Finally, a legitimate announcement from a relevant artist. If you ask me, she’s a much more compelling booking than anyone else INmusic has put on the schedule this year...
Before you head out to the show, you might want to treat yourself to Mastodon Blood Mountain on colored vinyl, $50. The record is still factory sealed, featuring the original sleeve intact. ...
So, I recently picked up a new PC with Windows 10 pre-installed, and my intention is to hook it up to an LCD TV via HDMI to serve as a secondary monitor. The computer simply won't recognize the TV at all—oddly enough, everything worked perfectly back when I was running XP. Does anyone have any insight on how to resolve this...
goldenskipper72 said:Look at Catch Me If You Can from 2002, or movies filmed back in the sixties—they show those changes even better. You’ve got political stuff, war movies about the sixties, and even biopics that capture the era perfectly, like the one about Stone or The Doors....
To me, Catch Me If You Can is just the story of one unfortunate kid who, after watching his father be humiliated and seeing his family fall apart, decided to con everyone in sight just to feel respected and wealthy. Personally, I find the societal shifts depicted in Forrest Gump to be far more meaningful...😉
As for The Doors, it’s just another mediocre film by Stone. A much better film dealing with similar themes would be I Shot Andy Warhol...
Over the last decade, American TV series have consistently outclassed almost everything being churned out by Hollywood... For instance, I don't think any single film has ever captured the shifting landscape of the 1960s in the US with the same depth and meticulous detail found in a series like Mad Men.
Regrettably, aside from his work in the Kingdom of Thailand, he hasn't delivered anything worth noting over the last five years... far too little output for an actor of his caliber.🤷
Conan the Barbarian (1982), when viewed through a modern lens, is a rather mediocre film that hasn't truly stood the test of time; at certain points, it actually borders on the ridiculous. Schwarzenegger is a unique case—a limited actor who seems to possess only two facial expressions for every conceivable emotion, and even then, he rarely hits the mark. His enduring popularity seems largely confined to the more dim-witted segments of the right wing, which is perhaps the only logical explanation...😛😛
To prepare for his Oscar-nominated role as a drug smuggler providing supplies to AIDS patients in Dallas Buyers Club, Matthew McConaughey dropped an incredible 3 kilograms per week. His daily diet consisted of nothing more than a single serving of tapioca pudding, two diet Coca-Colas, two egg whites, and a small piece of chicken. The six-foot athlete managed to plummet from roughly 185 pounds down to a mere 143 pounds, leaving him looking like little more than skin and bones. An absolutely staggering transformation... It seems that Christian Bale is perhaps the only other actor willing to undergo such extreme physical transformations for a role—transformations that can take a serious toll on one's health and even become life-threatening...
A truly exceptional film. If Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto don't walk away with an Oscar this year for their performances, it will be a massive injustice... quite simply, their work outshines the rest of the competition by a wide margin.
