Academic Plagiarism: What are your thoughts? in Criminal and Misdemeanor Law ·
Here’s the specific situation

I finished my bachelor's degree and moved straight into a graduate specialist program—only to find out later that parts of that undergrad thesis were plagiarized.

Is there any actual fallout for my current grad program? Since the bachelor's was a separate degree and already wrapped up, does it even matter?

I need to know every possible consequence and scenario here—and honestly, if anyone has advice on how to dodge this mess entirely, I'm all ears.

Thanks.
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
Hey,

Does anyone have a solid recommendation for a private specialist in Washington, D.C. who handles male chest reduction? And let's be clear—I'm not talking about gynecomastia here—just pure fat removal. Also, does anyone know what kind of damage I'm looking at price-wise for a procedure like that?
Nausea and back pain in Health ·
Every single time I deal with stomach nausea, my back starts acting up too—right in the exact spot directly behind my stomach. How do you even explain that connection? Right now, I’m dealing with both the nausea and the back pain simultaneously and I have no idea what to do... does one trigger the other, or am I looking at two symptoms from the same underlying issue?

Dammit
I assume this isn't happening at every single hospital, right?
What about the private clinics? How "specialized" are they actually when it comes to specific intestinal diseases, for instance?

Hey, I’ve heard the doctors over at St. Spirit are actually decent—friendly and approachable—which is a massive step up from those guys at Rebro. Because of that, I’m looking for a recommendation for someone who specializes in inflammatory bowel disease. When I go to book an appointment, would I probably be looking at a shorter wait time at St. Spirit compared to Rebro? My assumption is that since Rebro handles way more IBD cases, the queue there must be a nightmare—or am I totally off base?
Capsule Endoscopy in Health ·
I assume it's because the diameter is larger—and during a colonoscopy, doctors can actually maneuver the scope however they want, whereas they can't exactly steer this capsule, right...?
Either way, can this capsule actually capture images or at least detect things like a polyp in the colon?
Capsule Endoscopy in Health ·
So, I just heard about this pill camera thing—you swallow a capsule and it records your entire digestive tract as it moves through you... Apparently, Ribbon has been using this tech since 2006... but I’m looking for more details. Is this something anyone can just walk in and get? What’s the damage to the wallet? Pros, cons, and where exactly can you actually go to get this done?
Swords in Martial Arts & Combat Sports ·
I’m with you—this thread needs to be nuked. It’s just handing useful intel to potential maniacs on a silver platter.

Where can I pick up a machete in Chicago? And before anyone starts—is it actually illegal to walk around town carrying one? I don't have any bad intentions here—let's just say it's strictly for self-defense... and more importantly, does anyone know if there are any actual courses for machete handling? Like some kind of martial art or combat skill?
I need to get a routine procedure done—nothing major, really—but I’m stuck in this dilemma: do I go private or just wait it out at the VA hospital? The only thing stopping me from booking a private specialist right now is the price tag; they're asking about $333, which feels like a massive overkill for such a minor intervention. That said, I know exactly what I'm signing up for if I choose the government route—months of waiting around just to finally see a doctor. There’s also the question of expertise—is it even a fair comparison? I have this nagging feeling that a doctor at a major state hospital has handled way more cases like this than some specialist at a boutique private clinic... am I totally off base here? When you weigh the cost against the experience, who should I actually trust? Should I go private or stick with the public system?
Nail care tips? in Health ·
Most of the time, those spots point toward a zinc deficiency... if you’re eating enough meat and eggs, you shouldn't be running into this issue—unless, of course, you're having sex or masturbating way too often (say, more than three times a week). You end up depleted because ejaculate is loaded with zinc!
How to gain weight? in Health ·
It’s actually quite simple—you have to exceed your basal metabolic rate every single day. That’s just the energy your body burns just to keep your organs functioning and everything running. To figure it out, you convert your weight into pounds—say, if you're 143 lbs, you multiply that by 2.2—then add about 15 to that number to get your daily caloric baseline. Let’s say that comes out to 2,000 calories. Well, that means you need to be hitting at least 3,000 to 3,500 calories a day because those initial 2,000 don't account for physical labor, training, or anything else you do. You follow me? Now, look—if a pound of fat is roughly 3,000 calories, you need to "load up" on those extra 3,000 over time. If you stay at a 500-calorie surplus every day, it’ll take you about six days to pack on a pound of fat. Of course, if you're lifting weights, that ratio shifts slightly toward muscle rather than just pure fat. And honestly? Load up on carbohydrates—white bread, white rice, pizza, bananas, things with a high glycemic index. That’s how you gain weight fast. You aren't going to bulk up much on just meat and vegetables.
Cardio vs. Weights: Which is better? in Hobbies & Leisure ·
Simple question, simple answer. I’m hitting the weights three times a week and was doing cardio twice a week—my goal is to finally torch this stubborn belly fat. Which approach actually works better?
1. 45-60 minutes of lifting, followed immediately by another 45 minutes of cardio (cycling), three times a week.
2. Splitting them up—weights one day, cardio the next. For example: Mon-weights, Tue-cardio, Wed-weights, and so on.

