Just one more thing:
I really want to soak up all that general knowledge—you know, being able to dabble in pretty much any field of science or life and actually making smart connections between them!
That’s how I’d get as close to perfection as possible! ☕

Anyway, I’m officially starting my quest for perfection today! Just finished reading up on the structure of the U.S. military, and now I'm diving straight into human biology!

Thanks for all the input!
I think I’ll just head over to the student clinic. They aren't really supposed to handle major health issues—mostly just routine checkups and paperwork—but fingers crossed they can squeeze me in!

I'm reaching out here because my doctor isn't in NYC right now, so I can't get an appointment anytime soon!

It all just hit me out of nowhere two days ago!
Blood in my urine, really bad stomach pains, burning, and this constant urge to go—it feels like I haven't left the bathroom!

The other symptoms disappeared just as fast as they showed up, but the burning is still there and my urine is still bloody!

What could this be? 🤔 What should I do since my doctor isn't available? 🤷

Look, let me bring up Singapore again as a more moderate example: over there, drunk driving can land you with ten years in prison... I'd bet my life on the top prosecutor in Singapore 😁 that their annual DUI death toll stays at zero...

I actually heard once that the death penalty is used there for drunk driving!
It was on some trivia game show or something... 🤔Not sure if it's actually true, though...

I really wish I could just be more well-rounded and cultured!
☕Like, knowing exactly when to speak up and when to just stay quiet.
☕And man, I wish I had the willpower to actually get things done, stick to my goals, and stay active instead of just sleeping my life away and living on endless cups of coffee!

slymaker9 said:Beauty, sex appeal, physical traits... does anyone actually want any of that?
Hair?😉

For me, it's definitely hair. Just waiting until I have some extra cash to go grab some extensions!

If only all those other qualities were as easy to buy...
placidjackal36 said:But honestly, there aren't even that many regular "Lies" posters with huge counts. It's mostly just clones. It's basically people trying to fake their way through. I actually feel bad that folks create alt accounts just to hang out and post normally. It really shows what's going on in some users' heads.

I mean, if someone hits a few thousand posts, pretty much everyone knows them—like, they’re your spouse, your mom, or a buddy...
So they make a clone just so they can finally be real on Lies! 🤣 🤣
placidjackal36 said:Lies is such a joke and needs to get its act together. It’s mostly just clones of forum users anyway, so it's not even serious. Hard to say for sure.
Don't sweat it. Everyone's there, seriously. 🙂

I don't know about that, especially since most people over there have thousands of posts and it feels like the same few faces every single time!

I get that some people use clones to mess around on Lies, but those guys aren't gonna have 10,000 posts!
Just wanted to jump in and add my two cents!

I’ve spent most of my time posting over in Psychology!
Honestly, it barely even relates to psychology, except for those few recurring professional topics.
A better name for that section would be "let's talk about human behavior and character"!
Though lately, I've been hanging out there quite a bit myself!
So you basically have tons of people who just love dissecting how people act, mixed with a bunch of folks feeling down, and that’s pretty much it... 😁

As for Fashion and Beauty, from what I've read, it feels like people there can't see past the surface. It seems like their whole world revolves around the latest trends, haircuts, manicures, and pedicures... You wouldn't call them psychologists, but they definitely come across as a bit shallow to me!

placidjackal36, what do you think about LJES?
For me, it’s honestly the worst subforum! I haven't seen this much rudeness or intolerance anywhere else—people just attack you simply because you don't agree with them. You say one thing, and they'll twist it seven different ways or make up four things you didn't even say... But the absolute worst part is when some kid asks a question and they immediately start making fun of them. 🙄
I haven't posted much on LJES myself, but I read a ton there before I even signed up, so that's just the impression I got...

Even if you have a point in some places, it is what it is. And let's be clear: I am not the kind of person who wastes time justifying myself to anyone. It's just not worth it. There are very few people I actually make an effort for—truly rare ones—and those are my idols, the people I consider better than myself and learn from. I have a high opinion of myself and, frankly, I think 90% of people aren't even worth my time. I know, I sound conceited, but at least I'm being honest. Maybe to some people, I'm just a bad person.

