Why are some people always in such a rush? in Psychology ·
Jamie Newman5 said:You can get a massive amount done in 24 hours, or you can decide to prioritize your own laziness. People hate admitting they're lazy, so they invent excuses about "shifting priorities" instead.

Do you have kids? Probably not, since they aren't a priority...☕

If you had two or three kids running around, your maneuvering room would shrink fast. Daily activities wouldn't be a matter of choosing priorities anymore; they'd just be a routine you're forced to follow, regardless of what you want.

Having kids is a personal choice. I honestly find it hilarious when parents whine about being too busy, as if they didn't choose this life themselves. 🙄Nobody forced anyone into anything.☕ Life turns out however you manage your own schedule. We're all rushing somewhere, but some people act like being perpetually busy makes them superior, constantly fishing for sympathy or validation from others. Or the ones bragging about working three jobs. You're doing that for yourself, not me. Some things I tackle right away, some I put off. Whatever. Either way, I don't sit around complaining about my responsibilities.
Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
It honestly makes me sick when people who have zero experience with this kind of pain start talking about "drama." My pain tolerance is actually pretty high. I deal with sinus infections tearing me apart every other month and I live with Crohn’s. I can handle a lot, but when those cramps hit, the pain combined with the mood swings is just brutal. Everyone gets on my last nerve during those times, and frankly, I just want to be left alone. Tylenol is basically my only option because everything else just makes me feel nauseous. And don't even get me started on the PMS a few days prior and the full-body aches—the first two days are absolute hell, though it does taper off eventually. I’m not acting like some princess; I don't sit around waiting for someone to brew me tea or bring me meds. I do all that myself, even if there are moments I can barely pull myself out of bed. I don't go around complaining to everyone, but let's be real, sometimes the pain is so intense it's written all over my face. So, I really don't get what John Morris2 is getting at. She makes it sound like we're all just popping pills or rushing to the ER on day one just because we're bored or looking for attention.😕If you haven't lived through it, you just don't know.

Here’s J. g. Levitt talking about it (God, he’s such a legend 😍)

It took me forever to track down a decent copy of this movie. No clue why. Anyway, I’m sticking it right at the top of my very short list of best films from 2011.

Great stuff. Like Natalie mentioned, it’s packed with emotion without ever feeling cheesy, which is honestly pretty rare.

I’m with you. This movie blew me away. Not bored for even a second. The acting was spot on across the board, but J. g. Levitt really stole the show for me.👍

It’s not like they’re committing a felony just because they want to cut ties... seriously... Why all this intense reaction? It’s almost as if we're preparing for some major criminal trial...

In reality, isn't it much healthier to distance yourself from people who end up draining your energy and leaving you feeling empty? Life is far too short to spend it performing or engaging in meaningless friction with others, regardless of how dear they might be to us... it's better for everyone involved... Does anyone actually enjoy staying in those types of relationships? But no, let's insist on staying in a hollow connection just to protect someone else's feelings... which ultimately leads to more hurt in the long run anyway, because people can sense when something is fundamentally off... 🙄

By the way, Sandra Morgan2 gave you the best advice you've heard so far... 😉

I’m not the type to stick around in a relationship if we aren't talking anymore. But look, if that person has always been decent and honest with me, I’m going to return that energy. They earned a face-to-face conversation. I can't just vanish and leave them wondering what the hell happened. I know what it means to have actual integrity, and I’d never end things like that—that’s just not who I am. But hey, everyone has their own way of handling things, I guess. Still, all that stuff about blocking someone on Facebook, deleting contacts, and changing phone numbers? It feels less like cutting off an old friend and more like you're hiding from a mass murderer. 🙄I'm not the one being dramatic here. If anything, I'm the one holding back.🙄
Maybe the OP is just head over heels for this girl and doesn't want to admit it, so they're looking for any excuse to bail. That could totally be what's going on.😁

goldenjackal43 said:Actually, I have dealt with those issues. I’ve been forced to spend time with people I didn't particularly care for for an entire week at a time, sometimes longer. And whenever I realized something wasn't working, I would be direct about it. If we wanted to end a friendship, we would have done it mutually—clear, loud, and spontaneous.

