Why would someone from the West Coast travel all the way 373 miles to Novi Sad, when they could see them in Austria or Italy for about a third of the mileage?
So that whole "exclusivity" angle doesn't really work... it kind of misses the mark.
Actually, it has no effect on the rest of the US at all.
Just to be clear, I'm not exactly a huge AF fan—I'd much rather see In Flames—but generally speaking, you guys don't have a clue how these negotiations and details actually work.
I don't want to get bogged down in deep debates about concert bookings in this thread—I'm no industry expert—but even someone who isn't paying attention can see something obvious here. As for AF, I couldn't care less about them, but I'm talking about what happened last year.
Just one more thing to add here, and we can always take this to PMa if you want... When a festival books a massive headliner, they aren't going to book them if our neighbors to the east have them 249 miles from Chicago and if our northern neighbors have them just as close 249 miles to Chicago! That’s why I mentioned FLipse and likely higher prices for playing just this part of the US; there were probably folks from nearby states, maybe some Canadians or even people from further out. 👍
On topic: I'm also curious about what's going on with those tickets. 🤷
