Morgan Kern61 said:My female coworkers and friends are really starting to get on my nerves with comments like this:

"Wait, you're still working?!" — I've been at it for months now. I'm 27 weeks along, and I have a desk job; it's not like I'm out in the fields or hauling heavy sacks of potatoes...

"Why haven't you gone on maternity leave yet?" — Well, I haven't even dealt with morning sickness, so...

"You should just rest, you'll need the energy".... I suppose I should just sleep all day to build up a reserve for when the baby actually arrives.

And then there are those who already have kids and give me that "it's such a beautiful thing" nonsense. It’s exhausting.

Add to that the fact that I can barely turn over in bed at night,

and my already low tolerance for stupidity is becoming non-existent.😂

🙏
I'm dealing with the exact same thing. I'm over 32 weeks along and still clocking in every day...
It feels like everyone around me finds it more exhausting that I'm working than I actually do. Honestly, just let me be. 🙄
I know exactly how you feel... they constantly ask why I'm still working. Because I need the paycheck, obviously! Why else would anyone work? 🙄 🙄
Hannah Lewis2 🙂
Thanks! I really needed to hear that from someone like you...
Honestly, I’m not even going to be the one driving. I'll just happily sit in the passenger seat. We'll just head out whenever we feel like it, grab some food, have a few drinks, maybe some cookies... I am genuinely looking forward to this summer getaway. And hey, I'm hoping I don't go into labor while we're down there, but then again, if it happens, it happens.
Taylor Perez, Nicholas Gonzalez2, please forgive me, but I honestly can't even process your concerns right now because I am just so incredibly frustrated. I feel like such an idiot—what was I thinking, planning a trip to the beach in Santa Monica right now? 😵 😵 😕
The best they can do is ask: "But what if you end up having a baby there?"
And what am I supposed to say? I don't know... thank you all for encouraging me to head to the coast, I guess? *Sigh.* In the end, we won't be going at all. 🙂 🙂 I'm just feeling so exhausted... and angry... all at once.

What if something happens to me? What if I give birth there? 🙂 I truly have no idea how to answer such ridiculous, senseless questions.
In June, when those holidays are coming up, my partner and I are planning to link up that week and head down to the coast. (I’ll actually be on maternity leave by then). I am genuinely looking forward to it, but everyone around me—my aunts, my girlfriends, all of them—just look at me with this expression of pure disbelief. They can't understand why I'd want to put myself through the hassle of such a long drive... (we're talking all the way down to Santa Monica).
They’re honestly sucking the joy right out of me.... 🙄 🙄
What is their problem? Why does it bother them so much that I'm heading to the beach while pregnant? Who even cares? 😢
Terry Ramos60 said:How do you all handle those moments? For instance, how do you even begin to explain that your baby is actually alive without losing your mind over those incredibly foolish comments—whether they come from some random lady passing by on the sidewalk, or a mother, a mother-in-law, a godmother, a close friend, or just any number of other people?
Even I had a distant relative in her thirties ask me if my baby had "come back to life"—I honestly just laughed in total confusion because I couldn't quite wrap my head around what she was even trying to ask, so I simply told her yes.
It’s such unnecessary drama, isn't it?

But anyway, getting back to the main point—nothing gets under my skin or irritates me anymore. Honestly, I feel absolutely wonderful!
I wouldn't say I'm usually someone who ignores the small stuff, but ever since I became pregnant, I’ve found myself looking at everything through rose-colored glasses, focusing on the sunshine and the butterflies, and I am truly loving every single minute of it!

Well, we just don't feel like doing it... which is exactly why we get so frustrated. 😬
And then we end up venting about it right here... 😬 😬

Unfortunately, at least in my experience, it isn't really a choice of whether you want to be bothered or not. It just happens. I get worked up, even though I know deep down it's stupid and unnecessary and shouldn't matter, but it's an instinctive reaction and, sadly, there isn't much you can do about it! 🙄 🤷
rowdyviper7 said:I honestly just got incredibly frustrated out of nowhere because of my aunt. Out of the blue, she decided to lecture me about how we "have" to get married, and then she goes on about how the baby shouldn't have my last name at the hospital, only to switch to my father's surname a few days later. She couldn't even explain for the life of her why any of this matters—it’s honestly ridiculous. It feels so wrong that my dad would even have to go down to the registrar's office to formally recognize the child (seriously, that’s just awful...). I can't stand the thought of my baby being seen as some kind of outsider from day one—that is easily the most offensive word in the English language! To make matters worse, just a few days ago, she was all, "Oh, kids these days, just do whatever makes you happy, times have changed and nobody cares about those old traditions anymore." Now? Suddenly, she’s completely flipped. I have no idea what's gotten into her or who's driving her hormones crazy lately... ugh...

