Alright, here’s a list where that takes the top spot:
Alright, let's settle this once and for all. I'm putting my neck on the line here: what are the absolute best stories involving Dire Straits? Give me your best stuff...
So, I’m standing there at the Greyhound station, maybe five or six years back, just grabbing my phone to call this lawyer we were using to sort out some paperwork for our company registration. His name was Elvis Presley. I’m walking along, mid-conversation, when I pass right by this bar where they’ve got music blasting out of the doors, and wouldn't you know it... it's "Calling Elvis"... 😂 🤣
1. Telegraph Road 2. Private Investigations 3. Ride Across The River 4. What's The Matter With You Baby 5. Romeo And Juliet 6. The Man's Too Strong 7. Six Blade Knife 8. Single-Handed Sailor 9. In The Gallery 10. Where Do You Think You're Going?
I left out Going Home because even though it was released under the band's name on Alchemy, I honestly see it more as a Mark Knopfler solo effort... Now, obviously, Sultans of Swing and Brothers in Arms are absolute heavy hitters at the top of any list, but they've been played to death on the radio and everywhere else, so I just don't vibe with them quite as much as the ones I listed above... or maybe some others that just didn't make the cut.

Look, if it isn't rock and there aren't any catchy choruses, I might actually be interested... ☕
In theory, I’m totally hating on this whole string of jokes, but you gotta give credit where it's due... there's something to be said for something that manages to be so twisted on so many different levels at once... 🙏
I'm not a geek, so I don't find this stuff funny. But today, for the first time ever, one of those jokes about Zak actually cracked me up (it's not usually my thing since we're basically the same weight, so his stuff doesn't normally hit): Why does Zak sing so beautifully? Because he swallowed Ivanka Boljkovac. 🤣
The best Asterix story ever is Asterix Legionnaire. Honestly, the only other time I’ve seen that level of pure comedic genius was in Alan Ford, specifically during the Die Rich Uncle episode.
Here are my top five all-time favorite comic moments—the ones where I wasn't just laughing, but actually crying for ten minutes straight because they were so ridiculous:
1. Gaston, when he's tearing the entire office apart looking for some duct tape, not realizing it's stuck right to his own leg. I actually forgot about this one for years, then stumbled upon it again and ended up sobbing with laughter, pounding my fist against the mattress at Hide-and-Seeker's face in that final panel.
2. Alan Ford, that opening scene in the Golf episode with the knife sharpener and the butcher.
3. Gaston, pulling up under a scaffold in his car. "Sorry I scuffed your ride a little. Name's Gaston..."
4. Hogar, when a knight in full armor gets blasted by a ram mid-field and calmly mentions he’s going to have to replace his entire rear axle.
5. Garfield, there's this one gag with three flower pots on a windowsill, but man, I can't track down which issue it was in anymore...
Bonus: Alan Ford, Die Rich Uncle, specifically the part where the lawyer is in court dealing with Bob Rock. And honestly, that bit about the ugly women at the party in that same issue is pretty close to the top too.
Back in 2000—or maybe 2001? 🤔 up on Maui, some guy cornered me and unknown to force-feed us two Weezer albums that were just straight-up garbage. I haven't been able to stand them since... totally ruined those bands for me for life. Can't even remember the titles...
Today's list of absolute disasters: 1. The USA-Brazil match is happening at the exact same time as the Annecy Festival. Honestly, people need to get their priorities straight. I'm skipping the game. 2. After I go way too hard drinking in Des Moines tomorrow, I won't have a place to crash... so I'll just be out there looking like a mess until my 7:30 AM train. Could be a rough one. 3. Sandra Chase16 is into Weezer. And she's tried acting like the perfect woman a few times here and there... 😢 4. They're letting little kids handle unknown stuff. 😲 5. No offense, but they totally ripped off my blog idea. 😢 😢

😱 Trying to wrap my head around a sober Arsen Dedić... Does that even exist in this universe? 🤔
Nicholas Perez33 said:Man, they're absolute garbage. I didn't even bother making a backup of their stuff. Why am I the only one who actually likes Lucky Strike?😁
Because every terrible band manages to find exactly one fan, and apparently, the universe had to make sure that rule applied here too.☕ 😬 Two fans would actually be giving them way too much credit, especially since they still sound just as bad as they did when I had the misfortune of seeing them play at a dive bar in Philly years ago...
He definitely saw a bird or something. Cats just lose their minds sometimes; instinct takes over and they stop thinking straight... Same thing happened to a buddy's cat...
They’re pretty tedious in large doses, though I'll admit there were some decent tracks sprinkled in there. Honestly, though, I really only care when Chris takes the mic... the ones where Carl is on vocals mostly just bore me.
Johnny Servoz-Gavin is gone. Honestly, he was one of those Formula 1 drivers who left a way smaller footprint than his talent actually deserved... Johnny walked away from racing way too early because he was convinced—though most people think he was totally wrong about this—that his vision had gone and he just couldn't cut it anymore. He spent most of his life living a bit of a nomadic, wandering existence, basically drifting around the Mediterranean in horse-drawn wagons or something along those lines. It’s a hell of a lifestyle, I guess. He only really started popping up at vintage racing events in the last few years to break out of that isolation, but unfortunately, his health caught up with him before he could do much more. R. I. P....
