I can't quite shake this "psychedelic" piece of music from Planet of the Apes starring Charlton Heston. It’s that specific track right at the beginning—you know, during the intro when their spacecraft crashes onto the planet and they start exploring the surroundings? I’m not entirely sure why, but even now, just thinking about those opening notes gives me actual chills. 😁
Hi there. I have a bit of a complicated situation on my hands, so I’ll try to lay it out as clearly as I can. If anyone can make sense of this, I would truly appreciate the help.
About a year ago, without any provocation at all, my father's sisters—with whom he has been locked in a legal dispute over property for about 15 years now—showed up in the yard of the house currently undergoing partition, where my grandmother and father live. Things escalated incredibly quickly; they started hurling insults, and it turned violent. One of them actually tried to hit my father in the head with a rock, while another kicked my grandmother—their own sister—right in the backside. A similar confrontation happened the very next day, though this time my father struck back by slapping one of them. The following day, my father reported the entire incident to the local police. When the officers arrived at our door, the aunts actually turned the tables and reported us for the alleged verbal abuse and fighting. A few days ago, we received a summons from the municipal court for a hearing where my father is listed as the 'defendant.' Since he is currently working out at sea and cannot physically attend the hearing, he submitted a written response to the court. However, just this morning, a new notice arrived for a date that again clashes with his work schedule, making it impossible for him to be present. This latest notice even makes mention of potential jail time. 😕
Specifically, I am wondering about a few things: why is he being labeled as the 'defendant' when they were the ones who trespassed onto our property and instigated the entire altercation? Furthermore, what happens if he continues to respond only in writing rather than appearing in person? Is it actually possible for him to face prison time, and what other types of penalties might be on the table?
My mom’s husband actually received a summons for a disorderly conduct law violation recently too, and he isn't planning on showing up in person because it's just not feasible; he's out working twelve-hour shifts far outside our home city. That said, he intends to send a formal letter explaining the circumstances behind his absence, as I believe you can't simply ignore the situation without providing some sort of explanation or reaching out. I mean, technically you could skip it, but...🤷
Are you experiencing any itching? Have you been on any antibiotics lately? I went through something very similar about a month ago—I noticed some swelling and a distinct thickening in the area—and it turned out to be a pretty intense yeast infection.

I'm right there with you. Why would I want some random person grabbing me in the middle of the street? Thank God I have plenty of people in my life whose hugs I can count on every single day, and frankly, that’s more than enough for me.
Thanks to everyone for the helpful advice; it turns out my suspicions were right, and I was officially diagnosed with a yeast infection today 😢 I’ve been prescribed a specific course of treatment, so we’ll just have to see how things progress from here... If you don't hear from me again, take it as a sign that I've finally kicked it, so please keep your fingers crossed for me 🙂
I really appreciate everyone chiming in with their thoughts, even if you were just stopping by to read.
It’s been about a week now, and while things seem to be "easing up" a little, I’m still nowhere near feeling like my normal, healthy self. I’ve been doing some thinking and I have a nagging suspicion this might be a yeast infection. It makes me wonder—could I just head to a drugstore, pick up some over-the-counter Monistat, and try to handle this myself without a doctor's visit or a formal diagnosis? Is it safe to essentially fly blind like that? Also, what kind of nasty complications am I looking at if this actually is a fungal issue? I’ll admit, I’ve been a bit negligent here; I really should have addressed this the moment it started instead of waiting. Now that the worst seems to be passing, I’m questioning if there's any point in calling my doctor first thing tomorrow morning. Will they even see me, or am I going to be stuck on a waiting list for a month before I can get an appointment?🤷
Hi everyone, please forgive me if I’m accidentally starting a conversation that’s already underway.
To give you some context, about four or five days ago, everything just went south out of nowhere regarding my genital area. There was this sudden swelling, followed by an unbearable itching that just won't quit. Because I've been scratching constantly—partly from the irritation and partly because of how quickly this escalated—the entire area feels raw and wounded. Even simple trips to the bathroom have become a total nightmare; there's this sharp stinging sensation whenever I urinate or even when I'm just trying to wipe. It isn't localized just to the labia, either; the discomfort seems to spread across the whole pelvic region down toward the anus 😳 It feels incredibly chafed and raw... I honestly don't know how else to put it. This morning, I actually noticed a few drops of blood on my underwear from those irritated spots.
Does anyone have any insight into what might be going on here?
Just for background, I’ve been dealing with some CIN1 and a localized infection, which I’ve been managing with antibiotic vaginal creams and suppositories. I also recently finished a twelve-day course of Doxycycline to clear up a Ureaplasma infection, which wrapped up about five or six days ago.

When you sleep on your side, it can cause the cervical spine to misalign, which might lead to some nerve compression—or something along those lines, I can't say for certain.
Well, in about 95% of my cases, I'm definitely a side sleeper.
Hello everyone! First off, please forgive me if I’ve stumbled upon an existing thread; there are just so many discussions happening here and I simply haven't had the time to comb through them all. I am in urgent need of some guidance from anyone who might understand the situation I'm facing.
I am 22 years old, and for quite a long time now, I have been struggling with chronic back pain. To be more specific, the pain around my shoulder blades, shoulders, and neck is absolutely debilitating. As the days go by, it feels increasingly unbearable; it has reached a point where after being on my feet for just about thirty minutes, I have to lie down and abandon whatever tasks I was working on—which, most of the time, involves studying. Sitting isn't much better either, as I tend to slouch quite a bit, which only exacerbates the discomfort. This has been an ongoing issue since I was a child, largely due to lugging around a heavy school backpack on one shoulder for years.
About two years ago, I briefly attended some physiotherapy sessions at a clinic near Mayo Clinic, following some supposed "light" electrical stimulation treatments applied along my spine and some professional massages. Unfortunately, nothing yielded any results. Since I had to wait nearly three or four months just to get those appointments (because we all know how agonizingly slow the waits can be in the public healthcare system), I was wondering if anyone could recommend a private, effective medical facility where I might find actual relief from this constant pain?
Additionally, I would love some recommendations regarding pillows. I currently sleep on what is marketed as a medical pillow, but it seems to do more harm than good, particularly because it makes my shoulders ache even more. If anyone has advice on what kind of pillow might suit my needs—or if you think using a specialized pillow is even worth it—I am all ears.
Regarding medication, I’ve been sticking to standard topical pain relievers, specifically Voltaren at the moment. If anyone has suggestions in that department, I would be incredibly grateful for the help.
And no, I am not expecting anyone to magically fix my problem; I am fully aware that only professional medical intervention can truly address this. However, as I mentioned, the waiting lists at the hospitals are catastrophically long, and I simply don't have the luxury of time. That is why I truly value any advice you are willing to share.
Since we’re already discussing the issue of cold hands, I thought I’d jump in and share my own experience for a moment.
Mine feel freezing constantly, regardless of what I'm doing. Even when I’m running my hands under warm—or sometimes even hot—water while doing the dishes, they just won't warm up. Is it actually possible that this could be some kind of underlying health issue that isn't necessarily tied to circulation?
Sorry if I'm repeating things people have already said; I stumbled upon this thread quite by accident and honestly don't have the energy to scroll through the entire conversation right now...