Take a look at these posts. "Honesty hurts me, but damn it, I have to do this; he was a good friend, but I just can't do this anymore. I don't know what's bothering me, but I don't want to be around him, so I'm going to cut all ties with my friend. It hurts me, poor me, but it's for the best..." It's the same story. Some people have character, some are growing, others are developing new traits, changing, and learning. You think you're living out some grand melodrama, but in reality, you've just ghosted someone without ever giving them a reason.

It's that classic "me, myself, and I" syndrome.🙄 People who only care about their own needs. They wake up one day and decide to screw over someone who never did anything wrong, someone who was always there for them, and then they just stop talking to them forever. Let them sit there wondering what happened... gross. Have some guts and say it to their face. This whole thing where people just block you on Facebook? It's a joke.😂😂😂They might even move to a different city and change their identity just so they never have to run into that person again.👍
How to distance yourself from someone in Psychology ·
I actually cut one "friend" out of my life completely—just ghosted her and ended everything. But she wasn't some sweetheart either, nothing like the person the author is describing. She earned it. She let me down more times than I can count, and she knows exactly why I stopped talking to her. If it were someone who hadn't done anything wrong, I could never just ditch them like that and leave them feeling guilty and confused. I wouldn't have the heart for it. With a decent person, I’d sit them down and have a real, face-to-face conversation because they deserve that respect. Otherwise, my conscience would eat me alive. I'm just wired that way...

mistyviper20 said:Look, I’m over the gossip... seriously. Just come visit my neighborhood and you’ll see how everyone thinks they know everything about you, even if you never say a single word about your private life. It’s ridiculous. These people just make stuff up because they think they’re so damn smart, deciding they've "figured out" what's happening in your life and what you're doing, when there isn't even 1% truth to any of it. On top of that, everyone is so closed-minded—just these narrow-minded, self-important small-town types. They can sit there and talk about you for two hours straight, basically narrating your entire life story, despite having absolutely no clue who you actually are.

Tell me about it. It's the same where I live. Everyone wants to know everything. If they don't find out the truth, they just invent their own version. It's ridiculous.

She actually thinks she's acting in her brother's best interest, completely failing to realize he's a grown man with his own mind. It's honestly pathetic. Honestly, the only thing that might help is therapy and some serious self-reflection. I even know a specialist who could help her out. But after everything malicious she's pulled on us, I can't bring myself to send her the number or suggest she goes to counseling. She'd probably listen, too. But I just can't do it. I'd feel like an idiot helping her at this point...

You should probably give her the number anyway, provided you're sure she'll actually show up. Maybe getting things off her chest would help. Just don't bother arguing with her; keep your distance. And whatever you do, never force your boyfriend to choose sides. She's his sister, his blood—we all know how that ends. Good luck.🙂.

Melissa Barnes4 said:Wait, what are you even talking about? Did I ever actually say that everyone without a partner is jealous? No, I didn't. And besides, you're speaking from your own experience—just because you wouldn't be jealous of your brother doesn't mean it's a universal rule. I personally know a woman who is incredibly jealous of her brother, specifically regarding his success in areas where she's struggling (I won't get into the details here). Nobody is making this about you. You wouldn't be, and I certainly wouldn't, but honestly, there are people out there who really are. Plus, she mentioned she was fine with everything until he popped the question... that's why I'm being so blunt about it. Anyway, I'm not going to go back and forth with you on this.

Look, maybe she's jealous, but it could be something else too. It isn't always just jealousy, which is why I phrased it that way. Maybe she just can't stand him for some other reason. Honestly, I don't waste my energy on people like that; I just distance myself and call it a day. People like that never change. But seriously, it looks incredibly toxic for her to be jealous of her own brother. They'd probably realize she's a total freak before they realized anything else.🤷.