dear 🙂
Why on earth is she worrying about which last name the kid has at the hospital versus what happens later? It's nonsense. And there is absolutely nothing shameful about acknowledging your own child. When you're married, the father doesn't have to deal with any "shame" of recognizing his kid, and besides, who can actually guarantee he's the father anyway? 🙄 🙄

Our laws are so incredibly stupid regarding this presumption of paternity. It gets to the point where they won't even let you register the actual biological father if you're married to someone else, even if all three people involved agree...
Get this: I'm married to Person A, but Person B is the father of my child. Even if all three of us agree that Person B is the dad—and Person A could even be infertile—the law doesn't care. They insist that the husband is the father. 👎
That's what really irritates me... 😠 because it's just foolish and illogical.
And there's no shame in acknowledging your child 😲 so why would it be considered shameful?
Good grief, people can be so dense. 👎

When I work full-time, my tax contributions to the IRS are way higher than whatever payout I’ll actually see during those six months off.

I am honestly fed up with this government. Why is there always money flowing for people like that, while those of us actually funding the treasury only get stuck with a measly six-month maternity leave?

Same here. 😛
It honestly drives me crazy when I’m feeling stressed and try to vent to my partner about it, only to have him respond with, "Oh, so you're just going to get worked up over nothing?" 😠
It’s honestly so frustrating:
Another day, another commute on the subway. And once again, I’m getting those judgmental looks because I’m sitting down. Apparently, being young means you should always be standing. 🙂 🙂 😢
Plus, there's the swelling—my poor legs just can't take much more of this. 🙂
I honestly don't see the point in worrying constantly. I just want to know if I'm being a bad mother if I don't panic when I haven't felt the baby move for an hour or so... Is it normal to start worrying after thirty minutes, or do people wait a whole day?

God bless 🙂 hope you get an answer soon!
Christian Brown67 said:It’s driving me crazy today. It is such a gorgeous Saturday outside, and I was all geared up to go for a long walk or finally tackle a deep clean of the apartment—honestly, I can't remember the last time I actually felt motivated to scrub the place top to bottom. But then I get started, and five minutes later? I’m winded, my stomach is aching, and I can feel the baby pressing low, forcing me to just sit down and rest. And I’m only 22 weeks along! 😲
Everyone spent my entire first trimester telling me how the second trimester would be pure bliss. They promised no nausea, a manageable bump, and enough energy to conquer the world...
Well, sure, the cravings are there, but the actual stamina? Nonexistent.
Now I’m starting to panic about how I'm going to make it to my eighth month if I’m already hitting a wall after five minutes of movement. 😢

What a joke of a signature! They kept telling me, "Just wait, you'll see—you’re going to be so much more upbeat and full of energy." Yeah, right. As if. I feel just as sleepy as I did before, and with the final quarter of the year already closing in, I'm still stuck feeling completely drained and unmotivated.

Honestly, it drives me absolutely crazy when people start telling me how great things are going to be once I hit my second trimester—as if they have some kind of crystal ball. Especially since I’m actually exiting that phase in just ten days. Why does everyone feel the need to offer unsolicited predictions about my pregnancy? 👎

I have to say, this constant swelling is really starting to get under my skin. 😠

Don't you realize the moderators have those privileges? It's just us "regular" folks who are restricted.

A friend of mine actually looked at me and said, "You've put on some weight." So, I just told her straight up, "Yeah, that's normal—I'm pregnant." And her response? "Why are you getting so defensive right away?"
🤷 Honestly, I don't even know what to say anymore...

