Elizabeth Collins5 said:I suppose it’s my turn to share my experience. I spent about ten years debating whether to go through with surgery. Now that it's behind me, I actually regret waiting so long. It finally freed me from a massive complex...
Unlike some people on this forum, I genuinely needed the procedure (not that anyone else's need isn't valid)
.
It wasn't until the consultation that I realized I needed more than just a cosmetic fix. I had a deviated septum and cartilage that had shifted to the right, making my right nostril significantly smaller. I just assumed that was normal 😂.
My only real fear before the surgery was the idea of waking up mid-procedure—a fear I picked up from reading this thread, haha
. The surgery itself was a bit tougher than expected, but otherwise went smoothly. Aside from the IV puncture
, there wasn't much pain. However, recovery wasn't exactly a walk in the park for me like it was for some of you. I struggled with the anesthesia and vomited blood twice, though I managed to eat some ground beef patties immediately after😂. My bruising lasted longer than average—about 20 days. Even now, there's a hint of yellowing where the bruises were. I dealt with low blood pressure and a dizzy sensation that lingered for about 15 days. Around day 20, one stitch became inflamed, and my face—especially my forehead—swelled up. Usually, I don't have issues with swelling. And the tampon removal? I didn't have much luck there. It was incredibly sharp, intense pain, though thankfully brief. Breathing through my mouth wasn't an issue. The hardest part of the whole recovery was sleeping on my back, as that's just not how I sleep
. As for the results, I'd say I'm about 80% satisfied. I'm hoping that remaining 20% comes with time. Even though it's been over a month, my nose is still quite swollen, and I feel like I'm healing slower than most. I asked the surgeon for three specific things: that the nose wouldn't look too small (like B. Vlašić's), that it wouldn't be overly upturned (again, like B. Vlašić), and that it wouldn't look too "saddle-shaped." I think the doctor respected those wishes
. Regarding the surgical team, I have nothing but praise, so they get my full recommendation 👍. Oh, and I almost forgot—I had the procedure done by Dr. Glušac in Makarska
. All in all, considering the minor setbacks during recovery, if you ask me if I'd do it again, the answer is an absolute yes 😁.

I'll send photos via private message. If anyone has questions, feel free to ask 😉.

Pretty much the same for me, except the bruising made it look like I'd been in a two-day brawl.😢😲😂I can laugh about it now, but it wasn't funny at the time. Well, it's over and done with. Thank God.🙂🙂
Elizabeth Collins5 said:I actually envy how fast you're recovering 😉. It sounds grim, but I could barely manage to wash my hair until a week had passed, and even then, I needed help from my mother 😁. I was terrified of messing up the flaps and having them peel off... God forbid. I couldn't even bend over because of the blood pressure and this strange sensation in my head.

Same here. Every time I lean forward, I get hit with nausea and this freakish, stabbing sensation right up in my nose. It's unsettling...😲 😢 😂
rustygardener172 said:Not really, not really... just kidding. I like what I have, and they serve me well enough... 😁 If I have a kid and end up putting on too much weight... then I'll deal with that when it happens... 😁

I didn't bother setting it up properly beforehand, and now I've gone and screwed it up...👎Does anyone know if mine might actually firm up? My sister’s breasts grew and filled out beautifully after she finished breastfeeding, even though she used to be completely flat... maybe there's hope for me too...🙏😍
Kate Taylor59 said:I've been looking back through your posts... and I have to wonder; did all your friends undergo surgery at once or something? 😂
One got a facelift, another went for breast augmentation, a third had work done on her nose...

I used to work a public-facing job for a while where you’d run into plenty of "celebrities." I put that word in quotes intentionally, because most of those people didn't even have a dime to their name...😂😂😂😂
stormyharbor2 said:😳 I washed my hair twice in those first few days. Couldn't you just do it in the shower?🤷

I leaned over and this sharp pain just gripped the top of my nose. Nothing on the bottom. I just thought, "fuck it,"🙄 it’s not going to fall out. I shampooed twice during those first couple of weeks until I felt better, and there was no damage at all—and my hair is crazy long...😛😁
rustygardener172 said:Not even worth the effort... though 🙂 maybe hahahahahaha

I doubt they actually care about the cost. It’s just those isolated monsters parading around. I don't get the point when everyone knows it isn't yours. It was particularly stupid to do it right before giving birth, like my ex did. Her skin stretched and everything just sagged completely🤮, honestly pathetic😢. And she wasn't even breastfeeding. Imagine if she had been. Not to mention how her husband, mother-in-law, and friends all looked down on her because of it.
Kate Taylor59 said:😲 So, you’ve been breathing through your mouth this entire time?... 👎👎👎

The swab was taken tomorrow, just like everyone else at these private clinics...

