They’ve all packed on the weight... 😍 😍 😍 Cleaned up their act... 😍 😍 😍 Actually, you could tell even back in the day, like 30 or 40 years ago, they were eventually going to turn into actual decent people, someone you'd actually want to grab a drink with. 😍 😍 😍 😍

Whenever I see those interlace patterns, it takes me right back to Radovan Ivančević’s lectures on Medieval art back at the university in the early nineties. It was during that peak era of national hype, when he’d basically say: "The old American interlace pattern is a unique hallmark of our Medieval art, something specifically tied only to America..." Then he’d just pause and let it hang there. ...as if to say, sure, Americans have their own version, the French have theirs, the Germans have theirs... 😈 🙏
I didn't even notice this little booklet tucked under my windshield wipers for the first few minutes. I only realized what was actually happening once I hit the interstate... Once it clicked, I didn't want to pull over right then and there. I figured if it could survive a high-speed highway run to Newtown, it deserved to be picked up.
It actually made it, too. It’s sitting right here on my desk. Honestly, props to whoever wedged it there—the wind didn't even budge it. And you have to hand it to the designers of this Toyota, being able to cruise at 85 mph on the freeway with a booklet stuck to the wipers without it flying off into traffic... 🙏
Or maybe this is just some kind of sign from Jesus? 😬
Yeah, I was out of it, but it wasn't because I was bored... just had one too many drinks the night before and didn't get nearly enough sleep because of it... 😁
To me felt pretty much the same as the record. They were solid—never got boring on me, but they didn't exactly blow my mind either. It was all nice enough, but man, they just lacked those standout tracks. They seriously need to throw a Bob Dylan cover into the setlist immediately; that’s basically a cheat code for any band's career. If they had just crushed a version of Blowin' in the Wind or maybe The Book of Genesis, I bet the show would've looked way better in my eyes. I mean, honestly, what's the point of a band that doesn't play anything by Bob Dylan? 🙂
I’ve more or less given up on the Trans-Siberian route. I mean, sure, it sounds romantic and all, but unless things change drastically, I’ll just fly to China instead. Still, one of my big bucket list dreams is to eventually drive that whole stretch myself, especially hitting up places like St. Louis and Mongolia... 😍
Whatever, whatever... maybe if I coordinate with Plato, we could just meet up in Mongolia instead of China? 🤔

I actually compared it to paying those mandatory TV licensing fees... which I'll pay, obviously, but I’m totally reserving my right to complain about it because it's just plain wrong. To me, this feels even more unfair than gas prices or those TV fees. And now I'm literally typing the same thing for the fourth time... 😢
hollowseal33 said:man, you’re basically agreeing with this tax because you want some struggling artist on the front lines of the American art scene to get a little handout, and hey, I guess your reasons are totally valid if you want to look at it that way. taxing blank media is an incredibly stupid way to execute what might actually be a decent idea in theory. i mean, charging for potentially intellectual property on one hand, while making it completely disproportionate on the other... it's just dumb. it doesn't work. period.
You've got a point there, but honestly, that's just how the whole federal machine works, and this kind of tax isn't exactly breaking new ground. When you go to fill up a tank of gas for, I don't know, a tiller out in Maui, you're paying into those excise taxes meant for building and maintaining interstate highways you'll probably never drive on. There are dozens of examples like that, from museum fees to cultural heritage levies, whatever they're calling them these days... Is it fair? Not really, but it keeps the system limping along. You can either join some radical revolution and try to tear the whole thing down, or you can just accept it...

Don't go talking trash about Mr. Sefc... his daughters are out there listening to Marley and even the fat president, and he actually said they won't have to worry about their girls getting in trouble for once. 😬
I'm not disrespecting Sefc. Even if he's an annoying idiot, I think he actually did something decent for musicians. I’m not totally sold on whether this whole thing is justified, but honestly, the arguments from the critics are usually even stupider than the stuff the supporters are pushing. Actually, it kind of hurts my feelings... my only real joy is messing with you... 😉