If any of you ladies are living that unmarried life, you totally get what I’m getting at. All these mindless questions about marriage, weddings, or that fake "concern" over my kid's last name, whether the dad acknowledges them, or how people will judge them for not being born into a "traditional" family (EXCUSE ME??!!). Then comes the unsolicited advice—it’s honestly gross! 😠 😱
Growing up (and thanks to her for that 👍), my mom taught me that you don't just pry into private stuff. If you don't know someone well enough, mind your own business!
But nope, nowadays everyone thinks they have a right to weigh in on absolutely everything and stick their nose where it doesn't belong. It's unbelievable.🤷
I seriously refuse to believe anyone can look "wrongly" at MY CHILD just because we aren't married. wtf?!

edit: I’m starting to have massive respect for single moms. Who knows what kind of nonsense they have to deal with from the neighbors? 😢

Oh honey, we have been through it all.
The best thing is that we've been together for four years now, and we've actually lived together for over two. People were already asking when we were finally going to tie the knot back then, and honestly, it used to bother me.
But now that I'm pregnant, suddenly it's "well, it's really time to get married." 🙂
I truly don't understand what the big deal is.
And as for the legal recognition stuff? They act like we're doing something wrong. They worry the kid will have issues, or that we'll run into legal hurdles during the recognition process. 😂 Then I ask, what kind of issues? And they just 🤷
laugh it off, saying, "Well, who can guarantee a husband is actually the biological father in a marriage?" Nobody. (Most of the time he is, sure, but there are cases where he isn't). 🤣
So, according to them, we're just "unmarried partners"—some lower class of people—and our child is even lower on the totem pole.
What are the actual reasons to get married, I wonder? Just so the neighbors don't gossip? To hell with them. I have nothing against constructive advice or positive examples, but nobody can tell me why we *should* be married... what do we or our child actually gain from it, other than making sure "the neighbors don't judge us"? I couldn't care less about what the neighbors think when they're being this judgmental.
Jesse Evans85 said:I have them. 🙄 They showed up on my legs ages ago, and now they're appearing on my stomach too. No stretch marks yet—fingers crossed I avoid those—but these little burst capillaries are definitely there.
They aren't quite as obvious as the ones on my legs, but they're noticeable enough.

What's really getting under my skin:

1. Some retiree at the checkout who actually had the nerve to ask if she could cut in front of me in the Target line because she was in such a rush... 🙄I have no idea why everyone in that generation is suddenly in such a frantic hurry.
2. A woman sitting behind me on the bus who stood up to give an old man her seat, making a comment directed at me about how "young people today are so rude" and won't even offer their seats...

I mean, what is wrong with people? My baby bump is already pretty prominent (so much for trying to hide the pregnancy), and apparently, I'm also expected to jump up and give priority to everyone I encounter.😠

3. My mother-in-law—who calls me just to say, "let me hear how you are," but I never even get a chance to answer because I spend the next twenty minutes listening to a monologue about her own problems.

Honestly, this gets under my skin too; I've been through it myself. 🙂

It frustrates me that I’m still constantly exhausted—that fatigue from the first trimester just hasn't lifted. It frustrates me that I have zero motivation for anything.
It frustrates me that my husband is busy working whenever I just want to be held and pampered.

And even though I've said it a hundred times already: it drives me crazy when people touch my stomach! :2up:
...nobody ever used to touch me before, but now they do without asking, and then they act all disappointed because they didn't feel the baby kick. 😠 😠 😠

edit: it also annoys me that I can never seem to catch up on the missed posts here on TZ😠

It's frustrating knowing I have an appointment this afternoon and I'll probably be stuck waiting for hours.
And it bugs me that I might (once again) not find out the baby's gender.
This meme is driving me insanea flyhas been buzzing around my office for two hours now, circling right above my head🙂
We don't have any bug spray on hand, and there isn't anyone around to swat it away. I'm at a complete loss here.

I just hope it dies off over the weekend... it is seriously getting on my nerves!!
I mean, I’ll be happy regardless if I have a son (it’s not like I’d be miserable), even though I’m really crossing my fingers for a girl.😍
My husband says it doesn't matter to him, and honestly, I truly believe he means it.
It honestly drives me crazy when I log on first thing in the morning only to have the forum tell me you aren't logged in. To make matters worse, I feel like I'm being forced to re-authenticate after every single post or even just while trying to read a thread. 😠
Dear John Baker5, that just goes to show how much you care, and that such a thing would never even cross your mind. 🙂
To be honest, my boss gets under my skin sometimes—even though he’s actually a great guy. It’s just that he won't let me cut corners or play fast and loose with the rules... and I really want to see how far I can push things. Even now, I feel like I’m already testing the limits.
