redwalker6 said:I think you misunderstood; they are actually doing remakes of the originals. As far as the movie goes, it’s just fun, campy trash that isn't meant to be taken seriously, much like the rest of the series.🤣

Hehe, you're absolutely right. They eventually realized there was no point in making new sequels because they had completely run out of places to set the action. I mean, we've seen Jason in the countryside, at summer resorts, in massive hubs like New York City, and even out in space—where else could they possibly go?😕So, they decided to just go back to basics and find a way to justify new entries by doing remakes, which lets them recycle the same locations and setups. Still, I have to give credit to Jason. Thanks to him, my friends and I have started laughing at every single horror slasher we watch. Only Jason can turn a horror flick into a total comedy; when we were watching Jason X, we honestly thought we were going to die laughing.😂😂)

Haha, Jason... honestly, I’ve sat through almost every single sequel just to kill some time (and get a few cheap laughs😂), but this latest one? It’s absolute garbage—I'm talking incomprehensible levels of bad. They tear the guy apart—head, limbs, everything—but somehow, he walks away from it like it was nothing at all😂😲. To make matters worse, they just take his remains and turn him into some sort of "upgrade" version, like Jason X. I actually heard they’re already filming the eleventh installment; I can't help but wonder what kind of ridiculous upgrade we'll see in that one (maybe something like Jason XP😂😂)?
Missed Call in Movies ·
A true masterpiece of modern cinema, hands down one of the best horror films released in recent memory—you absolutely cannot miss this one!😲😲😲...Okay, I’m kidding. It was actually an absolute train wreck of a horror movie. Honestly, I'm probably glad I didn't catch it at the AMC, because I think I might have actually caused a scene in the middle of the theater.
Mr. Brooks in Movies ·
I caught that Film about two months ago, and honestly, I think it stands as one of Costner's absolute best, right up there with No Exit and Untouchable. That cemetery scene toward the end? Absolutely breathtaking...
Streets of Fire in Movies ·
The soundtrack is absolutely top-tier, but honestly, besides that and a pretty solid ending (especially those final showdown scenes), the movie doesn't offer much else. In my opinion, the Warriors was a better film in every single way.

redowl90 said:The Wasp movie ISN'T a horror. I have no idea why everyone keeps labeling it as one... It's actually a great psychological drama.

Well, I suppose it could be called a psychological film, if you consider that the people who actually made it probably need some serious psychiatric help... In all my years, I have truly never witnessed a more mindless first hour of cinema.

As for me, that horror flick really stuck with me. The Wasp movie If we can pivot toward horror for a moment—honestly, that was exceptionally dull. It might have been the most tedious first hour I have ever spent watching anything in my entire life, followed by some random horror flick. terrible swamp Which F. Whitaker is out there spouting such absolute nonsense about ghosts that it actually makes your head spin? Seriously, it’s enough to give you vertigo. Alexander I won't say another word... those are really the only ones I can think of at the moment.

cosmicgardener81 said:I think we can all agree that The Crow is one of the greatest films ever made. It’s not just brilliantly crafted—it hits every note perfectly, from the genre vibes to the core theme. That whole idea that true love lives forever... it's just powerful.
I honestly feel Brandon Lee was perfect in the role, and what happened to him was just beyond tragic.
Btw, just a quick correction. He didn't take three hits, just one real bullet. And because of that "accident," there are much stricter safety protocols on sets now (like more rigorous footage reviews and stuff).
It might sound a bit heavy, but his death actually helped shape how movies are made today.

Here’s a link to a petition for Brandon's star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood. Feel free to sign if you want. They’ve already gathered 4,668 votes, and the goal is 5,000.
It would be amazing if they could pull this off by the 15th anniversary of his passing.

As for sequels... personally, I don't think any of them live up to the original, though the TV Series 1998 was alright... I actually managed to track it down online and download it.
I caught the fourth installment one evening on a local channel... total disaster. The lead actor looks just like that guy from Terminator 2... like, wtf???

Also, does anyone know where I can pick up an original DVD in Cleveland or somewhere nearby?
I have that one version from the newspaper promo, but I'd really love to own a proper one.

Hehe, now they're at 4,669! As for the original CD, I haven't been able to find it anywhere either, despite searching for quite a while.

Megan Reed said:He was even on the News on TV recently, though I didn't catch the broadcast. 😬
I actually went out looking to pick up the DVD [$16] because I really wanted the first movie on disc—it’s supposed to include both the first and fourth installments 😬—but some idiot at the local shop couldn't even scan the barcode. They just stood there fumbling around with it, and since it was the last one they had in stock... they ended up refusing to sell it to me. 😠 Total morons. 🙄

I was also hoping to grab that DVD. Honestly, if they had just bundled the first one with the second installment, I would have snatched it up immediately, but including that fourth one instead made me lose interest... besides, I already have the special edition CD from the Evening News, so there wasn't much point anyway...