Oh, please, you definitely don't need to be friends with everyone!

I'm just saying, a person should be able to walk away and know where they stand.
And this whole thing you guys are doing... I don't know, it feels kind of childish. One person runs away while the other keeps chasing them down. Last time I saw that, I was in preschool!

Joshua Anderson17 said:Honestly, you’ve got it easy if it’s just some friend you're dealing with. Imagine having someone like that in your immediate family... I don't even know how you'd begin to shut them down without causing a massive scene.

My sister has absolutely zero concept of privacy, and she’s somehow convinced herself that my sole purpose in life is to act as her personal entertainer because she has nothing better to do with her own time. I’ll walk through the front door after a long day at work only to find her standing right there at the entrance... she follows me around my own apartment constantly, rambling about things that have absolutely no business being my concern. It doesn't even stop when I try to take a shower; she’ll actually sit in the bathroom while I'm in there... and it goes on like that until I finally go to bed. There was even one instance where she tried to sleep in my bed... and this is a thirty-six-year-old woman. When I finally try to push her away, she just turns it back on me, asking what I'm going to do now or where I think I'm going. It’s the same cycle, every single day.

And then, during those stretches when she actually has a boyfriend, she completely ghosts me, acting like I don't even exist.

They're truly unwell.☕

Things aren't exactly rosy at my house either. That's why we have local pubs. The second my wife starts talking, I'm already putting my shoes on to head out! 😁

It sounds like she's just doing this because she's lonely. Everyone needs some company! Just give her maybe 15 minutes of your time, then go make up an excuse to leave. I know how it feels when I've been stuck at home all day with nobody to talk to!

Hey, I just have to say this!

This totally reminds me of those girls back in middle school!
They act exactly like that!
If they don't want to hang out with someone, they won't just be upfront about it. Instead, they start all this drama and gossip behind their backs. Then, when that girl asks, "Are you mad at me?" they just shrug and say, "No, everything's fine," while still talking trash!
I was watching this documentary on school bullying recently, and honestly, the way people are acting here feels just like those middle school cliques.

Come on, man, just be a man. Grow some balls and tell the guy, "I don't want to be friends," and call it a day!

I'm not trying to be rude or pick a fight, I'm just being honest. Isn't that what this forum is for anyway?

Dana Morales64 said:It’s strange—you tell him exactly where you’re headed and what your plans are, and he just hits you with that, "Oh, you don't have anything better to do? Why head home already? Let's go somewhere else." The guy is relentless. And then he has the nerve to try and convince you that your schedule is wide open—as if he’s the one running my life. Honestly, what kind of idiot does that? When I finally told him he’d be catching hands if he ever showed up on my doorstep again, he suddenly went quiet. Look, I’m not usually the type to pick fights—I consider myself a pretty tolerant person—but when I feel threatened, I can get incredibly blunt and disrespectful. Sometimes, you just have to be harsh with certain people. There really isn't any other way to handle it.

Honestly, that's exactly how I talk to my girlfriends: "Come on, why stop here? Let's hit another spot!" Everything you're describing isn't actually that strange. That's just how friends chat!
He clearly hasn't picked up on the vibes, so maybe just be direct: "Look, we don't really want to hang out anymore. We aren't really clicking as friends, so please stop calling."
The only thing I take from this is that he thinks he's part of the inner circle, so he acts like it. He probably thinks you guys are closer than you actually are!

And go back and read what granitemason8 wrote...
There's some truth there!

There are better ways to handle this. Like, when someone is being genuinely obnoxious, you can deal with that normally without resorting to mockery or threats. You can actually have a conversation with a decent person!

The way you guys are reacting feels a little immature...
Dealing with difficult people? in Psychology ·
It’s not even a sickness, honestly. It’s just people who have zero clue how to actually talk to others!

I honestly just feel bad for them!

Maybe they don't have many friends, so they try way too hard to force a connection with everyone they meet.

Or maybe they're just socially awkward because they never really learned how to navigate a conversation, or they spent too much time stuck at home instead of being out in the world.

