Birth control and libido in Women's Health ·
Elizabeth Davis said:Look, I already told you guys that I can't even begin to relax unless I'm on the pill... and yeah, maybe I messed up and had unprotected sex once or twice, but honestly, that was only because there was some incredibly, ridiculously, absolutely massive reason for it... plus, back then I was just this hopelessly, crazily in love kid, so... I'm not exactly much older now, but I am certainly a lot smarter when it comes to this stuff... 🙄

With all the diseases out there, you shouldn't be letting your guard down even if you are on the pill.

Elizabeth Davis said:Honestly, I feel a little less alone after reading this... I find taking the pill completely pointless because—what’s the point of having the physical ability to have sex whenever you want if you technically never actually want to?

I don't know... I was on Yasmin... I wasn't exactly feeling turned on... I took a break for a while and everything seemed fine... then I started Triquilar... and it's the exact same story. I have this constant, paralyzing fear of getting pregnant, so I can almost never truly relax during sex. I didn't deal with that specific anxiety when I was on the pill, but now...

What should I do?? 🙂

Condoms?
I'm completely burnt out in Psychology ·
driftingtiger2 said:Feeling a bit better today. Got some breathing room at work yesterday—they pushed my deadline to December 31st. So, until then, nobody’s getting fired and I’m not handing in my notice... at least, hopefully.
My philosophy? Things can always get worse, so just keep moving. Don't mope. Whatever happens, the world keeps spinning. And when things truly become unbearable? Well, you can always die. I try not to be overly dramatic, but when everything hits at once... it's hard. I'm so exhausted I almost wish I could just get sick, end up in a hospital bed, and have everyone leave me alone for two weeks without asking for a single thing. 😢What kind of luck would that be? Even in a hospital, I'd probably still be stuck with my work phone and laptop...
Got some new pets, but a dog isn't an option. Living in an apartment means I don't want one sitting there alone all day...

Matthew Hayes14 is right. Sometimes I need that peace you get from cleaning or ironing—just doing chores around the house... putting on some music and working through it. It's funny, I can't actually sit still, otherwise I just start overthinking everything.

Anyway, I've lost 15 pounds in the last six months. I had quite a bit to lose, so I wouldn't say I'm thin now, but I just don't have much of an appetite lately...

Just get a cat; they’re amazing doctors, and you can find plenty of them over at Blue Paw.
And honestly, taking a trip for at least four days would do wonders too..

He’d be much better off just investing in some refrigerated display cases and slashing his prices down to $2.00.
The way things are going now, he can kiss it goodbye.....

Most of the ingredients in Nescafe are actually sourced from abroad, which leads us straight into that whole "importing to export" trap—basically, you're importing raw materials just so you can ship out the finished product later.
The logic is that you end up paying significantly less in customs duties on those raw materials...
Caffeine addiction? in Health ·
Laura Roberts61 said:Ugh, I’m actually trying to gear up for a caffeine detox starting this weekend, mostly just so I don't end up being an absolute nervous wreck at my desk on Monday morning.

The issue is that my blood pressure tends to run low, so how on earth am I supposed to function normally in the mornings without coffee? Anyone got any advice?

Maybe try some hazelnut extract.
I actually had pretty solid experiences getting my eyes checked over at the Eye Care Center in Chicago and grabbing some reading glasses from that little shop on Michigan Avenue—some old gentleman runs the place, very old-school style.
He does the pupil dilation tests properly, though I couldn't say for certain; you should probably check out that other thread regarding laser eye surgery discussions.
Diaphragm issues in Women's Health ·
Emily Rodriguez67 said:The diaphragm is generally intended for married women—basically, people who actually have a stable partner to deal with. In my view, it’s most practical for a wife who can just slip it in or take it out amidst the comfort and privacy of her own home. Trying to manage any of this in a car, at a party, or wherever else you might find yourself is an absolute nightmare.
The cost is roughly $23 for the spermicide used with a pack of 12 vaginal inserts. Then there's the lubricant gel you apply to the diaphragm to make placement easier, which I think runs about $5 and lasts for maybe 30 uses.
Here is what my lady uses; good luck to you. I will report back on how practical it actually turns out to be.

All that messy lubrication, the application process, and the constant risk of leaking makes the whole thing a hundred times more impractical and unhygienic than just using a condom.
And honestly, it's probably even more expensive too.
Not to mention, if you experience any weight fluctuations, you're stuck having to buy a whole new one.

Grace Taylor35 said:Roughly how much are we talking about here?

Don’t quote me on the exact number— $25but maybe around ten different apps.
And honestly, even if you get the tech sorted, dealing with all that is going to be a hell of a lot more exhausting and complicated than just grabbing a box of condoms at a CVS.

Megan Diaz45 said:hmm, I’ve actually started considering using a diaphragm. $117 It doesn't seem like a huge commitment over that timeframe, but I’m going to need you to check back in with me once you figure out the whole insertion and removal process, because honestly, the idea of having to prep it thirty minutes before sex only to have to deal with taking it out six to eight hours later is genuinely stressing me out.
I’m waiting to hear if anyone else has any firsthand experiences they’d be willing to share. 😁

Those spermicides are absolutely not cheap, which makes the whole thing a complete waste of money if you ask me.
Not to mention the fact that you're basically inviting every possible infection to move right in.
So—long live the condom...
Why am I always so tired? in Health ·
First off, you really need to start drinking more water; you might just be dehydrated.
Second, there's a real possibility you're dealing with some kind of urinary tract infection.
Third, your blood pressure could be running too low.
Fatigue can also be a red flag for much more serious underlying conditions.
And for heaven's sake, don't go ignoring depression either.
Nicholas Chavez70 said:Can you see the irony in all this? There was a time when people were actually starving, wasting away from sickness and malnutrition, and back then, carrying extra weight was seen as a true sign of wealth and prosperity, but today everything has flipped on its head—people are practically drowning in excess calories, yet being overweight is treated like a total disgrace...

And let’s be honest, people are still dying from starvation just as much as they are from obesity—if anything, the latter is killing them even faster these days.
Personally, I find obesity shameful because, more often than not, it's just a glaring symptom of pure laziness.
The obesity epidemic in this country isn't some byproduct of overstaffed health departments or anything like that; it’s actually driven by the relentless rise of poverty.
People are forced to survive on cheap, filling garbage just to get through the day.
Keep spending your money on her fancy lentils while you still can, because if I were you, I wouldn't be rushing into getting LASIK anytime soon.
Lump on outer labia in Health ·
boldcrane10 said:Earlier today, I noticed this little lump—about the size of a pea, really—that doesn't actually hurt at all. It’s located right underneath the clitoris, near the vestibule. You can't see it from the outside, you can only feel it if you palpate the area. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? My doctor is booked solid and I won't be able to get an appointment for another week. Honestly, I'm terrified it might be some kind of tumor :-( Thanks in advance.

No, it’s likely just an atheroma that'll probably keep growing and might eventually require surgery to shrink it down.
It's nothing major, just some lipids.

I honestly don't think it’s worth the headache, because you'll find yourself stuck buying new ones every single year, and since the lighting shifts constantly throughout the day, it just becomes a total nightmare to manage
The Darjeeling Limited in Movies ·
The movie is charming enough—the atmosphere and the cast really hit the mark.
That train sequence, though? It’s an absolute disaster.
Ultimately, you probably won't remember this film by next week, but it’s decent enough entertainment if you've got the time.
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
You really ought to head over to Siget Health Center; they’re offering a full annual checkup for free, and honestly, when you consider it costs about the same as a basic insurance premium, the value is absolutely unbeatable.
