Webber didn't give Vettel any room, plain and simple. He pushed him out—it was just a little nudge toward him and then boom, everything goes south.

man, you've got your wires totally crossed here....

Webber wasn't pushing him off. If you actually watch the replay—just look at Webber without Vettel in the frame—you'll see the guy was just driving his usual line. Once he realized the other guy was coming for him, he just hugged the edge of the track....

I mean, yeah, he could've left more space, but he didn't....

He gave him just enough room for the car to squeeze through...

And honestly, staying right there until the end of the corner was key because Webber was in a way better spot by the exit than it looks... since Vettel would've had to brake way earlier in that situation, and then Webber would've just shut the door and that's that....

We've seen this exact thing a million times before, but obviously, an impatient Vettel tried to jerk Webber out of the way to open up some space and ended up hitting him......

Just watch the clip again.

If you check the footage from Vettel's cockpit, you'll see he had more than enough room to pass. Honestly, it's on the kid himself for having zero patience....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Z0cj...eature=related

And here's a second angle for you.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JOw5...eature=related And when you see how much faster Vettel was compared to Webber, you realize Webber started closing that line way before Vettel even made his move, mostly because he was being forced into those slower movements....

So, if you really want to nitpick Webber, the only thing you can say is he didn't let him through—and I'm talking about him not letting his own teammate through, mind you....

And honestly, if you don't have a brain in your head, it doesn't even make sense to think Formula 1 wouldn't have these unspoken agreements, no matter how much people might complain about it...

Like, if people claim there are no "team orders," I don't see why Webber would just hand it over, regardless of the fact that we're all used to seeing teammates swap spots....

Look, this isn't some amateur street race, it's Formula 1.

redheron12 said:That would be one thing if Webber had just stepped back into F1 yesterday, but honestly, even a casual fan knows Webber is a tough nut to crack and you really have to watch your step when you try to overtake him. Vettel was definitely faster, and he really should’ve handled that move way more smoothly. He didn't, so yeah, the guilt falls squarely on him. 😉

And that's exactly where the issue lies—the guy just lacks patience, which we've seen pop up a few times over the last two seasons...

From messing around with Webber to those messy moments where he collided with Kubica... I mean, there might be more, but those two are the first ones that jump to mind.

He had the pace, too, and plenty of time to play it cool and sort things out, but instead, he ended up settling those situations by crashing, and that's entirely on him.👎

Man, what an idiot 🤦

Look, I’m actually convinced it works the other way around—like, even if Vettel had the points lead and Webber was trailing behind, there wouldn't be any real difference at Red Bull.

I mean, I don't really see why you'd call him an idiot...

First off, personally, I don't think it would be the reverse if we were talking about Vettel, and if it were, man, I'd have to take my hat off to him...

And I gotta say, thank God there’s at least one team out there that lets their drivers actually race instead of putting on some circus act or playing these weird math games....

I'm still holding out hope that one day comes where money doesn't just screw up everything it touches.... 👎

So go ahead, report it if it makes you feel better, but that’s not gonna change the fact that it wasn't Webber's fault in Turkey.

I don't even get why people waste their breath arguing over his posts when they don't make any sense logically at all....🤷

Honestly, I'm not even bothering to reply anymore. If you've got half a brain, you just watch how he was getting absolutely hammered by the whole car... but hey, he's the expert, right? 🙏

stormybadger8 said:I totally get where Webber is coming from, man. His moves make perfect sense to me—there really isn't any other way for him to play it. He knows he can't just snatch the championship solely based on his own driving talent, so this whole mess is basically because he needs Vettel to just step aside and let him through every single race, while keeping the rest of the competition at bay.

What are you even talking about???' "solely on his own driving"... dude, for crying out loud, the guy has the exact same number of wins as Vettel, except Vettel snatched that one clean win away from him during that collision involving Lewis Hamilton...

Look, you might not like a certain driver, but downplaying them like this? Man, it’s like we're disrespecting Ayrton Senna or something.🙄

Doesn't matter, the point is he stirred the pot and totally threw Sebastian Vettel's crew off their game.🤷

Yeah, it’s pretty obvious because Red Bull hasn't had a single logical move all season—this whole year proves it.🤣

Man, you really summed it up in just three sentences there.🙏

First off, you can't judge a driver if they aren't willing to do absolutely anything to grab that world title...

And look, we can all talk our trash, but Mark is the one living in that garage 24/7; he knows exactly what's getting under his skin.

