Steven Barrett6 said:I seriously hate these stupid stories about how you have to "eat for two." Like, people don't get that it's just a figure of speech? It drives me insane. Modern medicine has moved way past that nonsense and actually knows what works and what doesn't As if it isn't hard enough already dealing with obesity rates, now they want us all overeating too. We eat exactly what we need to eat.
I think I read this somewhere once, though I can't quite recall where... Sure, technically, a pregnant woman is eating for two, but let's be real: one of those two is a tiny little baby whose nutritional needs aren't exactly comparable to those of a fully grown adult. So, fine, you could say a pregnant woman "eats for two" because her requirements are higher than they were before, but she isn't eating enough food for two adults.
At the end of the day, we are eating for our babies; nobody else is eating on their behalf. We just shouldn't feel obligated to overindulge just because of them!
It’s not like I turned on caps lock or anything, it’s just that the font size is larger.
- one line with a larger font (size=3) - two lines (including spacing) using standard font (size=2) or - three lines using a smaller font (size=1).
To be honest, I used to always set my signature to a small font, "size=1." I prefer it that way; I don't really like it when the signature ends up being the same size as—or even larger than—the actual post text.
Where can I find it in DM? Which aisle in DM is it in? What kind of items is it shelved with? I've never come across it before, but I'm really looking to pick one up.
Light sedation... why bother? One woman I spoke with insists it isn't even true anesthesia. And then there's the issue of the cost—it’s quite steep. Honestly, I don't know when it would actually be worth the investment. If I could be absolutely certain it would work, I’d opt for it in a heartbeat.
Magnetic therapy and MRI technology Hi everyone. I’ve been struggling quite a bit with my weight lately, and honestly, sticking to a strict diet just isn't working for me right now. Because of that, I was wondering if anyone here has ever tried magnetic therapy? I’ve heard claims that it can help with obesity, smoking cessation, and even depression. Does anyone know what these treatments typically cost? I would love to hear about your experiences—both the good and the bad—if you've tried them. Also, if there are any medical professionals in the group, I would truly value your professional opinion on this. Thanks in advance for the help.
Honestly, I don't think that’s actually the reason you ended up seeing a therapist. As for the vomiting, I haven't done that myself, though there are times when I just feel like I need to get sick after eating way too much.
There’s a massive difference between actual hunger and just having a craving for something sweet, much like how I feel when I'm not even hungry but still want a treat. It seems a bit ridiculous that you ended up in psychotherapy just because you ate while you were feeling hungry.
You clearly have plenty of experience and you know exactly what you're talking about. You seem to have an answer for everything. But honestly, you haven't offered me any practical advice. You told me I should just stop eating, but then I had to ask you: if you're so incredibly brilliant, why did you end up in psychotherapy? Why didn't you just stop eating either?
It’s honestly the worst when people act like complete idiots and have zero clue what I'm going through. Even trying to distract myself with a decent book doesn't seem to work anymore.
Oh, please. You really think you're the smartest person in the room, don't you? If you're so brilliant, why don't you just stop eating? And more importantly, if you're such a genius, why on earth are you sitting in therapy sessions? Why haven't you managed to fix your own diet yet?
Honestly, I’m at a total loss when it comes to finding clothes that actually fit. I’ve had my fill of all that cheap stuff from the flea markets, and frankly, none of the standard options at your typical department stores seem to cater to me. It’s incredibly frustrating. If I try to size up just to get things over my hips, then everything ends up being far too loose in some places and way too short in others. It makes me feel absolutely terrible—just bloated and out of proportion. I really don't know what to do anymore. Any advice? Please, help me out.
I’ve been trying to cut back on sugar lately, but honestly, my cravings for chocolate and pastries are relentless—it feels like an uphill battle I can't win. My go-to move is just buying a massive Hershey’s bar to devour all by myself. And don't even get me started on people dipping into my stash of cookies; it drives me crazy! I haven't actually relapsed yet, but I'm seriously considering it, especially since I'm getting uncomfortably close to that 200-pound mark.