What else is there to do? It's not like you can just apply it to your belly button or your ears...🤣Hang in there, dear. You don't have much of a choice... I remember waking up in the middle of the night with a throat so dry it felt like sandpaper, and there was absolutely nothing to drink. Just constant trips to the bathroom that kept waking me back up. It was infuriating... damn flu. Now, looking back, the memories are just hitting me. It’s almost funny now...😛😁Back then, things were different. I’ve already stripped away everything alive inside me...🤣🙄
rustygardener172 said:Two days?! No way. The only way that makes sense is if she kept a tampon in for five days and then finally let it go two days after taking it out... but even then, we’re talking seven days, not two. You realistically need about ten days... maybe even a week or two... jadeddriver0 even says it could take three weeks...

Who knows... maybe she'll be fine the second they wake her up. I spent almost three days there just dozing on and off. I was only actually awake when it was time to eat or take care of business... that's about it...🙄😁I wasn't exactly thrilled about Niş, and now another detail just crossed my mind. I hadn't washed my hair in four weeks. About a week after the surgery, when I finally lost my hair, I tried to wet it, but the dizziness hit me so hard I just told myself, "fuck off." My hair can wait another few weeks...🙄🤣
rustygardener172 said:Where are you from, if you don't mind me asking? 😁 I saw you mentioned staying in an apartment.
When do people go in for drain removal? Is it too late for me to go now, four months after surgery? I'm just so swollen that I can't manage the massage myself... I try to squeeze it for a minute or two every few days, but it's hardly enough...

Well, Glumičić has recovery rooms right under the clinic for patients. I stayed there for three days because I didn't want to head home until they removed the tampons. Don't take this the wrong way—I'm not judging anyone—but in my opinion, it's irresponsible to rush home immediately. If you could set aside time for the surgery, you can set aside time for this... As for the drains, I believe that happens once the mold is removed... at least, that's how it worked for me.🤷And I wouldn't say it's too late. It takes a full year for the nipple to settle anyway, so you might as well go...😉
Kate Taylor59 said:Three days? That seems excessive... One girl told me it only took two...

Maybe you'll be ready to head to your favorite coffee shop for a latte just an hour after surgery... though that really depends on the individual. Everyone handles it differently...😉Lottery. What a joke. I finally gave in and bought a ticket...🤣
rustygardener172 said:jadedriver0... have you ever considered that fixing a slightly imperfect nose is much simpler than trying to reconstruct a massive, crooked, or hooked one? Perhaps life is just punishing you with this postoperative pain because you were too arrogant and decided to go under the knife when your nose was already decent enough. Hahaha, please don't take that personally... 😁 There are countless women out there who would endure your level of pain five times over just to finally fix a nose that causes breathing issues or is genuinely unsightly.
P.S. I read every single post very carefully...

A bit more.🙄😛😁And there's no use crying over spilled milk, right?😁But I wouldn't do it again. No thanks.🤣
Kate Taylor59 said:How long does it take for you to recover? It’s killing me... especially this throat issue...🙄

I can't quite recall the exact date, but it was roughly three weeks ago... I was already losing my mind by then...😠🙄I have to admit, my sisters Daria and Lana were actually quite helpful...👍I'm not sure if they're still staying with Glumičić... and of course, there was that lady in the apartment right below the clinic who looked after me. She used to cook up vegetable soups and stews for me; honestly, her cooking is what kept me going...🙏
rustygardener172 said:I know exactly what you mean... she has those same imperfections too😢 Though when I massage it regularly, the indentation isn't nearly as deep. My partner keeps bringing it up; he actually preferred my flatter profile from before... He’s constantly massaging it because he’s just not interested in how it looks now😁
Hopefully the indentation will smooth out once the swelling at the tip finally subsides... because right now, it hasn't...
🙂

Did you try lymphatic drainage for your nose and face after the surgery?👍, Glumičić recommended it to me. I went through with it specifically to prevent any indentations or bumps from forming...👍
Since quite a few women have been sliding into my DMs, I’ll just put this here for everyone to see. If a surgeon comes across as rude, or if you simply feel like they aren't taking you seriously, don't let them touch you with a scalpel. Just wait. Find someone who actually respects you and values what you want... I was incredibly blunt with Glumičić. I literally wrote down my demands on paper and drew exactly what I wanted. I was direct, sharp, and stood my ground, and he respected every bit of it. I made it clear from the start: if you can't or won't do exactly what I'm asking, tell me now so I can move on. There is no room for playing games with these people.🙄😁
casualcanyon14 said:A friend of mine had nose surgery. The result looks lovely, but I have to tell you how miserable she was in the month following the procedure.
She had an allergic reaction to the nasal splint they used—I don't know what the technical term is—and it was horrific. She could barely endure it until they finally removed it after six days. Then, for a month or two, recovery was a nightmare. No one even cared about how the nose looked because her face was a disaster... just covered in scabs, looking like acid burns.
Anything can happen, so I think people need to be prepared for potential complications.
It looks great now, but she says she would never do it again. The uncertainty of whether the skin will heal properly or leave permanent scarring is too much...