It’s only natural he’d lose his mind seeing things play out like this. And honestly, I won't even get into that whole wing drama, but I'd be losing my mind too if parts were being stripped off my car just to give them to the guy chasing me in the standings.

Plus, it feels sketchy, like nobody on that team actually has their head on straight right now.

Looking at the scenarios for the final race, I wouldn't even be surprised if they both just smash into each other, especially if they end up running 1-2.👎

cosmicridge5 said:I love you like a brother, Joshua Newman2, but man, you totally missed the mark on this one. 😁

If you haven't caught onto Webber's character flaws by now, I’m honestly not even gonna bother listing them anymore. It's like trying to describe the sun to someone who can't see—just a total waste of breath. 🙂

And this other thing—come on, give me some actual, concrete examples—besides that one famous wing everyone’s already written entire novels about—that prove Red Bull is actually pushing Webber into that No. 2 spot?!

It just goes to show how a lie, if you have someone like that absolute psycho Webber repeating it over and over again, eventually starts feeling like the truth. 😁

Look, the kid didn't miss the mark at all... he actually nailed it. He said exactly what needed to be said.

What kind of defects are we even talking about here? Seriously, just lay it out for me. I’m basically flying blind over here, man... so if you could just point me in the right direction and pull me along, that would be huge.

Just let those weird wings go, man... they don't even matter in the grand scheme of things.

Just look at the points standings with only three races left on the calendar and then take a good long look at how Red Bull is actually playing the game...

Honestly, I’m actually kind of relieved that Red Bull isn't dealing with those messy team orders like Ferrari does. But man, look at the absolute disaster Ferrari pulled off in Germany. It’s like they only have a theoretical shot at winning, yet they’re still out there screwing over Felipe Massa just so some crybaby can snag first place.

I'm not saying Sebastian Vettel should've just let Mark Webber go at that exact moment, but look, some things just have to be handled. You can't just wing it; you've got to sit down, make the call, and actually agree on the plan beforehand. It’s like when you're trying to coordinate a group trip—if nobody agrees on the destination or the budget ahead of time, everything just falls apart. Sometimes you just have to take decisive action and get everyone on the same page.

So, look, Vettel is here now, but let’s be real—he only made this move because he’s basically at war with Webber. It’s a total mess. And since Red Bull refuses to step in and play peacemaker, they’re just letting the drama unfold. Honestly? Because they won't pick a side or fix the tension, there's a massive chance he's going to blow the championship. It's like watching a house fire while the firefighters just stand there watching.

Man, who even remembers that whole showdown between Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso back when Kimi Räikkönen was the champ? Just one of those wild eras, I guess.

Honestly, even now that the blue team finally got their act together... if they had just pulled it off sooner, we’d be talking about a championship title right now. It's crazy how close it feels.
If they hadn't been constantly crashing into each other, we wouldn't be looking at those massive points losses for Webber... which basically brings us right to where we are now. It's crazy to think about what could've happened if they just played nice.

Look, no team would ever act this way if they weren't banking on Sebastian Vettel. It’s pretty obvious, right? They’re basically building their entire future around him, just holding their breath and hoping he can pull off that championship run.

Look, I get it. It’s more about the love of the game than being some thirty-something champion, and honestly, I can respect that. But you just can't sit there and claim Webber wasn't the No. 2 driver. They didn't give him any kind of edge over Vettel... nothing at all.

Man, I was actually pretty stressed out yesterday when they played that team radio clip of Sebastian Vettel asking about his tire situation...

He says things are looking good, but honestly? I don't care. I still want to be the first one hitting the pits. 🙏

I mean, what part of that is confusing to you? 😉
Brazil vs. USA - Nov 7, 2010 in Formula 1 ·
stormybadger8 said:rustystag7, have you even watched this season besides following your precious Felipe Massa or what?

Mark Webber isn't just some whiner. 🤣🤣🤣

I mean, look at him complaining about being treated differently within the team when he hasn't had a single mechanical failure this season—not one screw-up in the pits—compared to all the absolute garbage failures Sebastian Vettel has dealt with. Yebote, if the roles were reversed, I’m positive Mark Webber would be whining so much he'd have stripped the untouchable Fernando Alonso right off his throne. 🙏

And that whining from Mark Webber back in Korea? You didn't see that. That guy isn't just a crybaby; he's actually using his position as drivers' representative to fuel his own whining. 🙄
In the biggest race of the year, he spins off the track like some rookie driver experiencing Formula 1 for the first time 🙄 and then still has the nerve to talk trash about his own team. 🙏

For me, that race was peak entertainment, especially that line from Lewis Hamilton reacting to Mark Webber’s complaining, something like: "I'm thinking about heading to the pits for some Slick tires" 🤣—I mean, it's a rainy race, people, what are we waiting for?

