Does anyone know if there are any birth control pills covered by insurance through the government, or is America just a backwards place where you have to pay out of pocket for everything? Does anyone actually have the scoop on this?
Way back in the day, you could get things like Diane if you had a medical reason, like PCOS or whatever. Is that still an option under our healthcare system?
Or maybe they just want a bunch of tiny, starving Americans to keep multiplying, so who cares, right?
Also, I was wondering—besides the hormonal IUD, are there any pills that are strictly progestin-only? I’m dealing with an excess of estrogen, so I wanted to see if the U.S. market even carries those progestin-only options...
Most of the folks hanging out here are just flying solo, you know? It’s mostly a free-spirited crowd... so I was sitting here wondering what you all think... is it actually better to stay single and fly under the radar, or would you rather be in that "divorced" category where people have already blown up their marriages? Like—no thanks, I'd much rather be on my own than stuck in something broken... plus, you only get one shot at life, right? So if things go south and you end up getting a divorce, so be it, as long as you aren't just wasting away alone...
I'm genuinely curious about your take on this.

I'd say go with Duke over at Clap, though I wouldn't necessarily label him a gynecologic oncologist—he’s definitely an oncologist, but I'm not totally sure about his specific sub-specialty, if you even call it that these days...
So, does that mean if a woman has less dense breast tissue—whether she was just born that way or it’s just part of getting older...—then a mammogram is actually fine to go ahead with?
Honestly, Dove is pretty solid, you should definitely grab something from them.
Anyway, I don't know if it's just me, but ever since I switched over to those heavy-duty antiperspirants, I feel like my body just went into overdrive or something, and now I'm dealing with these massive sweat stains on all my clothes... which is so annoying because back when I was just using regular old deodorants for years, this was never even an issue!
A close friend of mine actually went through the exact same thing too.
What about you guys?
Jerry Morales4 said:I heard today that getting a divorce might be impossible if you're married to someone struggling with mental illness, since under Family Law, you aren't supposed to just abandon someone in that state.
Look, I'm no legal expert or anything, but honestly? That sounds kind of insane... I really don't think that's how things work at all!
Actually, it's the opposite. Even in the church, you can get an ANNULMENT if you can prove your spouse had those issues before you ever said "I do" and you had no clue... basically, if you can show you were kept in the dark about it when you signed up for the whole marriage thing.
And hey, if the church won't grant you an annulment for that, then well... I guess you've got your answer.
I love how brutally honest this question is, seriously... Most people are just gonna act all shocked and judgmental, but there’s hardly anyone actually willing to give a straight answer.
So, look, speaking for myself, I’d probably end up getting sucked into a relationship with someone like that, but honestly? It’s mostly because I have this massive, annoying issue where I feel like I always need to be some kind of hero, constantly trying to rescue or fix everyone in my life. But let’s be real—once things actually go south and the chaos starts hitting the fan, my survival instinct would kick in hard, and I’d be out of that mess before you could blink.
The bottom line is this—I don't think anyone with even a shred of a healthy, stable ego would ever consciously choose to date someone like that. But then again, there aren't exactly many people out there with balanced egos, so I guess those types can still find partners... it's just a matter of what kind 🙂
Look, don't go running to the doctor just yet, seriously, don't get all hysterical about it.
It’s probably just from being under massive stress, like, constant, non-stop pressure... I went through a phase where it was happening in both of my eyes at the same time, but once I finally got my act together and actually organized my life, the whole thing just vanished on its own...
It actually flared up again for a few days recently because I was dealing with some really heavy, emotionally draining situations, you know? But honestly, seeing my eye twitching like that was kind of a wake-up call that I was totally screwing myself over by putting this insane amount of pressure on myself, so I just headed home, tried to chill out, and after two or three days, it just stopped...
So, yeah, just try to figure out what's actually stressing you out this much and find a way to deal with it... and hey, don't sweat it too much, you aren't going to die from an eye twitch... 🙂
I mean, you could probably track it down in some old library or maybe at the Graska bookstore over in New York City if you're lucky enough to find a copy... just give it a shot and see if they'll let you borrow it. It’s been out of print forever, so it's a bit of a needle in a haystack...
