That’s a pretty weak analogy.

McLaren is like a girl you have to chase just to get a look, except she’ll probably let five other guys take a shot right after you 😛 whereas Ferrari is just an outright flirt who doesn't even bother pretending to be decent 😁

In the end, they're both trouble, but at least with the Ferrari situation, you know exactly what you're getting into. 👍

Nando is totally chickening out 😬 I guess he'll start waving his hands frantically at Mass next 😁 😁 😁

😬

Come on, Nando 👋 We really need a win 👋

As long as they don't wreck each other 🙈

Give me a break. If Button had about 60 points right now and we were looking at this exact scenario over at McLaren, you really think they wouldn't do whatever it takes to ensure Lewis finishes first? Anyone who thinks otherwise is being incredibly naive. Whether it’s done through direct orders or some subtle coded messages, the end result is just as unfair. Though, I suppose you could argue whether it even counts as "unfair" when you consider the massive stakes, the money, and the underlying politics, much like what Blaze and Novak were mentioning earlier.

That whole fuel situation at McLaren is basically just a team order 🤷 wrapped in a slightly more sophisticated disguise, but it's still transparent to everyone watching. We all know team orders exist; it’s nothing new or surprising. The only difference is the method—at McLaren, they use fuel levels, whereas here they just tell Mass that Nando is faster, which he actually 😁
was.
So, what is the actual difference in the grand scheme of things? Let's not be hypocrites 😁

I don't see why anyone is acting like he earned it. It's not like he actually had to fight for it 😬 It was basically handed to him on a silver platter 😁

Man, Seb, what a total mess 😲

In his obsession with keeping Alonso from overtaking him, he ended up losing two spots instead of just one 🤦

Plus, that move to squeeze Nando out was pretty dirty... I guess the kid still hasn't quite grown up yet 🙂 😳

And it's pretty obvious that racing on home soil is still getting to his head 😬

Awwww, look who decided to show up. 😍😍😍

😁

Is he seriously acting like such a crybaby? (I guess Webber might actually be closing in on that title soon, though.) I mean, they probably told him to just hang tight and wait to reclaim his spot while they had some talks with Charlie... right up until it was way too late. 🤣 🙂

redheron12 said:hmm, a total distraction tactic. A personal attack on me just to shift focus from the fact that Domenicali is being completely inconsistent with himself—and probably terrified that someone (looking at you, Alonso) will call him out for lacking any real aggression.

Come on, you have to admit it's pretty ridiculous 🤣 how you went after me and tried to discredit my point using your own unreliable sources 🤣🤣

And oops... looks like you lost track of the time... I guess I managed to throw you off your game a little bit. 😳 😁

As for Domenicali, well... honestly, I'd be the first one blaming them for reinstating the position immediately. It wasn't even an irregular move to begin with; it was just a standard racing incident where Robert's car simply got pushed off the track. 🤷 😁

Bahah, are you kidding me right now?! 😂 You're pulling your info from this exact post 🤣 I was just quoting a section of the text from YOUR own "source," Rain 🙂 🤣

Actually, my sources have mostly been coming from CBS, babe 😁 who, if they even bother being biased, are probably biased toward your guys first 😘

Here is a snippet from Coulthard's commentary, which pretty much sums up everything regarding Webber and Vettel:

As Christian Horner explained, his team were in an invidious position. With just one new front wing and two hungry drivers, he applied a logic he felt would give Red Bull The Best chance of winning The championship. That is his prerogative.

"The mistake Red Bull made, and which Christian has admitted, was that they did not go into the weekend with that system already in place and publicly known; that way they would not have left themselves open to accusations of partisanship.

And I think this part is spot on 😁

"This is not sitting on the fence. this is The paradox of formula One. The driver-team relationship is One of The most complex in sport; a multi-million pound marriage with the divorce papers signed on the same day as the wedding. The relationship will end; that much is certain. It is just a question of time. During that time, both sides will try to extract the most they can from the partnership.

And then there's this 😲

"There were reports on Sunday Night that Mark 😬 I have no idea if that is true – I have to say I sincerely doubt it – but race teams are tight-knit communities so this is undoubtedly a very big test for Christian.

Team chaos 😵

Michael Lee4 said:So what's your excuse for why Ferrari ignored the warnings? The FIA issued a statement saying they warned them three times—does that just not hold water for you? Are you suggesting the FIA is making things up?

My question is when they actually received those warnings, and whether Robert was already too far gone due to his mechanical issue (though, honestly, the real question is whether he should have even given the position back since Robert pushed him off the track, but let's set that aside for now). I'm wondering how the whole situation actually unfolded.

Ferrari's take is this: at the moment race control instructed us to give the position back to Robert, it was clear he had already lost too much time. It was obvious he was having trouble and had fallen behind.

If they got the warnings right then, what exactly could they have done?! Unless Alonso is supposed to just throw it into reverse, drive backward to catch up to Robert, and pull up behind him? 😁

James Smith50 said:I guess they might actually know what they’re doing, and they certainly have more experience than you Alonso fans could probably fathom... after all, Mansell was right there.....

Oh, and Coulthard mentioned the exact same thing on the BBC after the race—as if that proves these driver-advisors don't really have much sway over the stewards or their calls 😁 since Mansell would likely view it as just a racing incident himself and wouldn't suggest a penalty for it.😁 hihihi 😍 😁

Roger Wright94 said:First off, we don't actually have a clear timeline for how those conversations went down or how the whole situation unfolded. I guess we're pretty much in the dark about the actual sequence of events.
Until we actually have that in hand, I guess your assessments aren't exactly fair.

Do you honestly believe that people who do this non-stop—the actual professionals who live and breathe this stuff—are really as clueless as you seem to think they are?

👍

Even if everything turned out exactly how you all claim it did, and they actually... At the exact same time. So, they actually signaled him—well before Kubica had even started slowing down—and then they went ahead and repeated it three times. 😁So, they're supposed to just hand back the lead or face a penalty? You guys seriously think they’d actually listen to that? I mean, come on. As if they’d ever go for that. 🤣

If they really were that much of a bunch of morons and lunatics—which is what you guys seem to be implying—then I guess they would have probably just ignored this drive-through later on, too. 🤣 🤣

Michael Lee4 said:So, I guess the FIA just hates unspecified drivers, which is why they slapped him with a penalty?

I really love this subforum. 🙏

It seems pretty obvious the FIA has nothing better to do than hand out penalties for things that actually matter and things that don't, at least in my opinion. 🤷 😁

But if we're being logical, the whole point of a penalty should be to give Robert back his "undue advantage." Instead, they just gift positions to everyone else. 😁 Since Robert couldn't reclaim the spot anyway...

Oh, and David Coulthard was already on the BBC claiming the penalty was totally unjustified and just a racing incident. 😳 😁😁

Michael Lee4 said:I can't quite recall, refresh my memory...

He left him just enough room, maybe by a hair😍

And what does that have to do with Fernando Alonso?

Well, if you're just out to hate on Fernando Alonso blindly, then I guess it doesn't matter at all.😁

I suppose this whole debate really boils down to whether it's more biased to blindly loathe him or to worship him.🙏 🤣

I honestly love this subforum.😍