Little Lewis Hamilton—I don't even like the guy—but just because of that comment, he stays in my good books. 🤣

Eto, I'm convinced the situation would go like this:
Red Bull - Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber wouldn't even touch the constructors' title, let alone fight for the championship.
Ferrari - Felipe Massa and Sebastian Vettel - Sebastian Vettel wins the title without a hitch.

Red Bull - Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso - honestly, who knows, but they'd probably grab both titles; the only question is who takes the drivers' trophy.
Ferrari - Mark Webber and Felipe Massa - man, what a joke, they'd be trailing behind Williams, assuming Felipe Massa had maybe two or three times more points than Mark Webber.

Look, man, reading your posts, it's obvious you just can't stand Mark Webber, so you aren't being objective at all...

What are we even talking about? Of course Mark Webber is going to shout from the rooftops that he isn't getting equal treatment in the team—he's trying to put public pressure on Red Bull.

If you have even a shred of sense, you'll realize this is Mark Webber's last shot at a title, and the team is going to dig deep to make sure he gets it by any means necessary. Naturally, he's going to be on edge when he's not getting equal footing in the garage.

It's crazy to talk about "what ifs," though. Last season everyone was saying Kimi Räikkönen would overtake Felipe Massa, and that didn't happen. The season before, people thought Fernando Alonso would take the title at Mercedes ahead of Lewis Hamilton, but someone else took it.

But for me, it's just hard to wrap my head around the idea that when you're leading the standings, the team isn't standing right behind you...

I think these issues and the technical glitches—if Mark Webber didn't have them, it's pure luck. Nobody sabotages a car or messes up in the pits on purpose, but you can see things happening in certain situations, like that famous wing incident...

That's how you see what a team is really capable of doing...
I'd bet my right hand that if the situation were flipped, Mark Webber would have been the number one driver before the second race even started, and that's that.🙏

but seriously, who’s actually gonna take the fall if Fernando Alonso clinches the title???

and man, just think back to all that mess with Sebastian Vettel when he squeezed Mark Webber and basically robbed the guy of first place....

I pretty much checked out right when everyone started claiming Mark Webber was the one at fault for that whole incident...

look, man, if you managed to sneak past someone and now you're trying to act like you earned it, just stay in your lane because nobody sane is gonna move for you....

it's just racing....

and Lola is just trying to grab a spot and ends up diving right at Mark Webber....

then it goes on to show how crazy Mark Webber is being... I mean, where else does that happen, Yebote, only in Formula 1...

It's a far cry from saying Mark Webber is some kind of god-tier driver because he isn't, and honestly, neither is Sebastian Vettel right now—if those two were actually on the same level, the title would already be locked up and we wouldn't even be talking about this, since they've got that absolute rocket ship of a car this season....

but hey, I eto picked Mark Webber's side because I know if he wants that championship, he's gotta step it up way more than Sebastian Vettel, and if you ask me, that's just how it is.

Gary Palmer8 said:Man, I honestly have no idea how you even ended up on an F1 forum, but saying Sebastian Vettel is more of a softie than Mark Webber? That’s hands down the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever read.

Man, Mark Webber has been whining since the day he stepped foot in Formula 1.

Man, this guy loves to talk trash about everyone else, but then he goes out and pulls stunts that are just straight-up ridiculous. It’s actually kind of wild to watch.

So, yeah... honestly, he’s terrified of hitting the track if it gets even a little bit damp. And I mean, after what we all saw, can you really blame him? It's one thing to talk about grip, but it's another thing entirely when things actually go sideways like that. We've all seen the footage. Once you see how unpredictable it gets, you just don't want to be the one out there when the surface turns slick. 🙂

Maybe it sounds kinda ridiculous, but honestly... it’s the truth.😉

Seriously, you guys can't even handle it when someone calls out your favorite driver without turning it into a massive flame war? It’s wild.🤷

Look, I don't really care who’s scared of what—I keep saying that over and over—it doesn't matter. At the end of the day, all that noise is just talk. What actually matters is what gets shown out on the track.
Favorites only exist on paper, man. Honestly, that blue car is nothing more than a pretender when you look at how they actually stack up against Mark Webber.🙏

I mean, when the entire team gets caught up in some drama for whatever reason, you can't really act surprised when the media starts losing its mind over it... it's just how things work.🙏
Look, from what I can see, Mark Webber isn't some kind of pushover on the track or anything. He actually drives. 🙏

At the end of the day, if I had to pick, it’d be Mark Webber. There's just something about that dynamic—having a teammate right there in front of you. But honestly, the real rush? It’s beating the competition and outperforming the guy sitting in the other garage, especially when the entire team is basically banking everything on him.