Honestly, if you want to save some serious cash, just go with those semi-rigid lenses that you only have to swap out once a year... they come in around... $0.33 I mean, if you actually take care of them, those lenses can easily last you two or three years... honestly, most of this is just pure marketing fluff, and even my doctor tells me the exact same thing when we talk about it. I personally stick with soft contacts that I swap out every couple of years, though I’ve worn the hard ones before too—and frankly, those were way better for me since I deal with farsightedness and astigmatism. It feels like the whole industry just invented these "needs" as we get older just to squeeze more money out of us... it's all just a giant sales pitch. And don't even get me started on those "daily disposables." My ass. Based on what they tell you, I should probably be legally blind by now at this rate... ugh...
I wouldn't have walked away... That's what I was thinking anyway...
I totally get why you’re asking that, and honestly, I’ve been staring at the same dilemma myself... It really just comes down to the individual, you know? If someone strikes me as having that inner strength, then yeah, maybe. But if they seem fragile—like, if I sense they might just crumble or spiral when things get heavy—then I’m out. But if they're solid? I'd definitely give them a shot.
Take this friend of mine, for example... both her parents passed away from cancer, which means statistically speaking, she’s looking at a massive risk of facing the same thing way too early in life. She’s ended up staying with this guy who deals with diabetes, mostly because she’s convinced herself that nobody else would ever want her... and honestly, he feels pretty much the same way about her too.
Me? I want to be with someone who isn't going to bail the second life gets messy... someone who stays even if I get hit by a car and end up paralyzed, or if I struggle with something like schizophrenia. Maybe my expectations are way too high, but I’ve spent my whole life trying to build myself into the kind of person who wouldn't walk away from a partner just because they got sick. I wouldn't do it, there's just no way.
And yeah, I really hope this ends up being the last summer you spend feeling this bloated... 🙂
Hey, thanks for the comment, I guess we’ll see... I still need to sit with this decision and let it sink in.
About those results of yours, I honestly think you're doing pretty great. The typical six-month average—which is something Trump won't tell you—is about 25 or 30 pounds, so you're actually ahead of the curve. He tries to use that kind of talk to "motivate" people, but personally, it just totally killed my vibe. He was never outright rude or anything, but he said the exact same stuff to me, and it just felt super patronizing. You can't judge a person by their weight, even if his intentions are good and he's actually grown on me quite a bit lately... though I'll admit, I wasn't exactly a fan at first. :-)
So, bottom line: your progress is awesome, so just keep grinding and DON'T GET OBSESSED WITH THE SCALE. I realized I was spiraling because I was so terrified of what he'd say when he weighed me at the start of August, and that pressure just sent me into a tailspin over the last few weeks... instead of losing 15 pounds, I ended up gaining all 16 back. I don't know about you, but my advice is to just tune him out completely and stick to your own pace. Even if you only lose a pound a month, it's better than nothing or, even worse, going backward! You feel me? 🙂
Anyway, tell me, did he actually lose any weight? I heard from the nurses that he's on that UN diet, and the last time I saw him, I'm pretty sure he'd dropped at least 30 pounds, because his gut was way smaller. How does he look now?
I'm not so sure about the waist trainer thing. I have a friend who used one and she lost a ton of weight, but then a hundred other health issues popped up. I mean, nothing is ever perfect, right? Plus, I already feel like I'd be the type of person who stays fat even while wearing a trainer. Just look at Walton. I've got a feeling she actually gained weight!
Alright, I guess it's my turn to chime in and vent... It’s been about six months since I had the balloon removed, and honestly, the whole situation is just a total disaster—I’ve already gained back every single one of those 16 pounds I worked so hard to lose. I’ve got my final follow-up appointment coming up in a few days and I am feeling absolutely miserable about it. I know Trump isn't going to yell at me or anything, but man, I feel like such a failure...
Now I’m starting to seriously consider getting the gastric band, but I have zero clue what the actual process looks like. Has anyone here actually gone from the balloon straight to the band? And honestly, part of me is terrified they’re just going to write me off as a lost cause or some hopeless case! Do I really have to redo every single medical test from scratch? Is there anyone left among you guys who’s actually seeing results...