Melissa Barnes4 said:From what I can gather, she isn't married and doesn't even have a boyfriend... it sounds like she's just incredibly jealous of your relationship. Seeing you two happy clearly eats at her. It’s actually pretty pathetic when you think about it—being that resentful toward your own brother and his happiness is just tragic.

Right. It feels like everyone who's single is just fueled by pure spite. You can see it in their eyes😲. But look, jealousy isn't just about romance. People get jealous of all sorts of things. Personally, I'm not the jealous type, but if I were, I'd never be jealous of my own people. Who knows what's going on in her head, but being jealous of her own brother? That's a new low. Maybe he just gets under her skin. Or maybe she thinks she isn't good enough for him. She's probably just acting overprotective.

Melissa Barnes4 said:I honestly don't get why people do this. Why is there such a desperate need to drag others down, gossip about their private business, or dissect everything they do? It’s like they find some weird sense of fulfillment in it, acting as if sticking their noses into everyone else's affairs somehow makes them superior or more important than they actually are. It's exhausting to watch.

In my experience, these kinds of people are just fundamentally unhappy. I truly believe that someone who is actually content with their own life wouldn't spend their energy trying to maliciously tear someone else down. If you're genuinely happy, you don't feel the need to meddle in things that have nothing to do with you.
Now, I’m not talking about those trivial comments about what someone chose to wear or other superficial nonsense.

What’s your take on all this?

p.s. I tried searching for a thread on this already, but came up empty.

Look, I'm not exactly a ray of sunshine myself, but I don't get any kicks out of watching people suffer. I know someone who definitely isn't miserable—she has everything she could want—but there's just pure malice in her eyes. She has to know everything, see everything, and every single thing she says is nasty as hell🙄. Honestly, it's best to just stay away from people like that. It honestly sickens me to see how cruel people can be in online comments, let alone in real life. I still remember how much drama Selena caused, and how women went absolutely ballistic and started attacking her over some music video—I can't even remember which one it was. Some people are just straight-up evil. I feel like I'm from another planet sometimes because I just don't care about other people's business; most people probably think I'm weird for that. I just don't get where all this hatred comes from.

That woman is such an inspiration to me, and seeing how she pushes back against all that forced dogma really made me think, but that's beside the point. By the end, I was actually tearing up—just completely shocked by how some people can act.

Same here. That ending was intense.😢 Not that I regret watching it, though. It’s a great film.

Here is a fresh example:

http://abcnews.go.com/US/mcdonalds-b...ry?id=13450499

Some individual who transitioned from a male donkey to a female donkey wanders into the women's restroom, only to be charged by two cows. Meanwhile, the staff at McDonald's just stands there laughing, while one employee films the whole ridiculous scene on their phone.

Disgusting, yet somehow entirely typical.

Morbid😕.Poor woman😢.At least they fired him; he earned it. People have become completely blind to other people's suffering. Watching violence happen and not reporting it? That's a crime. It's like that scene in the field when Thea escaped—everyone was too busy watching what they were doing to her. She could have at least called someone, especially since she was in love with him... but nope, everyone just watches. Some girls were even laughing. I mean, if guys act like that, fine, but girls? ..This is just a movie, but this happens everywhere. It's terrifying how these people sleep at night. If this were real life and an entire classroom stood up against those Bullies—like 25 kids against 2—they'd actually stop. But no, everyone supports them. In the end, I only felt bad for Joseph and Casper. You just can't feel sorry for scum like that.👎

Lisa Davis46 said:Fine, maybe that was the goal. If so, then the movie worked for me.
Still, I think the ending is serious enough. It totally fits the vibe of the rest of the film and it definitely isn't some cheesy Hollywood bullshit. Isn't it possible the ending just hammers home the message? Like, violence only breeds more violence, and you have to find a way to stop it at the root before it just keeps repeating itself?

