Best way to swallow pills? in Health ·
Shove the tablet in your mouth, grab a glass of water with one hand to wash it down, and use your other hand to yank on the skin of your neck forward a few times. It’s gotta work.
How much resistance is too much? in Health ·
It’s funny how people are just wired to be critics. You’re making a huge mistake if you assume a doctor doesn't know what they're doing. R. nažalost, treating a resistant strain of bacteria is a nightmare. But honestly, maybe start by looking inward instead of hunting for someone else to blame. How much do you actually know about your own health? Are you staying hydrated? What’s your hygiene like? Even things like your personal life can play a role. Try taking some actual responsibility for once. Sure, now you've got a date with a urologist, but don't expect them to wave a magic wand and fix everything.
Drug test help, any advice? in Health ·
So you brought someone else's urine home? That’s an old-school junkie trick right there. Maybe you should try doing it again, just with a little more self-control next time?
Joshua Murphy7 said:GUYS, HAS ANYONE HEARD OF OR ACTUALLY TRIED THIS WHOLE LASER BODY SCANNING THING?

SUPPOSEDLY THERE ARE TWO PRIVATE CLINICS IN WASHINGTON, D.C. DOING THIS—ONE OVER IN THE MIDTOWN AREA AND ANOTHER OFF THE MAIN BOULEVARD.

I HEARD IT GIVES YOU A REALLY SATISFYING LOOK AT YOUR INTERNAL ORGANS AND CAN EVEN PROVIDE A DIAGNOSIS.

LET ME KNOW.

Oh, wonderful. Just hand over $100 for a "diagnosis." Lucky us. (Especially if we have money to just throw straight into the trash). 😁
Sinus CT scan results - what to expect? in Health ·
Could we be looking at an allergic reaction here? Have you tried taking some antihistamines yet?

Just a mild case of sinus inflammation.
Bonviv review: Is it actually worth it? in Health ·
It’s great to see someone actually trusting their doctor—honestly, if you’ve got that kind of rapport, half the battle is already won. I doubt any decent physician would just sit by and let a patient suffer through side effects like that without intervening. They just need to realize there are actual alternatives out there. Maybe it's worth looking into something like Evista tablets or some other medication entirely. And honestly, if we're just talking about osteopenia, maybe skipping the meds altogether isn't even necessary right now. 🙂

Retirement. That sweet, elusive dream we all keep chasing while staring at our bank accounts and wondering if we'll actually make it to the finish line. kaže:
I had no idea injections were even an option. Honestly, that would have been a much better move. If I'd known back then, I wouldn't be dealing with this mess now. I’m just sitting here staring at this mess, wondering when things actually started going downhill. It feels like we’re constantly spinning our wheels, running in circles while everyone else seems to be moving forward. Honestly, I’m exhausted just thinking about it. It used to happen every four months like clockwork.
I have to admit, I’m actually feeling a bit better today. Kept lunch light, the temperature is manageable, and those pains have finally dialed back significantly.
I think I’ve officially run out of patience.
Still haven't decided if I'm going to start on a new round of Actonel in early January.☕

I haven’t heard of anyone having such a violent reaction to Bonviv before. Maybe it was some weird interaction with other meds? Either way, I wouldn't just sit there and take it—I'd be looking for a different osteoporosis treatment immediately. There are plenty of options out there that don't come with side effects like this.😉
Stomach issues or something else? in Health ·
Look, you aren't getting a real diagnosis without a gastroscopy and an ultrasound. Before you jump to all that, maybe just try managing it yourself for a week first. If things keep repeating, then go see a doctor and get the tests done. As for the chocolate, you should probably just hand that over to me instead.
Stomach issues or something else? in Health ·
It’s probably just your stomach acting up. I’d say try some Gastall (or whatever you have in the medicine cabinet) and maybe some Pepto-Bismol. Whatever you do, stay away from chocolate for a bit. 🙂 If this keeps dragging on for more than two or three weeks, you’re basically looking at getting some tests done—there isn't much of a choice there. Fingers crossed you don't actually need them, though. Keep me posted. 😉
unknown in Health ·
Jesse Palmer6 said:I’m starting this thread because I wasn't quite sure where else to post this... so, here goes. I just started taking unknown, and since I was on that other antibiotic right before this, I feel absolutely terrible—mostly constant nausea and this really strange, lingering taste in my mouth. I did some reading online suggesting that side effects like stomach pain or diarrhea are possible, though they're supposedly supposed to be mild... so, if anyone else has been through this or has any insight, I'd love to hear it.
It feels like everything is hitting at once—my digestion is a mess and my sinuses are acting up, too. Thanks!

Look, unless you're dealing with severe diarrhea or you can't stop vomiting, just keep taking it. Don't sweat it.🙂
My heel is killing me!!!! in Health ·
It usually boils down to two things: you’re either dealing with a classic heel spur, or that pain in your foot is actually just radiating down from your lower back.

The first one sounds like some political party... the second one is just a keyboard key... and the third one sounds like a beat-up diesel truck!
Just kidding, obviously... I actually read everything you guys posted... but while I'm at it, I have a few questions if anyone out there knows the deal:
- So, I went in for bloodwork the other day and the results came back more or less like this: everything looks fine except, of course, my cholesterol, which is sitting at 6.2 (though I'm suspicious because two years ago the upper limit was 6, and I'm convinced those big pharma companies lobbied to drop it to 5 just so they could push more pills on us)... naturally, my triglycerides are at 2.9 (when they really should be under 1.9), and then we get to the liver enzymes. Out of the three, my AST and GGT are totally normal—right in the middle of the healthy range—but my ALT is 51, whereas "normal" is supposed to be anything under 44.
So now I’m asking all you students, ceramicists, auto painters, doctors, and experts... does this slight bump in ALT (if you can even call it high) have anything to do with the fact that I've got way too much fat clogging up my veins?
And one more thing—should I expect my doctor to look me in the eye and say, "YOU NEED TO GO ON A DIET"?
In case age matters, I'm exactly 30.
Oh, and another thing... I'm scrolling through the internet and I see the upper limit for ALT listed as 48 in some places and 44 in others... why can't they ever agree on anything?

Were you taking any medications? And yeah, you definitely need to go on a diet, you know that already. 🙂
An enlarged heart (maybe just slightly swollen?) triggered by long-term high blood pressure.
Heart attack?!? in Health ·
Sounds like you're dealing with some serious pain from your thoracic spine. How much are you actually moving around or hitting the gym these days?
ESWL isn't going to spike his diabetes risk—at most, it’s just some temporary stress, which happens with everything. But look, you probably already know the deal: kidney stones have a nasty habit of coming back. Wouldn't it be better to just let him get it over with before the stones decide to take him out instead? Of course, he'd still need to stay on top of things with regular ultrasounds every six months. 🙂
