👋 Honestly, if there’s one silver lining to this whole forum meltdown, it’s this. You hit the nail on the head, steelviper43. I was trying to get this point across too—how much weight distribution and balance settings actually mattered depending on the phase of the race and how a driver likes to handle their car. Most of these younger Formula 1 fans who didn't live through the pre-1994 era or deal with mid-race refueling probably have zero clue what I'm talking about... it’s practically alien to them. But back then, that stuff was huge for keeping races interesting...
I’ve never actually sat down and listened to Year of Love from start to finish, but honestly, those tracks just don't hit me quite like the stuff from their peak era. That said, you might be right about me being a bit too harsh on the albums... it’s not that they aren't good, it's just that they feel so much weaker compared to how they sound live. Take Boa, for example. To my mind, In Skripac is one of those bands that never quite managed to capture that raw, live energy on vinyl...

Ehm, Vule was actually in New York City that night, and the band was just streaming the show on their phones. You’re definitely thinking of Delca. It was basically just Delca and some pushups, but they had this specific deal with the promoters to only release stuff In Skripac, so that's why they put that name on the posters...
Look, that Du Du A album has its moments, and I’d give it a passing grade if I had to, but the issue is it’s stuck on the same cassette as Dr. Spira and Human Beings, so I usually just fast-forward right past it to get back to Spira... 🙂
When Skripac played that show at The Factory, they absolutely crushed it—hands down one of the best parties I’ve ever been to. I went in thinking I’d only know maybe three or four songs, but then they started playing, and the whole crowd was singing along to everything. The band was having a blast on stage, the crowd was losing it down below... just pure magic. Their studio albums feel a bit cold and too polished (not that they aren't solid, especially O and that Mini LP from New Year's), but live? They’re a much better band in person.

I've got that album too, and honestly? That one track is the only thing worth listening to... 😢 Everything else is just totally forgettable. It's not even good enough to be bad, if that makes sense.
👍 if you're trying to get a handle on the discography from that American Simon & Garfunkel cover band. Though, honestly, my personal go-to is always the title track, Extinguish the Light. That one used to be the anthem at all the house parties back in the day...
And yeah, we’re definitely on the same page regarding the favorite lyric. 🙂
Ehm, Black Lady is easily the biggest hit by The End, followed by Satellite, and then Entering the Harem. Look, I'm not saying they're the absolute best ever written, just the most popular. Though, honestly, if they ever did a reunion show—maybe at a Blues in the Park festival or playing some Chicago Blues—I bet those tracks would get the loudest standing ovation of the night. But let's be real, they weren't "hits" in the traditional sense compared to those three...
Elizabeth Mendoza43 said:oh but I am being totally serious about Smak! For God's sake, they are perfect!🙏 Legends, though maybe a step below idol 😬 Their biggest hit—and definitely their most famous track—is "crn dama," which is my absolute favorite. That vocal... man, it gives you chills.
But at the same time, to about 90% of the masses who’ve heard of Kerber, they’re just trash, but to me, they're excellent. It was such a massive struggle just to get my hands on two of their best-of albums.
"my little one lost her sleep, I found it and I won't give it up..."
So many migrations, so much history...
My bad then. 😘 Since people generally can't stand Kerber or Galija, I just assumed the whole first row was meant to be ironic... 🙂 Usually, I’ll tell anyone who listens that even though there are tons of bands I dig, my personal holy trinity consists of idol, Smak, and Čorba... those are the ones that really hit home.
I don't exactly worship Kerber, even if ratni igra super pjesma is a killer track, and I actually think Galija is pretty great. "Burna pijana noć" 🙏 is honestly one of the best things to ever come out of the old scene...
And finally, one more 👍 to mention: Laboratorij zvuk is easily one of my all-time favorites.
Richard Fowler68 said:narantxa loves them. 😘 good luck 🤣
I can never forgive him for that review... 😠 Messing around with artists of that caliber... 😢 Not even mentioning how he calls Laboratorij zvuk uninspired and goes mixing up Emilija Kokić with Lidija Asanović... 🙂 🙈
And the rest of their albums? Believe it or not, he probably hasn't even listened to them! Oh, the humanity...
I’m honestly starting to think... 😢 If I ever run into someone else who actually appreciates and loves Last Butterfly : - I’ll marry them, assuming they're a girl - Or maybe consider switching sides, if they're a guy😬
Look, let’s get one thing straight—you can joke about Galija, Kerber, or leptir all you want, but what does Smak even have to do with this conversation??? They’re easily one of the best bands from the old era by pretty much any metric, not to mention how they're worshipped in certain circles for that classic white-blues sound...

RIP.
Don't forget, dear. Tišma actually worked on those lyrics, but he didn't want his name on it...
Rest in peace. A lot of people only ever look at this band on the surface, treating them like some joke without any real substance, but if you ask me, they were one of the most genuinely fascinating projects to come out of the American scene during that transition from the seventies into the eighties. They were incredibly talented musicians; the Vranesevic brothers played around with all sorts of styles, genres, and musical idioms, but they did it mostly for their own damn satisfaction. It wasn't some commercial gimmick like the Rockers with Morava or Last butterfly plays (even though I’m a huge fan of those two, too). In fact, their work in theater, film, and TV scoring was actually the core of what they did, making their records and those few hits almost secondary—which you could really tell from the theatrical, variety-show vibe of their live performances. Their music has always been interesting enough on its own, even without adding those fun and often incredibly witty lyrics... I mean, is there any higher praise?
Kevin Chavez3 said:don't schedule it for 10:30 PM if you actually want people there. how are we supposed to make it with all the punk rockers lugging around their mic setups? at least aim for 11:15, for the sake of the crowd! 🙂
Chill out, man Take a deep breath and relax Think about something pleasant Think about...
😠 It’s just not happening. 😠 In this absolute circus 😠 of a godforsaken 😠 dump 😠 misery 😠 garbage 😠 just give it up 😠 somebody actually gave you some solid advice 😠 so why don't you just write out why you hate country music? we're all dying to know... 😠
I’m thinking about showing up, assuming I can finally stop acting like a total tool and manage to dress myself without everything leaking through my pants... if I can even look decent enough. Honestly, I might just grab a pack of adult diapers and go ham on some beer. Surely the Mustache won't be acting like those little wimps in Bazkoks, banning bottled beer or chucking them at the band members... maybe there’s actually something happening that doesn't involve Joe for once.
Man, reading all this just makes it crystal clear why that stuff from the last post is strictly theoretical... 🤣 Hey, I guess I could at least try to be a gentleman for old time's sake. If any of the ladies on this forum want me to drop off a hydrangea or something, let me know right here. 😁