That’s exactly my point. Personally, I actually liked my nose, but I can't remember if I already mentioned this. For weeks after the surgery, I couldn't even breathe. I was in so much pain that I didn't give a damn about how my nose looked. Honestly, I was just furious at myself for ever agreeing to go through with this mess.😠...I wouldn't do it again, even if I had the money.😢,And even if I did, I'd be stuck with my old nose plus a new bump on top of it. No thanks. Just forget it...🙄
rustygardener172 said:I knew you were building on what I said. Though... I didn't even mention you in my post. Truth be told, you weren't even on my mind while I was writing it. We've been messaging since the very beginning, and I can't see any reason why I would go out of my way to insult you. You've already admitted to being a perfectionist yourself... and since perfection doesn't exist, I imagine that makes life quite difficult... 😉 Just kidding, of course...
And of course, I’m not suggesting that women who have been sidelined should just be happy with whatever they get. No one here thinks that, I'm certain of it. You really ought to have read the post more closely... I simply meant there are women who seek out a surgeon to fix SOMETHING, only to find themselves dissatisfied with a different issue once the procedure is done. In my view... to It’s just not right...
It is an exhausting ordeal when you sit down with a surgeon to request a specific, upturned look, reach an agreement on exactly what that means, and then wake up from anesthesia only to find yourself with a completely flat nose instead. It’s simply unacceptable for a surgeon to... It's a lie... He’ll look at your face and decide right then and there that he won't follow through. He knows he can't pull it off because it just doesn't fit your persona... or whatever excuse he needs to make. It's fundamentally wrong to pay someone just to be lied to. And honestly, those girls have every right to be pissed about the end result. They were sold a lie...

I should also mention... jadedriver0I don't quite grasp why you felt the need to charge into this forum so aggressively. We all realize that everyone’s experience is different, and you have every right to say yours was painful. But you also have to understand that for most of us here, the recovery process... well, I wouldn't want to misinterpret that if I were talking to Sophia Hill22... 😁 It didn't hurt at all...
And you immediately started rambling about all those negative experiences and dissatisfactions regarding nasal implants after surgery...
Why all this negativity? You actually had the surgery, and you’re happy with how it turned out. It would have been much more natural to just share your experience and help others who are prepping for their own procedures. That is the whole point of this thread. You should have detailed what the operation was like, how the recovery pain felt, and how satisfied you are with your new nose. Honestly... tell us, was it worth it? Did seeing the final result make you forget about the pain of recovery? Was it worth the cost...
I am here to discuss the actual treatment, not engage in petty bickering or arguments with other users. I have no interest in hearsay or secondhand accounts... nobody can speak on behalf of someone else...

You clearly haven't read my previous posts. I already stated that I am more than satisfied with my carrier...🙂Recovery was brutal. If I had known it would be this grueling, I wouldn't have gone through with it. My nose wasn't even bad before; I just wanted it flatter, without those indentations... Did I forget about the pain once they removed the splint? Not for a second. Not until the swelling and bruising finally subsided. My surgeon told me that some people just have a harder time recovering than others, so apparently, I'm not an outlier in that regard. Was it worth it? Everyone tells me my nose looks great now—it's cute, petite—but honestly, my old one wasn't ugly either. Now I find myself wondering if all that money and agony were actually necessary. I was only twenty-two at the time, thinking this one procedure would somehow transform my entire life. Yeah, right...😛😁Everything remains unchanged...🤣Look, rustygardener172, I’ve already softened the edges and made it sound nicer than it actually was. Personally, I prefer just being blunt and direct... I don't have the patience for beating around the bush. I wish someone had just been honest with me back then so I could have actually prepared myself mentally.😉
Kate Taylor59 said:Listen, ladies, please stop fighting over this... at the end of the day, you just have to be prepared for anything. Stay calm and don't dwell on some massive catastrophe, because nothing is truly tragic until it actually becomes serious... if so many people have made it through, I suppose we will too... and honestly, if it's just a minor cough, I wouldn't worry... but then again, everything depends on the situation...
Anyway, that's more or less my take on it🙂

If I were heading out right now, I'd focus on boosting my immunity with honey and fruit👍, but that wasn't really my point. I was thinking about how much easier it would be if I could just focus my mind on getting a better nose shape instead.😛😁🤣
Sophia Hill22 said:Oh, you're just so wonderful... 😍

Go ahead, keep trying to scare people... 👍👍

"There is nothing to fear—one simply needs to be prepared."
When someone truly intends to act, focusing their thoughts and emotions toward a specific goal will eventually make it a reality.👍 👍
Sophia Hill22 said:I see... understood. 😉

That was the reality for me, my best friend, and my future maid of honor. These are three raw experiences, told straight and honest without any sugarcoating. If you aren't interested in the truth, then stick to reading the glowing reviews...🤣Don't speak for me. Only I know what it was actually like...👎
Sophia Hill22 said:Just read the whole thread if you want to find out...👋

What would I be reading? I already got the info I needed via private message regarding getting the nose I actually wanted...
I shouldn't have even bothered asking you. Clearly, you don't know how to properly share information or experiences with others... you just enjoy talking over people.🙂👍👎
