Besides, credit card transactions work differently; things don't just move that fast.
It all depends on when his billing cycle hits. For instance, I get my bill on the 15th for the period running from the 13th of last month to the 13th of this month. So, theoretically, if I buy something on the 12th, it'll be processed and sitting right there on my bill in just two days.☕
mellowtiger83 said:So I swung by Best Buy just like I mentioned yesterday to ask about your situation. They’re going to approve a full refund for those two graphics cards. Since you used the installment plan, the money will go right back to whatever card you used. If it's an American Express, expect to wait about 10 days; if it's Diners Club, it should show up in 2-3 days.
It’s not an issue. Obviously, besides the refund, you can pick out a replacement for anything else.
Honestly, they handled it fairly. No complaints there!
Why the wait for the refund? Because that's just how it works with American Express. Even when Best Buy processes a payment via American Express, they have to wait about 10 days to get the cash, so you're stuck waiting too. It's like trying to turn a massive cargo ship—it's slow. Diners and Master are way faster at moving the money.
Well, props to you for putting in the work! 👍

Dammit, I messed up because I order from them online all the time, but then I just swing by their local branch to pick it up... and every single time they tell me I've got an 8-day window to return stuff if I'm unhappy, as long as I don't wreck the packaging.🤷
https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer-service/display.html ...just scroll down to the section titled "Returns Policy - Product Value Reduction"
What else is in this build? For an "average" PC, a decent 450-500W power supply from somewhere like Corsair or EVGA is more than enough...
Nobody actually claimed they were "made" for gaming, but for the kind of play he mentioned, you could scrape by on an RX 480 or a GTX 1060 at 4K—depending on the game—on low or medium settings. Maybe for another year or two before it hits a wall... downscaling is its own headache, and honestly, he needs to know why he’s buying a 4K monitor in the first place, whether it's for work or just messing around.
It’s not like picking up a GPU that runs everything on medium/high right out of the box, giving you maybe 3 or 4 years to slowly dial it down to low. I highly doubt he plans on swapping his card again anytime soon. He’d be better off grabbing a Fury, which you can find for under $1.00 these days; it'll give him some actual peace of mind for longer.
I definitely agree with Robert Rodriguez2 that it's smarter to hold off on any advice or final decisions until the moment he's actually ready to buy, especially since prices are finally settling down... assuming the dollar doesn't suddenly spike like the analysts are predicting 😬

I'd rather pay $5.75 more for a SanDisk Z400 256GB (with that 5-year warranty) instead of the Spark... also, I don't see a case listed. Did you forget to paste it or just totally blank on it? 😬 Everything else looks good.👍

question ...
will an rx 460 / 470 run bf 1 or bf4? (paired with 8gb RAM and an i5) for example http://www.bestbuy.com/site/graphics-card/
http://www.gamersnexus.net/game-benc...k-dx11-vs-dx12 according to this, you can hit ultra settings at 1080p even with an rx460 (43fps) 😬
Robert Rodriguez2 said:RX 480 or GTX 1060... I'd swap the PSU too, otherwise everything else is fine.
So come by a day before you buy. This makes no sense; prices and stock change literally every single day. "In a few months" and new GPUs and CPUs will already be out and stuff will be gone...
If he’s claiming he wants a 4K monitor "sometime soon," then honestly, going anything lower than a GTX 1070 is a waste of money—regardless of him saying he isn't some hardcore gamer.
Prices are finally starting to level out...
Timothy Kim60 said:Amazon has it slightly cheaper ($352)
Well, damn. When I searched for "RX 460 Windforce OC" on Google Shopping, those cheap links popped up first... if I had just typed "RX 460 WF OC," I would've seen the stuff on google.com 😵
wiredotter14 said:Can someone recommend an RX460 that doesn't need a power connector? Even a 2GB version is fine, as long as I can find it at a US retailer like Best Buy or Amazon.
thanks!
This one shouldn't need a power connector at all...$367
Review
And this one should run just off the PCI-e slot too for slightly less $317 (cash).
As for performance differences, who knows, but I dig the dual fans on the first one more (probably runs cooler and quieter). 😬
Steven Stewart3 said:So, I'm thinking about just tearing up this contract because what I actually got for my money isn't what was promised. It's like buying a Mustang and showing up to find a beat-up sedan. If that were actually true, I’d pull the trigger and upgrade right this second, but I just don't buy it.
Just give it a shot, for crying out loud... what do you actually have to lose?☕
swiftridge29 said:Thanks for the deep dive on the GPU! As for the RAM, I downloaded the software and slots 3 and 4 are filled up.
That’s why you're stuck in single-channel. You probably need them paired up in 1+3 or 2+4. Most motherboards color-code the slots—like one pair is yellow and the other is red—just so you don't have to guess which ones to use for dual-channel mode.
NVIDIA GTX 1080, 4GB HBM $941
Honestly, I'd take a 250GB SSD paired with an RX 480 4GB over just a lone RX 480 8GB any day of the week...☕
Depends on what you do for a living...
Grab this monitor instead (22" and about 7.5 lbs), then just use whatever cash is left over for some headphones...😬
