You can actually check all of that right here on this website... if you want to be sure.
It looks like we might actually get some beautiful weather after all. 👍
is forecasting some bad weather, but the irony is it’s still going to be sweltering. 30 degrees Celsius plus rain equals 👎

I’m actually really curious about the set times. I just hope the three bands I’m dying to see on the first day don't clash—Pendulum, Morcheeba, and LCD Soundsystem... what a nightmare if they do, especially since they're all on different stages. 🙂

The second day should be pretty fun, though—hopefully they schedule things like New Young Pony Club and Caribou earlier so we can dance while the sun is still out.
The lineup isn't weak—it’s just a bit more underground, which doesn't mean it's bad. Honestly, this whole thing is clearly curated for the indie crowd. You've got Broken Social Scene, Flaming Lips, LCD Soundsystem, Caribou... it's definitely a specific vibe, but I'm perfectly happy with it.

Looking at this lineup all together in one spot... man, it's honestly incredible.

I'm with you on that.👍
When you take everything into account, the lineup looks pretty solid so far—and we have to remember they still have another 25 to 30 acts left to announce. It won't all be huge international headliners, but you can always have a great time catching a local indie band like somewhere out of Austin or maybe some gritty garage rock from Seattle... Not everyone lives in the city, so having a chance to see these local gems twice a year is actually a nice perk.😉Though, I'm worried the lesser-known acts will just end up filling the gaps in the schedule, which might make me hesitate between seeing an international act or sticking with the locals... The only thing missing so far is a decent hip-hop presence.. 🤷
Maybe there's finally some hope now. 🙂

Give this track a listen from start to finish... then come back and tell me again that you can't find a rhythm to move to 🙂...

This one is especially good, especially the live version.

You missed the point.

I'm just saying that if I were organizing this, I'd try to pull in fans from neighboring countries by booking a band that's already touring through Europe—and the US is definitely on their radar. Forgive me, but looking at the lineup, there really isn't anyone bigger than Massive Attack—and even they haven't quite hit that "legendary status" peak yet...

Look, you can't please everyone. Personally, I think Billy Idol is pretty mediocre, though I've seen people on other forums acting like he's the greatest thing ever—which I just don't get. But hey, it is what it is. Everything will work out fine, anyway... and trying to compare an English crowd to an American one is a losing battle. People just have completely different mindsets.
Chris Chase5 said:I’m actually pretty proud to join the rest of the US crowd heading out to see Placebo. It’s honestly kind of pathetic they couldn't—or wouldn't—book Placebo while they were touring the States, especially being right in our neighborhood.
No shade to the artists themselves, but this lineup is just... underwhelming. Compared to the big festivals around here, this is JADNOOO

Look, you can say whatever you want, but I wouldn't trade InMusic for Coachella or Lollapalooza... those huge festivals just cram in 900 bands or DJs just to fill up the schedule, which ends up being a lot of filler. Here, there’s actually something for everyone—I’ve definitely found my niche, and I know the upcoming announcements won't disappoint, especially if the rumors about Air are true... Personally, I don't really listen to Rise Against, but I guess it fits the punk vibe, and I missed Massive Attack—just like I see a lot of people did—so we'll get our turn eventually, and Pendulum is going to absolutely crush it without a doubt... I'm dying to see the Flogging Molly Pendulum Broken social scene because they're great, but LCD Soundsystem sounds interesting too, even if I haven't spun them much... Seriously guys, just broaden your musical horizons, it's not all just rock or electronic music... 🤷

edit: I didn't even include The Flaming Lips above, but it goes without saying... those guys are gods! I can't wait to see Wayne and his giant balloon 🙂
Dana Howard93 said:hmm, Jamiroquai isn't playing anything around then—plus, they're actually in Chicago on the 24th. Maybe we could look into some other options... 😁

👍
Honestly, The Flaming Lips are the reason I finally pulled the trigger on this ticket. I was really on the fence at first—especially after they announced BSS and Massive Attack—but once they added this to the lineup, I was definitely in. 🙏
Anyone else head out there? I'd love to hear some thoughts...
Man, I am honestly so tired of reading these comments along the lines of "bring out Ratt or Muse, otherwise I’m not showing up"... like, do you actually think anyone cares about that? Look, the bands are fine—I don't really listen to them myself—but there are so many much better acts out there that nobody even bothers to complain about. Plus, I don't see why people are even posting this here... was any of those bands actually on the wishlist posted in this group? I highly doubt it... ☕

Look, Placebo is solid, but this new album? It’s a total dud.
Anyway, I'd bet anything that more people will show up for Massive Attack than for them...
Dennis Lee87 said:Man, it was a total mess when they played in Chicago about 4 or 5 months ago—honestly, Lollapalooza was such a disaster👎👎

Sounds like you were the only one having a bad time... ☕
I mean, sure, it’s a bit silly to book bands that have already toured here, but what can you do? At least Massive Attack is worth seeing five times over...
Dana Howard93 said:Honestly, I’d still be rooting for RATM—it’s actually pretty reasonable to expect them to show up here since there isn't much else going on during that window...

A snippet from another forum...

Aside from the big festivals in Europe this summer (like Lollapalooza or Aftershock), we might get a chance to see them in a city like Chicago instead. A local agency handles their bookings, but they're avoiding bringing them to the major US hubs due to certain logistics...

That would be an absolute dream...

Not quite a dream, but definitely one of the better lineups out there 👍
