If you want my honest take—the reason is simply that it’s been a long time since you were a member anyone could actually have a decent conversation with about music. Back then, we could joke around and learn something new; lately, you've devolved into this constant trolling, which has become incredibly grating. People don't need to agree on everything—we certainly don't all have to like the same things—but when you realize someone isn't just some amateur, but actually knows more about a subject than you do, you should be able to soften your stance a bit, listen, and maybe even learn something.

I still remember that debate about the "on malo snijeg" album—I think it was Konoyo or someone like that who posted a few drone albums. Some were absolute garbage to me, sure, but others were eye-opening because he actually took the time to explain things we weren't familiar with to me and everyone else.

I get it, there isn't much left to say about "rock" or "pop" music; there aren't many great new bands coming out anymore. But even then, you could try being more like Androlog or Baribb. Their tastes don't align with mine, nor do they align with most people here, but instead of turning to trolling, they try to share their perspective on musical evolution and their own sensibilities in a way that is actually coherent and normal. It's similar to how Gareton operates at the other end of the spectrum; none of those guys ever get flak from the community, let alone actual criticism—if anything, people quietly click the links they post.

I don't see the point of your trolling, especially since it doesn't even land on the main boards. It's not even funny anymore like it used to be (I remember Limun's brilliant joke when he coldly wrote, "these are all the user suggestions for the album of the week"). Just to set the record straight on one thing: I requested a partial ban regarding the music section, and I did so entirely on my own terms. At the time of that request, I didn't have a single active strike against me on this subforum. So, when my partial ban was applied, the moderator actually had the nerve to act as if she were doing me a favor during my very first post back. It makes me wonder—why would anyone even need a partial ban on a subforum if they haven't asked for one and have zero disciplinary marks on their record?

Taylor Swift and Jimmy Buffett are completely out of their depth here. Someone else needs to breathe some life into this subforum—specifically the sections that don't involve trolling—because outside of that, the content is actually decent.

First off, they killed the "Album of the Week" thread just because it went stale—and why did it go stale? Because the mods, for God's sake, kept forgetting to launch the new threads on time. When I pointed out how ridiculous it was to let threads lapse like that, Vanchaa basically brushed me off, claiming it doesn't matter when they're posted as long as there’s some semblance of "quality in the opening."

Whatever. Fast forward to today: after a couple of negative comments were made regarding the moderation and the general direction of the music section, all my posts were wiped from the "Song of the Day" thread—along with everything from user kvart99—right after Fassgohard chimed in suggesting I should be permabanned.

So, I’m asking a direct question here: is the main music subforum reserved exclusively for a handful of users who get to act superior because they’re buddies with the mods, or is there actually any desire to keep this place alive? We have people posting via burner accounts just to bypass bans, yet the moment anyone brings up a controversial topic, their entire post history is scrubbed. Vanchaa and Puky are clearly unfit to moderate this section; they're too busy playing favorites with certain users to actually enforce any real rules—they just blow smoke for their inner circle.

If the whole point of the music subforum and its various threads is just to provide a platform for the moderator to write her little essays, then fine—just rename them "My Personal Essay on the Song of the Day." There are plenty of us older users who still want to talk about music, but we don't stand a chance. It’s pathetic that even Mr. Wrong rarely visits this subforum anymore—probably because his bluntness and expertise would earn him a ban in a heartbeat. Honestly, just make Mr. Wrong a moderator and maybe things might finally settle down. Peace.

To add to that: back when "Album of the Week" was actually working as a place to suggest rock or pop albums, a fellow user and moderator spent an entire year messing with everyone by posting nothing but "country twang" tracks. We all took it as a joke—which I assume was the intent—but the second you say something the mods don't like, everything is deleted without a trace. For nearly a year, I’ve been looking for a specific part of a PDF from those threads, and even without being under a ban, I can't find anything. So, I’ll ask again: do you want the music subforum to have actual discussants, or is it just meant to cater to the whims of the moderators and their cronies?