Exactly. Look, violence isn't the answer, obviously, but what they did to them? That scene on the beach was unhinged. And Thea—man, she’s unbelievable. Instead of being proud to be with a guy who actually has the guts to stand up for someone, she acts like... well, you saw her. Bullies were dead, two girls were gone—one by accident, the other shot by Joseph—and she was just sitting there on that beach looking totally satisfied while they were forcing Casper to grovel to that guy. It really showed her true colors. She was smiling. What a piece of work. At the end of the day, if you haven't dealt with bullying firsthand, you can't possibly get it. I have. Bullies are a cancer on society, and it feels like nobody will stand up to them, or they just don't want to deal with the headache. Even at the start of the movie, when they jump Joseph, it's filmed so clinically, and nothing happens. If he had fought back, he would’ve been the villain. That’s how it always goes—the victim ends up taking the blame. That entire class was toxic. Out of maybe thirty kids, all thirty of them were just watching with these smug looks like this is totally normal behavior. Especially the girls. Where is their moral compass? They're "brave" enough to take on one person 30-to-1. Pathetic. Personally, I thought it was a great movie. It nails the reality of bullying: the bullies, the victims, and the audience that just sits there and watches without doing a damn thing.

I don't even know where to start with this one. Honestly, I’m just sitting here staring at my screen, trying to process how we even got to this point. It’s exhausting. Everything feels like a mess lately, and I’m just over it. Just one thing after another, and frankly, I’m tired of pretending it’s fine. It isn't. kaže:
Exactly. And don't even get me started on that scene where the airhead attacks Casper just because he stood up for him—as if her being loved more than her is such a huge deal. 🤮 What an entitled, heartless bitch. Please.
I’m not gonna lie, there were a few times during that movie where I actually felt nauseous. Seriously. She was being extra. At the end of the day, I didn't even feel bad for them (except maybe for that one girl who just happened to be standing right in front of all that chaos). They're just a bunch of losers. And honestly, coming from me, that’s a compliment. I've seen my fair share of nonsense—most of us have—but nothing even comes close to this. Nothing even touches how out of control they were. Everyone. It’s like this whole crowd of snobs just showed up, and nobody even blinked. Not one person had the guts to speak up or even show a hint of disapproval. Just total silence while they acted like that. 🙄 Absolute nightmare.

I’m with you on that. But honestly, it feels like nobody even cares...😢

gentlefalcon said:Believe me, they’re giving me more information than I could ever possibly need. 😁 I wouldn't go so far as to call myself an atheist. It’s not that I have some deep-seated ideological grudge against religion; honestly, I’m just too lazy to deal with all that ritualistic baggage. I never find myself cursing God, unlike certain people who make a show of attending Mass every single Sunday just to prove how pious they are. For me, it’s simpler than that—I just can't be bothered to show up.

Take my mom, for instance. She’s absolutely sucked into shows like Big Brother, The Farm, or those trashy segments in In Magazine—it's basically a masterclass in how to strip away every ounce of civilization. When I call her out on it and suggest she should probably steer clear of that nonsense, regardless of what the Catholic Youth might say about it, she just gives me this look and says, "Who, me? I'm not watching for fun! I'm just sitting here observing how incredibly clueless everyone is."

She’s constantly tearing into those Villains and that whole Good Night show, especially after catching Bozanica in a swimsuit applying tanning lotion to Renata Sopek.

This is honestly disgusting👎. My mom acts like this big believer, yet she watches Big Brother and rants about how Marijana is such a BB drolja. I don't care what she watches, but she always has something to say, even though our faith is supposed to forbid judging others. And she does it constantly.🙄 Real Christian behavior there.🙄 The hypocrisy is insane, not to mention all the prejudice. She used to lecture me about going to church all the time, but the worst part is that when she actually comes home from service, she's all worked up instead of being peaceful and relaxed...

It actually could’ve been a decent movie. I had "Memento" sitting on my hard drive for two months because I was too busy bingeing Twilight instead. But honestly, his performance there was fine, and the movie itself wasn't bad.🙂He's a solid actor, though..
