Album of the week in Music ·
It always takes one full day—basically, the whole Friday... 🙂 And look, obviously you can't get through every single album properly, which is why we have people who actually make the final cut. My advice? Just listen to a track or two from the suggestions to see if they're worth voting for.

Of course, it’s totally fine if you want to binge the whole thing! Everyone's got their own way of doing things... 😁

For me, Rundek is just as incredible in Haustor as he is with his solo stuff or Cargo Triu. It’s just different phases of his creative journey...

To me, it sounds just like Joy Division meets The Cure 😁

Ashley Grant66 said:Amanda Robinson4, I just knew Isabelle would come up eventually! This is straight from the heart... fingers crossed for them! 🎉😍

I’ve been saving these for spring, so hopefully the weather gets as beautiful as they sound... perfect for listening! 😁

Things are looking a little thin this week. We’re still waiting on one of last week's winners 😛

But honestly, I’d love to just keep things moving with a little retrospective vibe instead.

Dennis Hall41 said:So, are we finally gonna kick off a thread for The Fallu?

Oh, absolutely.
Album of the week in Music ·
Quick heads-up: Since accident cast his vote right before getting the PDF portion he requested himself, we’ve decided to disqualify him (he only voted for The Fall anyway)... plus, he can't really participate or even wants to at this point!

The Fall is definitely getting its theme, but right now it's actually tied with two other albums: one from R.E.M. and one by Tomaž Pengov.

Divna is actually pretty great. I first heard her in this ridiculous video where they decided she’d be the perfect soundtrack. 😁

It’s easy! Let’s just announce ahead of time that everyone should shoot their suggestions over to one of us via DM... and then we’ll get them all posted on the thread.

Ashley Grant66 said:Generation Z, it's the exact same vibe. 🤣 I actually felt that pop music breakthrough even more when I was in high school. Those bus trips where everyone would belt out Britney Spears' "Nicotine" or some fancy champagne hits, lol. Like, those little lite-pop moments...

Oh man, that champagne stuff was huge right at the end of middle school. 😵

We heard it in high school too, of course, but luckily my class was a bit more selective—most of us were heading to punk and metal shows instead. It was such a great time, honestly, can't complain one bit!

And hey, that's a fun idea for anonymous posts, we should totally do a round of those...👍

Grašo is basically the biggest pop star in the country right now, hands down. There's a reason he's teaming up with Zlatko Dalić to front those Kellogg's commercials. The guy is totally scandal-free—no drama, no mess, just clean vibes. But honestly? Musically... he feels like a total lightweight compared to Oliver. 🙂

Anyway, since we're talking about Grašo, it's actually perfect timing because this just dropped 😁

Man, oh man... night owls, I totally passed out before the game even wrapped up. I was just wiped out. 😛 (Though, looking at the score this morning, it seems like I didn't miss a thing...)

Dennis Hall41 said:Man, I honestly thought that trend only hit its peak in the last decade or so. Around my place, nobody was really listening to that kind of stuff back then.

Either everything is lagging in your neck of the woods, or you were hanging out with the right crowd! 😁 I was only in sixth grade when Ozzy Osbourne dropped that duet called "thief" and absolutely drove my whole generation crazy, and then a different group of friends introduced me to Six Pack, and after that, nothing was ever the same. 😁

Before all that, I used to brag about having every single Bob Dylan album in my house. ☕

And as for all the forum drama and conspiracies that ended up messing with your (if it's even just your ☕) mental state, I've got some perfect lines for that 🙂

Check this out:

When anger boils over online
And seeks out a fight;
You just need to unplug
And read a book tonight.

(Matt Haig, Notes on a Nervous Planet)

There, hope that settles everyone down a bit!

Where have you been hiding, Jessica Morris6? 🙏 I actually used to have that on cassette! I’d lug it around to tea parties just so we could blast it on the last day of second grade... 😁 Back then, besides stuff like Petar Grašo, we were all obsessed with Colonia, that cheesy dance music, and obviously the Macarena 🙏

I started getting hit with those nostalgic vibes way back in sixth grade once I discovered punk... while everyone else in class was slowly drifting toward that generic country-pop stuff ☕

Oh, it definitely happens! We’ve had people chime in here before who didn't even make the final cut, especially those regulars that everyone recognizes on the forums. The whole "Album of the Week" thing isn't meant to be some intense competition or anything... it's more like a way to make sure we actually dive into whatever gets the most votes the following week. Usually, anyone can just start their own thread for a specific album—just don't use that red prefix, which isn't really our style on this PDF anyway. That’s why we have the Album of the Week thing... it just keeps us all doing something together!

I put your post right here, man! It’d be such a shame if it just got lost in the Madness of this chat thread... 😁 I'll take a closer look at it a bit later, but I just gave it a quick listen now. The sound quality is actually pretty solid, even if the camera work isn't quite up to par, but hey, you can still make out all the important stuff. 👍

analogbear40 said:I was just about to suggest something purely for my own sake, but honestly, I knew there was zero chance once I saw Black Star on the list... and don't even get me started on Sgt. Pepper... 😁

David Bowie was suggested once before and it didn't fly, and I'm not even sure if The Beatles have been brought up yet. So hey, at least someone finally had the guts to go for it! 😁

Still doesn't mean much though, because you know as well as I do that just being famous doesn't guarantee anything gets picked.

brightwolf48 said:If you aren't seeing it, then I don't really have anything else to say, especially considering how much everyone’s been posting in this section of the subforum lately. What am I supposed to do, force you or Amanda Robinson to get a passing grade? We already agreed to put the petty stuff aside...😁

To be totally honest, it kind of bugs me too that way more people jump in to suggest albums than actually bother commenting once the threads finally go live.

And yeah, I’ve noticed our activity levels just swing wildly from week to week, depending on the album. Obviously, the biggest debates happen when opinions are split, but I also think the quality of the content matters—from the intro itself to those other posts that actually provoke me enough to chime in...

Speaking of Album of the Week, I’ve listened to Mazzy Star a few times now and I’m digging it, but man, I just haven't had the headspace to write anything meaningful about it. But hey, that's why we keep the threads open! Anyone can jump back in whenever they feel like it.

I haven't even finished the second album yet. So much has been going on this week... it's not even related to this gorgeous weather, which is honestly a shame because spending it all on the internet feels like a waste. It's just one of those things where nobody's online right when the weather turns beautiful... 😁

So, my advice? Just hang tight for a bit before we hand out any grades. I'm sure there are plenty of reasons why things are a little quieter this week than usual. 🙂