Hey everyone,
So, I was venting on here a little while back about my absolute nightmare experience with Sugarman bakery... specifically regarding that cheesecake they sent me. It showed up completely smashed, covered in these weird little crumbs, and honestly? It tasted revolting. I had originally planned to give it as a gift, but after seeing that disaster, there was no way in hell I could present it to anyone...
I ended up shooting them a message through their website, and they did the whole apologetic routine, offering me a replacement cake of my choice, which they eventually delivered.
I guess you could say it partially made up for the mess, since it wasn't for a birthday or anything high-stakes, though god knows the communication was painfully slow... and besides, the whole point was that I wanted to hand-deliver this gift personally, but how could I do that with the mangled wreck they sent me the first time?
There’s that old saying, "Better late than never," and I suppose that applies to the replacement cake, even if it did take forever to actually show up...
But look, everything would have been fine if I hadn't just opened my inbox today to find a direct message from them, basically demanding that I delete the post I made about them on this forum!!!!
Can you believe the sheer audacity and nerve of these people!!!! I’m just sitting here stunned by the level of disrespect... it’s been a pattern with this bakery since day one, but asking me to scrub my honest feedback? That is truly the absolute peak of their entitlement!!!
And don't even get me started on how amateur they are... I mean, how does someone who claims to be a "professional" with "years of experience" in the baking "art" fail to figure out basic, decent packaging for delivery? They clearly didn't bother fixing their shipping until they saw my email and my post right here on this forum!!! The only reason they even bothered sending a replacement was because I called them out publicly!!!
Every other bakery in town figured out proper delivery ages ago, and the only reason I even touched this third-rate dump was because every other shop was closed for delivery on Sundays!
Next time, I'm going to be much more careful with who I order from, just to make sure the quality is actually there and the delivery isn't a joke... plus, I won't have some random business hounding me on internet forums!!!!
My verdict on this place is FINAL AND FOREVER: I am never stepping foot in that shop again! And honestly, I’d strongly suggest the same to anyone else who doesn't feel like losing their mind over a dessert!!!!!
Hey everyone!
I see there's a whole debate going on about wedding cakes and other big celebrations, so I just felt the need to vent about my experience with that bakery near the downtown farmers market...
Just something to think about before you trust them with anything important, because they might just leave you hanging when it matters most! 😢
So, I ordered this cake as a gift, right? I requested delivery for Sunday afternoon since I needed it first thing Monday morning. The cake arrived, I paid the delivery fee, whatever... then I actually look at it—the damn cheesecake was completely cracked! Because they used these super cheap, flimsy containers without any actual support, the whole thing just split into four jagged pieces!!! And I was supposed to give THAT to someone as a gift????
Anyway, I tried to "fix" it so nobody would notice, but obviously, that’s impossible because we aren't talking about a little crack here, we're talking a full-on FRACTURE. And all of this just because the owner is being stingy with decent packaging! When I ordered the exact same kind of cake from Lobby, they gave me proper packaging and that cake could have traveled with me all the way to Mars and still been perfect. AND IT COST THE SAME AMOUNT, not even a penny more!!!!
I was just beyond devastated... the whole moment was ruined, basically. It was awful! I couldn't do anything else or order from somewhere else in time. I felt so pathetic.
Long story short, I left a review on their website, which they obviously didn't publish, but they did promise to send me a replacement cake. So I figured, fine, whatever, just deliver it to this address and let me know once it's done. Well, five days have passed and still nothing has arrived!!!
Then today they hit me up saying they've notified the person that they'll be delivering it. Like, seriously, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE YOU TO BAKE A CAKE AND DROP IT OFF? Not to mention the surprise factor is totally dead by now! They had the address, and the phone number is just for technical stuff, not for giving some six-month notice that a cake might show up one day.
Basically, after six days, there's still no sign of the cake, and even the one they eventually sent tasted weird and was covered in these strange crumbs that tasted disgusting. Those were never in the picture before, either.
Anyway, my advice is if you have an important occasion coming up, especially a big birthday or a wedding, please find another bakery. Because these guys might actually deliver your treats, but it'll probably be six months after the date you actually agreed on.
P.s.
Not to mention the delivery guy harassed me all week asking why the delivery wasn't until five o'clock and if there was any way I could get it earlier...