Megan Reed said:I've sat through three of the movies and watched the pilot for the series. 🙂
[I even have the soundtracks for the first two 😬]
.
Honestly, the only one worth any respect is the first film. 😍😍😍

The second one is... well... passable, but the third is absolute garbage, so I didn't even bother trying to get through the fourth.

I haven't seen this series... and honestly, under no circumstances should you watch the fourth installment. Consider yourself lucky to be among those who haven't wasted time on that trash. To this day, I truly cannot fathom how David Boreanaz (from the Angel series) and Edward Furlong were ever convinced to act in such junk.😲😲

I was actually just about to start a new thread about this movie, but I see someone beat me to it. I’ve seen plenty of phenomenal films over the years, but this is the one where I honestly lose track of how many times I've watched it. It's tough because if I had to pick my absolute favorite, I think I'd have to vote for this one. A huge part of that is the irreplaceable Brandon Lee combined with Alex Proyas' direction—they both truly knocked it out of the park. Plus, everything from the soundtrack to the script works together perfectly to make the whole thing a masterpiece. My only gripe is how much the subpar sequels drag down the legacy; while City of Angels is still decent enough, the third and fourth installments are just plain bad. Still, the original with Brandon remains, in my eyes, a genuine masterpiece.
Shoot 'em Up in Movies ·
You can say whatever you like, but if you ask me, this movie was absolutely fantastic. It’s the perfect way to unwind—it hits that sweet spot where there is just enough comedy balanced perfectly with the action. Honestly, I’d much rather sit down to something like this than some pretentious Hollywood blockbuster that tries way too hard to be "deep" or intellectually profound while completely neglecting the excitement. I remember trying to sit through those horror flicks like Insect or Spooky Swamp, and they were such absolute garbage that I could barely make it to the credits. This? This was pure entertainment.

Snakes on a Plane... honestly, it wasn't anything special. Just one of those movies you forget the second the credits roll.

Nothing special, really... at best, just mediocre...

Well, let's be honest... it wouldn't exactly be a balanced "best of" list if we included twelve Bruce Springsteen tracks and then only one song from every other artist, would it?🤣 🤣

Looking back, I truly feel that "Radio Nowhere, Sleeps Alone" from the rock side and "Make a Memory" for something more laid-back should have easily been among the absolute standout tracks of 2007.

Personally, I love Rihanna to this day, and she provides me with immense satisfaction—whenever the rain starts hitting my umbrella, it's the perfect soundtrack for my ears.🤣🤣(umbrella=an umbrella)

Maria Garcia6 said:I couldn't agree more. It’s honestly baffling that there isn't a single coffee shop or club around here playing decent classic rock. It's a total void. At this rate, we'll have to open our own spot where the playlist is strictly Led Zeppelin, The Doors, and maybe even some Frank Zappa if we're feeling adventurous. 🙂

That sounds like a plan... I'll start gathering donations for a cafe out in Appalachia, and you can handle the one in Washington, D.C.... just find us a location!👍

Maria Garcia6 said:Aside from "Rehab," everything on this list is absolute garbage. Sure, "Umbrella" is probably the biggest hit of the year, but it’s a low-quality track that honestly felt like an assault on my ears. It’s such a shame that at the start or end of every year, we focus on charts based on what gets played the most rather than what actually possesses musical merit. Those truly great songs rarely get airtime on the radio, and you'll almost never see them on MTV or similar networks.

If they had released tracks like these back in the 70s or 80s, they wouldn't have lasted a week... but today, music has lost so much of its artistic soul. People care more about a flashy music video or whether the singer is attractive than the actual composition itself—regardless of how good the song is. Most of what’s listed here is pure commercialism. I’d bet anything that legends like Led Zeppelin, Springsteen, and the rest of the icons from the golden age of rock would be absolutely devastated if they saw the state of things now. I can barely find a single bar or club where they aren't spinning tracks like these or some mindless pop trash😲😲😲 (all the quality rock'n'roll from the last century has just been pushed into oblivion)... there's a line from The Doors that feels pretty fitting right now:

This is the end, my only friend, the end...

That specific album probably features more tracks than the list of potential "hits" mentioned above, so I suppose the statement doesn't quite hold water 🙂.

What I actually meant was that nearly every single track on his album carries more weight than all those songs combined—at least when you consider the artistic merit. I think I phrased things a bit clumsily