And about that guy asking you where you're headed or what you do for work—I do that with my buddies all the time! I don't see anything weird about it at all.

hollowtrucker77 said:This is just the typical introduction to all that American nonsense
In Europe, being topless was never some massive taboo, yet here we are with people acting like absolute fools, obsessed with it

And now, like total idiots, we’re dealing with this weird, parallel censorship targeting everything from toplessness to nude beaches

Spot on! You really nailed that one. 👍

Just feeling some peace today. It’s nice to finally have a quiet moment to myself. The user says:
Where on earth is everyone seeing this happen? Are you still living in some middle-age village or something? Your theory just doesn't hold water.
Just look around for a second—it’s everywhere. Between the ads, the fashion industry, movies, and whatever else you see online, there's nothing but skin and curves. Even when you're hanging out at the beach in Miami, seeing people tanning in bikinis is just totally normal now. Honestly, I don't mind it one bit. 😁
Maybe that was the case back in the 1800s or early 1900s, but nowadays everything is just out there because sex sells. 😉
Another thing—why do women "hide" their chests under bras? It’s purely for practical and health reasons. Honestly, it's for the best, because without them, everyone's chest would end up looking like that African woman in the photo. 😉

It’s all just boobs and butts everywhere, mostly just to sell porn or those men's magazines.
People get so weird about the beach, honestly. Like, some folks look at you funny if a girl wants to tan without a top!

gentlefox18 said:Since the dawn of humanity, even back when we lived in small, primitive tribes, there was always a clear distinction between women with striking, well-developed figures and those who were considered less physically endowed or attractive. It was widely believed that the most beautiful women were reserved exclusively for the wealthiest, strongest, and most influential men in the group. These high-status individuals often kept such women hidden away, viewing everyone else as unworthy of their attention.

This historical dynamic is precisely where the tendency to conceal female attributes originates. In more undeveloped regions of the world, such as parts of sub-Saharan Africa, there is no sense of shame regarding the body because social structures are much flatter; people live more equitably, and no single individual is viewed as superior or more beautiful than another. In those societies, true equality prevails.

I think I got the main point across, which is that men don't want other guys checking out their hot women so they don't get desired!
Could totally be one reason for it!

But honestly, that second paragraph of yours just doesn't work no matter how you spin it!

electrichound94 said:And what’s the alternative? What kind of "modern" social structure are we looking for? A nudist colony?🙄

Honestly, it's a good thing people don't feel the need to hide everything anymore. Personally, I don't see much effort being made to cover up breasts lately.🤷 On the contrary.

Some people still try to cover up, which just ends up upsetting all those "moral" citizens out there!

Society doesn't have to be a nudist club, but why does the TV have to censor nipples (while leaving guys alone) 😁, or why do people roll their eyes when they see a woman breastfeeding...

Besides, guys show off their chests all the time, so it's definitely not a nudist society!!
It's really just about how we were raised, so this feels totally normal to me!

Man, Freud was such an old-school head. To him, even eating a plate of lasagna is some kind of sexual impulse! Where on earth did you find him? 😁

Let's talk about this!

Do you guys think things have gone too far??? It feels like women are treated as sexual objects even when they're just trying to nurse their babies! I've said before that breastfeeding should be done privately—like stepping aside or heading to a restroom if you're out and about!

Honestly, it feels like the world has just gone totally crazy.

Brenda Cooper3 said:Established norms are notoriously difficult to shift, especially when there’s no perceived necessity to do so. 🤷

Let me put it this way: imagine you have a favorite dessert.
Do you eat it every single day?

Will it still be your favorite after a month of overindulging?

I’d argue that African Americans lose out significantly because they didn't push for women to wear bras.
Some things are beautiful, yet people fail to appreciate that beauty until it's gone. It’s often better to act as if a treasure is hidden... we can always play the part of clever pirates on a stormy sea... forever 😍

Honestly, bras are such an old-school invention. Women didn't wear them back then, but they definitely found ways to hide their chests! So it's really not even the same thing.
