Is the forum being intentionally throttled for certain users?

I honestly can't think of any other explanation 🤔

It’s such a strange thing, but when I'm browsing without being logged in, the site feels incredibly snappy, yet the second I sign in using my Kenneth Cruz67 account, everything just crawls along like it's stuck in thick mud, sometimes taking ten whole minutes just to load a single page.

Seriously, what is going on?

I've tried clearing all my cookies, and I even tested it in private windows on both Chrome and Firefox, and even on my phone, everything works perfectly fine until I actually log in with the Kenneth Cruz67 handle. As soon as I'm signed in—bam—the forum slows to a crawl, pages take forever to show up, and I keep getting hit with those "The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later" error messages.

I honestly thought you were just messing with me ☕

I went ahead and updated the password. Just let me know if that doesn't work for you.

I honestly can't tell if I'm just being a difficult user on Reddit, or if Smith is somehow out to get me, because it feels like there's really no middle ground here.

And please, I'd really appreciate it if you didn't spam my thread.

I would like to request a permanent ban, please.

I am really hoping my request can be honored this time, rather than just being deleted like what happened previously. I truly hope you might take me seriously here, because I honestly don't see any reason to act out or be difficult just to force a permanent ban.

What Smith is doing is quite frankly a complete joke in every sense of the word.

I simply have no desire to remain part of a community where people like him are given the authority to moderate.

Thank you.

Dear John Doe,

You have received an infraction on Reddit.

Reason: Violation of General Forum Rules
-------
You are jumping into a discussion that doesn't concern you, much like a skydiver landing in the wrong field. You aren't familiar with the subject matter, you clearly haven't read the previous posts, and you're asking "insightful" questions that are actually quite foolish—especially since you're questioning basic fundamentals that everyone else has been discussing since the 19th century. Jovan Cvijić was a geographer who focused primarily on the very factors you're bringing up, specifically nature rather than humanity, which explains his entire first volume regarding the North American Peninsula. Other authors define geographical boundaries somewhat differently, particularly concerning the inclusion of certain border regions.

Furthermore, Cvijić distinguishes between four different "types of people," with numerous sub-varieties within them, not just two. Most other authors usually mention at least three.

Both Cvijić and many others examine the way certain mental patterns (mentalities) developed in one environment and were then transplanted to a new area with different geographical characteristics. Cvijić makes specific mention of Šumadija, which, after being sparsely populated for centuries, saw an influx of Dinaric settlers during the 18th and 19th centuries.

In fact, this whole question of how mentalities are "transplanted" remains a very relevant topic for us even today.

By interjecting like this, you are violating the general forum rules regarding entering discussions.

I’ve been hit with a warning just because I’m participating in a thread I haven't contributed to before, even though I’ve already racked up three warnings on this exact same topic! It feels like I get a strike for every single post I make in the history section, no matter how well-intentioned I try to be.

I’m honestly not quite sure if he really needed to give up that position. I mean, sure, he did pull off, but he was already ahead and it felt like they just didn't leave him any room to maneuver.
Max was looking pretty quick, though I suppose the tire delta wasn't quite enough. If he'd managed to hang on for just one more lap, maybe he could have jumped onto those softs...

You might want to pick a side there—either he was leading, or he wasn't given the space to stay ahead, because I don't think you can really have it both ways!

I mean, if anyone were placed in that car, they'd probably find a way to win, right? At least I feel like Russell has somewhat proven that to you,

Honestly, all Russell showed was that he could manage to pull in a ninth-place finish with that machine. Even Bottas managed to grab eighth, which, if we're being real, is arguably the worst result Mercedes has ever seen. It seems like as soon as Hamilton isn't there to steady the ship, everything just turns into total chaos, complete instability, and pure confusion.

It honestly feels like Max was left in the dust after just twenty laps, even though he was driving a significantly faster car than everyone else else.🤣

Well, it certainly didn't take us very long to see that happen, did it?

Oh, quite a few, I suspect! If we consider how things go with Nikita Mazepin, I’d say we can almost certainly expect at least one SC during the race.

Sebastian Vettel just got slapped with a five-place grid penalty along with three penalty points because he apparently decided to ignore those yellow flags during Q1.

I guess Sebastian Vettel is finally landing right where he belongs—starting at the very back of the grid.