I keep hearing HIIT is the gold standard for my situation, but for various reasons, it's off the table. So, which route should I take if I want to maximize fat burning without completely wrecking my muscle recovery?
I picked this tip up from someone who dealt with the exact same acne struggles—and actually cleared them up using this method. It worked for them, it worked for me, and frankly, I’m done trying to prove anything to anyone... This is primarily for those of you battling breakouts: just give it two weeks. You should see an improvement, and since it costs you absolutely nothing, the results will be your proof. 😉
As for all you skeptics out there—ask yourselves why the internet isn't flooded with scientific studies on this. Ask yourselves why a simple solution hasn't been "discovered" yet, leaving everyone else to bleed money on endless drugstore products... Think whatever you want, but the truth will eventually reveal itself to those willing to actually try this method. 🙂
Michael Sanders54, in a way, I believe you because of how certain you sound—but let's be real, you probably don't even deal with acne. You likely have an active sex life, and while I agree with your point—sex means no clean face 🙂—don't miss my point about hormonal imbalances being the root cause. Of course, someone who abstains for a long time is going to have hormonal shifts too, but get this: hormonal imbalance doesn't affect everyone the same way. Some people get acne, some don't. This advice is specifically for those struggling with breakouts: check your hormone levels, get them back to baseline if they're off, and you'll see the improvement automatically.
Just one month of abstinence 😁

Once your hormone levels stabilize and the acne clears up, you can go back to your old routine—but you have to be smart about it. Avoid daily sex or masturbation; aim for maybe two or three times a week at most. That’s how you prevent those massive hormonal spikes—that absolute circus happening inside your body... I can't guarantee this will cure everyone, obviously, but I was a nightmare case myself and managed to clear my skin just by regulating my hormones. Honestly, what do these dermatologists even do? They just sell people on useless products when the solution is actually this simple.
Why was my previous post deleted? I was literally just explaining how I cleared up my acne without using a single topical product—just by managing my hormones through sexual abstinence. Seriously? Now I’m hoping this one doesn't get nuked too, because I actually wanted to start a discussion here. Does anyone actually have any insight into the link between hormone levels and breakouts? Do yourselves a favor and do a quick Google search on the connection between prolactin and acne, or even just general hormonal imbalances and skin issues...
Plasma Donation in Health ·
I’ve been donating plasma over at Rockefeller for a while now, and I’m getting $50 every single week—takes about 45 minutes of my time. So, look—if you’re healthy and looking to make some extra cash, just head down and donate plasma. At least go see what the deal is... $200 Doing this once a month isn't bad at all, and honestly, you're doing something genuinely good for people. That plasma goes right back into manufacturing essential medicines. 😉
It says you absolutely have to bring the order confirmation to the appointment—but all I got was an email stating when my appointment was scheduled... so, what's the deal? Am I not supposed to bring some kind of physical confirmation or something?
Look, you don't necessarily need a doctor right away—just try what I laid out for you first. Keep your arm extended most of the time, especially while you're sleeping. Give that a shot for a week. If things start improving, then maybe you can ease off, but if not? Then yeah, go see a specialist. Who knows—maybe it’s actually a pinched nerve on your end rather than mine, and you'll definitely need professional help, or maybe it isn't even that... just try this for a week and see how it goes.
I dealt with this exact same thing about six months ago—and it dragged on for months until I actually took the time to look up some nerve anatomy online. It was infuriating. My pinky, part of my ring finger, and the area right below the pinky were completely numb, and honestly, the worst part was losing grip strength in my entire hand. Just Google "ulnar nerve" and look at some diagrams; it’ll make sense immediately. Your nerve is getting pinched at the elbow, which is why everything went numb. It’s probably because you sleep with your elbow bent too much, or maybe you’re constantly leaning your elbow against your desk? Personally, I thought it would just go away on its own—wrong. You have to change your habits to fix it. Try to keep your elbow straight when you're using a mouse (if it's that hand), stop leaning your elbow on anything, and most importantly, keep your arm completely straight while you sleep. I followed those steps and the whole thing vanished within a week. There you go.
