—and if you aren't getting enough sunshine (which, let's face it, can be a struggle depending on where you live!), you can find it again in fish or through fortified cereals. Also, just a little heads-up: phosphorus can actually interfere with how well that calcium gets absorbed, so you might want to steer clear of those sugary sodas.

My sister has been battling psoriasis for what feels like forever—we're talking a pretty severe case here. And now, suddenly, I’ve got these crusty patches popping up on my elbow (my doctor reckons it’s just stress, anyway). It seems to run in our family, too—apparently, some great-grandmother dealt with it... though honestly, this little spot on my elbow isn't even breaking my stride. I make sure to eat clean and stay active, so I suspect that's helped keep things at bay for me—quite the contrast to my sister, who has never quite been one for following medical advice 👎. It doesn't bother me much, personally; I practically grew up alongside her condition, so I don't carry any of those stigmas—though I certainly empathize with people who struggle with it, especially given how judgmental society can be... 🙄
By the way, over in the USA, they recently patented a drug called Alphabet (I was doing a bit of digging for my sister when I stumbled upon it...). The treatment lasts about three months, and in most instances, the psoriasis clears up and stays away for at least a year. The cost? Oh, just a tiny little trifle—about $10,000... 🙄
Living with Rheumatoid Arthritis in Health ·
My neighbor is actually living with rheumatoid arthritis. He’s only 40, yet you’d never know it—he lives such an incredibly active life! He’s constantly moving, whether he’s hitting the pool for some laps, scaling rock faces in the Rockies, or playing volleyball with his buddies... oh, and he actually quit smoking quite recently, too.
He told me that back when he first got the diagnosis—which was when he was just a kid, maybe nine or ten years old—he simply made up his mind right then and there to fight it with everything he had. Honestly, I have so much respect for his grit.

👍

Just three more, then three more after that... and boom, just like that, we've got ourselves another non-smoker. 🙂

restlesstiger31 said:So, I was just sitting here—thinking about life, mostly—and it hit me: what’s your take on the whole "working out at home" thing? Is it actually viable, or is it just a recipe for laziness? I mean, think about it! It’s like trying to cook a five-course gourmet meal in a studio apartment versus having a full-blown professional kitchen in a suburban mansion. You have all the ingredients right there, sure, but do you have the space? The setup? The sheer willpower to not just crawl back into bed when the couch starts calling your name? Personally, I find the idea both exhilarating and slightly terrifying—much like deciding to fix your own plumbing without calling a professional! On one hand, you save the commute, you skip the crowded gym memberships (no more waiting for the squat rack while some guy stares blankly at his phone!), and you can wear whatever ridiculous pajamas you want. But on the other hand... the distractions! It’s so easy to pivot from a set of lunges straight into a snack break—or worse, a Netflix marathon. What do you guys think? Is a home gym a total game-changer, or am I just dreaming of a fitness utopia that doesn't exist? Give me your honest thoughts!
I couldn't possibly pull that off—honestly! I mean, if you gave me a day or maybe two to get my act together, I might stand a chance, but as it stands? No way.

Go ahead—treat yourself to a little mini-stepper and get those legs moving! It’s honestly such a game-changer—think of it like having a tiny, portable treadmill right in your living room—so you can just kick things into high gear whenever the mood strikes! 😉
I am absolutely overflowing with an intense craving for the gym—truly, my soul is yearning for a good workout—but then there’s this persistent, nagging little voice in my head that just wants chocolate... it's a constant internal tug-of-war, really! One minute I'm visualizing myself crushing it on the treadmill at Equinox, and the next, I'm daydreaming about a rich, velvety Godiva truffle. It's quite the dilemma!😳 )

Benjamin Stewart82 said:b. she should probably stop going out for coffee, because then she'd likely manage to tackle point a too 😁

Wrong. First, you quit smoking, and then—suddenly—even coffee doesn't hit the same way. Since last fall, I've been drowning myself in all sorts of different teas. Meanwhile, everyone else around me is sipping coffee and puffing away...

c. she should hang out with people who don't smoke; if someone lights up right next to me, there's a tiny chance I won't feel the urge too.

Wrong again. If you REALLY want to quit, nothing is going to stand in your way.
But you actually have to make up your mind. It used to be that I’d catch a whiff of someone's cigarette out on the street, and I'd be practically racing home just so I could light one up. Now? Just the thought of it... God, seeing people walking down the sidewalk smoking looks so ugly...🙄 (They say former smokers are always the harshest critics 😁 )

Sarah King25 said:(I have to admit, I was actually quite taken by the fact that it’s based on true events—it adds such a fascinating layer to the whole thing!)

Well, it isn't exactly a documentary—at least not when it comes to Hopkins. That said, the segment involving the Native American massacre is surprisingly accurate (usually they're cast as the villains 🙄 ), and even that shot of the frozen chief is an exact match for those old historical photos.
To be honest, I mainly went to see it because of VM—he brings something entirely different to every single role he takes. Plus, I caught his photography exhibit which featured some incredible behind-the-scenes shots—for instance, that Ghost Dance sequence was just breathtaking; that specific angle looking over the rows of cannons toward the tents...
The movie felt a bit scattered to me—almost as if the director couldn't quite decide if he was making an action flick, a romance, or a period piece... you know, it’s a bit of a mishmash. Sadly, my local theater pulled it from the schedule after only two weeks, and I really wanted one more chance to catch it.
Considering it's Disney's, it actually turned out quite well. 😉