I think we are all on the same page here! Max truly does have a title-contending machine under him now. I guess if that championship slips through his fingers—if someone else takes it, especially if it ends up being Lewis Hamilton—then maybe we might all finally agree that Max isn't quite the elite driver everyone claims he is.😁

I have a feeling that Lewis Hamilton might just take the win tomorrow. 👍
I suppose I have to wonder, what exactly makes video games so incredibly special that people feel the need to categorize them as this entirely separate phenomenon? At the end of the day, a video game is still just a game, and I really think that, fundamentally speaking, there isn't much that sets it apart from a classic board game, a game of baseball, or even just something simple like jump rope.

Play actually predates culture itself, because while culture is a bit difficult to define precisely, it always assumes the existence of a human society, and animals certainly didn't need humans to show them how to play.

The drive for playful competition is such a deep-seated social impulse that it’s likely older than civilization, spreading through all aspects of life like a constant, living energy. Rituals emerged from sacred play; poetry was essentially born from play and continued to be fed by it; even music and dance were nothing more than pure play....So, I guess we might have to conclude that in its very first stages, civilization is essentially played. It doesn't just emerge from play... rather, it arises within play and stays connected to it forever.

Well, I suppose one has to wonder, what else is there for a person to do to get a straight answer from anyone besides asking lonetrucker4?
Oštrić - Persecution and Banning in Feedback & Suggestions ·
lonetrucker4, I feel like you've completely hijacked this thread, derailing the whole conversation into a battlefield for arguing with anyone who disagrees with you, even dragging Greta into the mix and whatnot. Despite my requests for someone else to address this grievance besides yourself

I am asking one of the authorities who isn't lonetrucker4

to please step in, because what you're doing just isn't fair or right.

This is an official appeal against the warning card.

Either rescind the warning or just go ahead and permanent-ban me. If I really am the kind of troll you seem to think I am, then I honestly have no business being on this forum. And it works both ways, really; I have zero interest in participating in a community where moderators vent their frustrations and engage in personal vendettas.

It’s really just a matter of principle, and frankly, those massive 50 points you handed out didn't even get me close to a one-day ban.

lonetrucker4 said:That random remark about Owens, Hitler, and Roosevelt doesn't really add anything to the conversation on this topic. It just looks like typical trolling.

Now, lonetrucker4, I suppose trolling would actually be if I were going completely off-topic, or if I were trying to stir up trouble just to make people fight, or if I were intentionally veering the discussion toward some entirely different subject altogether.

I truly believe my post was perfectly benign and wasn't meant to be argumentative, provocative, or anything of that nature whatsoever.

So, I'll say it one more time—either you can take those 50 points away from me, or you might as well just issue a permanent ban on my account.
Oštrić - Persecution and Banning in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I would really like to ask the moderators to either strip away these 50 points, since they honestly feel like such utter nonsense, or just go ahead and permaban me entirely. I mean, this whole situation just doesn't make any sense at all, and I simply can't stand the idea of someone just picking on me for no reason whatsoever.

lonetrucker4 said:Kenneth Cruz67, look, if I actually believed you were a genuine Nazi sympathizer, you’d be looking at a penalty ten times larger than this one.

But I suspect you might just be a rather mundane troll—you know, that typical provocateur who just wants to stir up a fight. So, I'll settle on just 50 points, mostly because you keep doing this despite the previous warnings.

But good grief, who on earth was I even trying to provoke or troll? If we were discussing some contentious topic where I was intentionally trying to needle someone, then sure, I might see your point, but there wasn't any provocation or fighting here, nor did I ever take a side in anything.

I guess I don't quite see what's so provocative about it? It is a notorious fact that Americans in the 40s were racists and practiced segregation. Even within the military during WWII, they had segregated Black and white units. Segregation wasn't even abolished until the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Is stating that somehow provocative? And who could possibly be offended by it? Honestly, it's just a well-known historical fact.

Is Roosevelt a bigger racist than Hitler? Just because Hitler greeted Owens with "Sieg Heil!" while Roosevelt didn't send him a congratulatory telegram?

There really isn't much to debate there.

I never actually said Roosevelt was a bigger racist than Hitler; I wasn't comparing them at all. I was simply being ironic regarding the whole "land of the free and home of the brave" idea. I was merely drawing a comparison between America and Germany.

Besides, I suppose you can't really be more or less of a racist; you either are one or you aren't. 😵

It feels quite terrible to me that I'm losing 50 points over a single historical tidbit just because you're seeing something that isn't even there—all this talk of trolling and provocation.

The thing is, I think you've decided by default that I'm a troll and a provocateur, so now you're searching for and finding evidence to support that in every single post I make, whether it's actually there or not.

So, I would truly like to ask the moderators to please review this penalty.
