It makes zero sense. The Lokos are sitting higher in the standings, yet both sides are still theoretically fighting relegation. That 1.25 figure is just pure nonsense.
The odds are insanely high; it's almost hard not to take a shot. I wouldn't normally touch a bet like this, but I've been following Barcelona lately. They aren't necessarily in a crisis, but in my opinion, they just don't have a prayer of winning the LP right now. Their defense is all over the place—completely disorganized, predictable, and slow. Even though Camp Nou is a massive pitch, that size might actually work against them today. Manchester City has nothing to lose here, and they certainly have the quality. Even with that 0:2 scoreline making Barcelona the heavy favorites to advance, 15 is a number you should at least consider for a small speculative play. I've placed my bet, so let's see what happens. ☕
I might try my luck today with two small odds plays. UEFA Champions League, 8:45 PM
AC Milan vs Atletico Madrid (Under 1.5 goals in 1st half) @ 1.35 I'm expecting a physical match. Atletico Madrid is arguably the better side right now, so I suspect the Milan squad will try to stifle the tempo. I think both sides would likely be content with a draw; I don't see a goal fest here, so this seems like a reasonable bet.
Arsenal FC vs Bayern Munich (Goal in 1st half) YES @ 1.30
On the other hand, I expect attacking football from both teams in this one. Arsenal FC simply isn't a defensive-minded team, and they tend to play an open style, especially at home. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich is powerful enough to dominate on any pitch at the moment. I anticipate more goals in this matchup, but rather than taking over 1.5 goals at 1.15, I’ll opt for a goal in the first half for the better value.
Just a long-term parlay idea based on today's odds in the USA.
Bayer - PSG 1.30 The Germans are a solid side at the top, but the Parisians are just too much to handle. After getting knocked out by FC Barcelona in two tough matches last season, they look ready to move a step or two further this time. They should handle this routinely, maybe even securing it in Leverkusen.
Arsenal FC - Bayern Munich 1.20 Last year, Bayern dismantled them in the first leg, and in the second, they were barely hanging on. Even if Arsenal might be in better form this season (occasionally), they still seem prone to tactical collapses, and what Bayern is capable of was best demonstrated when they tore Manchester City apart right in the middle of Etihad Airways. I expect total control from the Bavarians on the pitch in both legs; their progression shouldn't be in doubt.
AC Milan - Atletico Madrid 1.35 As unpredictable as these matchups can get, AC Milan have been terrible this season, making this a "now or never" moment for Atletico Madrid to make a major leap. Atletico are currently too good to be knocked out over two legs by a mediocre Milan side.
Galatasaray SK - Chelsea FC 1.20 Nothing is going to help an angry Turk crowd. José Mourinho is a specialist in these types of games, and I believe he'll take full spoils right in the middle of the Istanbul madness. There is just too big a gap in class here.
PAOK FC - SL Benfica 1.20 PAOK is a decent team, but SL Benfica has found their rhythm lately, taking over the top of their domestic league, and a steady progression is expected as they aim far into the Europa League.
Cherno - Odessa - Olympique Lyonnais 1.35 Olympique Lyonnais have stabilized, they are playing well, and they are heavy favorites against a mediocre Ukrainian team. It could be tough, but I believe in a routine advancement over the two legs. Following a disastrous start to the season, this means a lot to them.
Seventh place facing the bottom of the table. I’m calling this one not necessarily because the home side is dominant, but because Hearts has managed to scrape together just one single point in their last six matches. On top of that, due to some points being docked—for reasons I can't quite pin down—they've fallen significantly behind, sitting at -2 points. I suppose their ambitions dried up a long time ago, so a draw seems like the only logical outcome given the decent 1.70 odds.
Borussia Dortmund - Hertha BSC /gsp/ Dortmund. DA (1-2(1-2)) SS = 1.70
Borussia has dropped enough points already and is trailing both Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen. I guess they practically have zero margin for error left compared to those two clubs. An offensive approach is expected from the kickoff, and maybe we could see at least one goal for the visitors every 45 minutes.
The best team in the league is returning after a month-long break; meanwhile, they managed to get knocked out of the cup by an eighth-tier side at home. Barnet FC is seriously fighting for promotion and hasn't had a break, so they are in competitive form.
This one looks worth taking. I've been following Hyde for a while; they're a tough, gritty outfit.

FCSB (Steaua) - Astra Giurgiu 1 SS 1.80 (3-1)
Matchday derby: third time Steaua meets the current leaders, Astra Giurgiu. Following a very strong previous season, the visitors have continued their excellent play, currently sitting on a six-game winning streak and holding first place in the table. Steaua is defending their title; a win would put them 3 points ahead with two games in hand. After being eliminated from the Champions League, they can now focus entirely on defending the title. This is an ideal opportunity to prove against a strong opponent that they remain the number one club in the country. Steaua is exceptionally strong at home, boasting a 5-1-0 record with an impressive 18:2 goal difference. Decent odds; maybe worth a try.
Jong Twente - Jong Ajax over 3.5 goals (PSK) 2.25 (0-1)
The league table and recent form don't really matter much to me here. I prefer relying on the long-term statistics I track, which show that matches involving these youth squads tend to produce an extremely high number of goals. Since the 3+ goal option hits almost every single week—usually at odds around 1.40 - 1.50—I guess it makes sense to try the 4+ option offered by PSK. Both teams are sitting near the bottom of the table, they play an open, attacking style, so we could easily see another blowout. In Jong Ajax's last six matches, the both teams to score option hit every time, and in those six games, there was only one instance where at least three goals weren't scored. So, I figured I'd try for a higher odd for a change.
Sunday, 12/15 Serie A 6:30 PM Juventus vs US Sassuolo | Juve DA 1.65 (4-0 (3-0))
Following that disappointing exit from the Champions League, Juventus needs to focus on defending their title. I expect a dominant Juventus performance today, likely securing three points relatively easily. US Sassuolo has found some footing after those early struggles and managed to climb to 16th place, which is decent for them. That said, I anticipate a few goals against the visitors. If Juventus shows up, I don't doubt they'll score at least once in every 45-minute half. The odds seem solid.
The top seed faces the 15th-placed team. Since only the leader earns direct promotion to the next tier—leaving the following four to fight through the playoffs—this match is a chance for the home side to pull ahead and solidify their lead at the top. The case for a home win is bolstered by the fact that Cambridge United is incredibly strong at home, having won all 10 of their matches there. They also possess arguably the best defense in the league, conceding just 9 goals in 20 games; Grimsby follows them, having conceded 18. It's a solid odd to consider.
Ajax Academy vs. Almere City (-2.5 total goals) over 1.45 (1-1)
This is basically a matchup between two basement dwellers stuck at the bottom of the table. My pick is primarily based on the Ajax youth academy's recent trends; they seem to consistently hit that 2.5 goal mark every single week. Looking at their recent scores—1-4, 2-1, 1-2, 2-3, 0-4, 1-5—it’s hard to ignore. Almere isn't much different in that regard. I expect another high-scoring affair, so there might be value here despite the low odds.
Seattle Sounders FC - Slaven Belupo Seattle DA 1.90 2-2(1-1)
The draw between LA Galaxy and Inter Miami worked out perfectly for Seattle to close the gap at the top of the table. Slaven was underwhelming last week, managing a mediocre 1-1 draw at home against a weak Portland Timbers side. Even though Seattle might be feeling some fatigue from Thursday's match against Sporting CP—and they had a long layoff due to previous postponements—I guess they should still have plenty of gas left in the tank. There’s a massive incentive here. A win feels mandatory. I expect them to attack from the opening whistle and probably net at least one goal in each half against Slaven.