I mean, at the end of the day, I think we can all pretty much get on the same page here, regardless of whose side you're pulling for.

Joshua Newman2 said:I’ve been sitting here chewing on something that might be super obvious, but I haven't really looked at it as a real possibility until now. There are basically two big headaches for anyone chasing the driver's title right now:

- Fernando is out there pushing an engine that’s looking pretty questionable—this is gonna be his fifth race on this same unit, right?—so it wouldn't be a shock if it just gives up the ghost. If that happens, Red Bull basically wins by default because they'll have fate on their side.

- On the flip side, you've got this whole internal civil war brewing over at Red Bull. Even though everyone swears they're playing nice, honestly, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if we see some "Turkey-style" chaos on track. In that scenario, Fernando is the king because he can just cruise and drive smooth without sweating whether his engine is gonna blow.

But man, what if both things happen at once? Then Lewis Hamilton could actually snatch the championship, and I mean that literally, not just on paper.

Man, those idiots at Red Bull remind me of when Fernando and Lewis were getting absolutely wrecked by Kimi Räikkönen a few years back....

So, unfortunately, Fernando is still my top pick for the title....🙄

These guys won't even start doing the math until there are like 10 laps left in the season. 🙄

Jason Campbell70 said:Lately, it feels like we've got two drivers constantly whining about not getting fair treatment and claiming the team isn't backing them up.

That would be:
-Fernando Alonso - back in 2007, and especially 2006 since he was leading the charge and eventually snatched the championship
-Mark Webber, who hasn't missed a single chance this year to point out how the crew isn't pulling for him.

Now, you can't really compare him to Fernando when it comes to being a total crybaby, but even he’s turned into quite the whiner himself.

I mean, even this gentleman hasn't complained nearly as much.

But that guy? He actually knows how to really let it out.

You're not being realistic, man. It's not being a crybaby to say the team isn't behind you...
And honestly, screw Alonso. Everywhere he goes, he finishes first—he's basically the top driver anywhere that isn't Mercedes.

But with Mark Webber, it's true, nobody is standing behind him, and they've shown that more than just once...

I guess we just have different definitions of what a crybaby is.

Look, cosmicridge5, I respect you coming at me like a freight train on a highway, really I do...

But comparing that ice-cold Australian to some little wimp? That’s like saying the forum screen is yellow... it just doesn't make sense...

I still can't get over that time when someone was talking about Mark Webber and acting like he's crazy just because he didn't move out of the way 🙄

Look, let's be clear: if anyone here is being objective, it's me, because I don't root for either of them...

But hey, I gotta pick a side sometimes, though I'm definitely not rooting against Fernando Alonso 🤷

Plus, I was thinking about sending my resume over to Red Bull, you know, just so there's at least one person on the team who’s actually on Mark Webber's side 🤷

But sure, let's pretend the cool-headed Aussie is the weak one, while Sebastian Vettel—who’s constantly grinding through stuff—is totally fine 😁

cosmicridge5, you seriously cracked me up 🙏

Listen, cosmicridge5, a guy like him simply cannot be called a wimp. He could be a kamikaze pilot, an assassin, whatever—you could say anything else, but calling him a wimp or some soft little thing? No way.

What's your deal? Mark Webber's still got at least six seasons left in him. He’s finally actually matured into a real driver now... 🙏

We're looking at the start of a massive era here. 🙏

Red Bull is realizing right now that they can't realistically run two drivers of that caliber on the exact same team...
They've basically pivoted to being Sebastian Vettel's personal hype man...
And if you look closely, every single top-tier team seems to have their own "golden boy" they cater to...

Just to give you an example, every powerhouse has that one driver they prioritize...

