So, I'm looking to pick up some new speakers and could really use some recommendations.
I’ve been running a 5.1 setup until now, but I think I’m actually ready to scale things down to a solid 2.1 system. I don't want to drop more than $333 on this.
Since most of my time is spent listening to music—though movies and gaming definitely make the cut too—I'm really hunting for something with high-end sound quality. 🙂

Instead of that current card (it's been giving me some real headaches lately!), I want to grab something else. Here are my top picks:

Actually, is there a third option out there that might be better? For the cash I’ve set aside, roughly $467 dollars, I’m really looking for something with an LED backlight, Full HD resolution, and an HDMI port. The main goal is gaming and watching movies. I definitely don't want anything smaller than 23"—honestly, I'd only consider going bigger than that.
What I’m trying to get at is that those two rear speakers might actually be doubling as your side channels in a 7.1 setup. In that configuration, you don't really have dedicated rear surrounds anymore.
But hey, if you’ve already run the tests and everything sounds solid... then honestly, you're golden.
