It's a tough watch, but honestly? A total must-see. Especially if you're into heavy dramas.
Done. 😍
Last Night, I Had The most Beautiful dream. Dreamed I was just a tiny baby, tucked right in my mom's arms. She looks down at me, smiles, and calls me Lili.
Eric Hayes61 said:I honestly feel like Redmayne is overrated. Just because he snagged an Oscar for playing someone with a chronic illness doesn't automatically make him a top-tier actor. Honestly, aiming for an Oscar this year by playing a transgender character feels like a really cheap move on his part.
Let him play someone who isn't sick, disabled, or gay, and then we can actually judge what kind of actor he is.
Look, in this case, you'd call it queer. Gay and trans are two totally different things. Period. 😉
A fictionalized chronicle of the inner life of Marilyn Monroe.
After a traumatic childhood, Norma Jeane Mortenson becomes an actress in the Hollywood of the 1950s and early 1960s. She becomes World famous under the stage name "Marilyn Monroe", but her on-screen appearances are in stark contrast to the love issues, exploitation, abuse of power, and drug addiction she faces in her private life.
Netflix is dropping a trilogy this July based on those iconic teen horror books most of us grew up obsessing over—written by R. L. Stine 😍
July 2nd: Part 1; July 9th: Part 2 in 1978 ; Part 3 🍿
Each movie hits a different era:
Part 1 takes us back to 1994; Part 2 in 1978 ; Part 3 is set in 1666
The gist of it:
In 1994, a group of teenagers discovers that the terrifying events that have haunted their town for generations may all be connected — and that they may be the next targets. Based on R. L. Stine’s best selling horror series, the trilogy follows the nightmare through Shadyside’s sinister history.
I'm hyped for this!! 🎉🍿 Back in high school, I devoured every single one of Stine's books I could find in the States. Loved them then, and seeing Netflix turn the Fear Street Trilogy into a series is huge. 🙏
The movie was supposed to drop in January, but they pushed it back because of COVID stuff. No clue when it’s actually hitting theaters yet, but they’re aiming for sometime in 2021.
Quick plot rundown:
Petar Maraš is playing the big shot, using his status as an untouchable boss of the Mexican underworld. He wants to expand the empire and go legit, so he starts laundering the dirty cash into real businesses. Looking for a way in, he heads out to eastern Mexico with his ride-or-die, Baća, on a job. But while he's out there, some news hits him that flips his whole plan upside down..
This thing is gonna smash every record out there, mark my words 🙏
I’ve probably watched this thing three times since it dropped and it hits just as hard every single time. It’s that perfect, light mix of dark comedy and thriller vibes.
Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively are absolutely killing it here 🙏
Especially Blake. 😍 Man, I am obsessed with her.
I really want to pick up the book too, just to see how they stack up. Heard there are huge differences—like they changed a ton of stuff and totally made up things that never even happened in the original story.
The lead actress is just unbearable, seriously. 🤣 I’ve never really been big on Anne Hathaway—I mean, The Notebook was basically her only win for me—but here she is just straight-up annoying. ☕
Liked the ending, though. It actually had some weight to it instead of just leaning on those tired old Hollywood clichés.
I just get way more attached to the characters and the plot, which makes everything way more intense. Plus, the actual storytelling has so much more room to breathe and actually go somewhere.
Doesn't mean I won't sit down for a solid movie, but if I've gotta pick? Series, hands down.
It’s definitely not a horror movie, but the flick is good. Like, actually pretty good. Look, it isn't some cinematic masterpiece or whatever, but calling it a bad movie is just reaching.
Watched it last night. Total sleeper hit. Honestly, I expected this kind of quality from the producer behind Get Out—which, if you ask me, is the best horror flick we've seen in the last ten years.
The plot, the acting, the score, the sets, the vibe... everything just hits. It’s the whole package and a damn good Film. Highly recommend.
Watched it last night. Killer movie. 👍 The actor playing that psycho hit it out of the park. 🙏 Acting was top-tier too—totally believable. They built this insanely unsettling vibe. It’s not even jump-scare heavy, just pure tension.
SPOILER:
That part where they're chilling in the car and see those lights? Man, they actually flipped the script on one of those tired horror clichés. I was totally expecting the usual: "Oh, we're stuck in the middle of nowhere and heard a noise. Let's go outside and investigate!" Instead, they actually lost their shit and stayed hunkered down in the car until they were sure it was safe (even though nothing was safe, given what happens next... but you know what I mean). That was such a cool move. 🤣
Honestly, I wasn't expecting much, especially not a decent horror flick. Maybe that’s why this actually caught me off guard. Let's be real though—it's definitely not a pure horror movie, but the story and the vibe were totally on point. It was a legit pleasant surprise. The plot twist was pretty solid too, even if...
SPOILER ALERT
I actually saw a similar twist once in Supernatural, since the lead actress was in that show for a bit. Except instead of a doll, it was this little kid everyone thought had died. They spent the whole episode fighting a ghost, only to find out the kid was just hiding inside the walls of the house, just like the character in this movie.
The ending? Total garbage. Just a stupid, nonsensical way to wrap things up. If they hadn't completely butchered the finale, this would've been a solid movie. They had such a good rhythm going the whole time, then the ending just drags everything down. I'm not gonna spoil it because I don't feel like explaining the entire plot right now.🤣
Anyway, it's a perfectly fine watch if you're into creepy doll horror.😁
Greta is a young American woman who applies for a nanny job in a remote town in England, only to discover that the 8-year-old child she's supposed to be watching is actually a life-sized doll being raised by parents trying to heal from the loss of their son twenty years ago. Once she breaks some strict rules, a series of unsettling and unexplainable events bring Greta's biggest nightmare to life, leading her to believe the doll is actually alive.
Director: William Brent Bell Starring: Lauren Cohan, Rupert Evans, James Russell...
Weak. Seriously, weak. 👎 It's all effects, effects, effects. Zero points for the story. Zero points for the acting. And don't even get me started on the 3D—it was totally unnecessary. We all know that's just a gimmick to jack up the ticket prices, but still. ☕ Plus, it drags on forever. That’s a huge minus because the plot is so incredibly boring and predictable. You watch the first five minutes and you basically already know how the whole thing ends.