Like, Red Bull has Sebastian Vettel, McLaren has Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari has that guy Fernando Alonso, and Williams has Barrichello. Now everyone is just waiting to see which other Red Bull seat Mark Webber moves into, but they're scrambling to find another star driver so they can actually have a competitive lineup ready for next season. 🙏

So, have we all started pulling for Mark Webber in this last race yet, or are we just holding our breath until he finally grabs that championship title? 🤷

Man, yesterday was killer. 15 points. 🙏

slydrifter39 said:Neither way is a crime. It’s just a different philosophy. Some teams don't bother having a clear number one driver, while others go all in. That's their call. But honestly, sticking to a single lead driver usually pays off better. Just look at Prost versus Nelson Piquet and Nigel Mansell back in '86, Michael Schumacher against Mika Häkkinen and David Coulthard in '00, or Kimi Räikkönen against Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton in '07. Same story every time.

I mean, if they're just going to spend the whole season cannibalizing each other's points, what's the point of putting two top-tier drivers in the same garage anyway?🤷

And then you hear them talking about how every team should have three cars... man, imagine the chaos if that actually happened.🙄
GP Germany - 07/25/2010 in Formula 1 ·
slydrifter39 said:Facts. He's not championship material. If he were, he'd be leading the standings.

Then again, Mark Webber isn't championship material either since he only has one good race out of every three. Being consistent is what matters, and this season we've only seen that from Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. If Hamilton—who’s pretty wild and prone to errors—is leading because of consistency, it just shows how damn good he is.

Look, you’ve got some points there, but let’s be real... we aren't seeing any of that happening on track.

I was literally just telling my buddy, if all this stuff is staged for the cameras and the sponsors, who knows what kind of favoritism they're pulling behind the scenes where we can't see it...

Because seriously, man, look at Felipe Massa. For the last two seasons, he was a killer driver. Love him or hate him, he was consistently racking up wins regardless of how the season went, and now suddenly he’s nowhere to be found and everyone is talking about some random guy like Kubica...

What the hell is the point of having a second driver like him? He would've been out there consistently overtaking Fernando Alonso on the outside...

In my book, he probably would've been the most nightmare-inducing second driver out of anyone on this list. 🙏
GP Germany - 07/25/2010 in Formula 1 ·
slydrifter39 said:Look, realistically—what difference does it make if they cut past the pits or do some "dramatic" move on the track when we all know it was pre-arranged anyway? Look at Brazil back in '07, Kimi cut past Massa through the pits to take the title. If he hadn't, what then? He would've just stayed behind him and lost the championship just to be "fair" to the fans and sponsors?

I don't see anything immoral here. Like "Baby" said, this is a team sport. Otherwise, just give every driver their own car and let them go at it.

The saddest part is that nobody actually remembers these tactical handovers...😉

Man, I remember it vividly. That 2007 Brazil race, Massa was leading like a beast at the halfway point, then suddenly someone goes diving in to close the gap... I think it was near the first left-hand turn...🙄

That kind of attitude is the only way to go if you want people to actually respect you...

I'm rooting for Felipe Massa, but honestly, there's no point in just whining about it.....

I mean, look at Webber—he showed up in a few races and basically told that little punk to sit down and shut up... that's about as much as he could do....

Vettel is getting all the favoritism again, but even then, they have respect for Webber because they know better than to mess with him....

But Button and Massa? They didn't set that up themselves, so they've got nobody to blame but their own selves....

Like, personally, I kind of wish Massa had just blocked Fernando Alonso that one time when they both pulled into the pits at once and acted like complete idiots...

Things would've gotten heated, sure, but then the guy—and the whole team—would've known right away that you can't just push him around....😉

slydrifter39 said:I don't get why everyone is losing their minds. It’s common sense: if Alonso is the only guy at Ferrari actually in the hunt for the title, you prioritize him. Team orders are really only off-limits because of that mess back in 😁 in Austria back in 2002 when the fans felt ripped off—and even then, the points gap wasn't nearly this huge. What was the move here? Let Massa just cruise to a win? Or should they have just crashed into each other? And for whoever was whining about what McLaren did... so what? It doesn't change anything. I still expect Hamilton to take the championship, but all this outrage is just ridiculous.

P.S. Vettel showed exactly how shaky he is right at the start with that stupid shove. That’s not how you win races, and the footage proves it.

Not to be blunt, but Vettel just isn't cut out to be a champion yet....
I know the locals here are gonna come for me, but man to man, what has he actually done smart this season?...

They've got a car that could make you fall on your backside, yet he ends up slamming into Mark Webber entirely because of his own fault. Back in Australia, I recall he had a similar mess with Kubica....

He’s still miles away from being a champ, just totally immature....

Sure, he's fast, but he constantly falls apart when things get critical....
