I’ve got some seriously mixed feelings about this series—honestly, I don't even know if I'd call it funny! But somehow, despite that, I still found myself powering through the entire season in one go. It was just one of those "binge it anyway" situations, I guess!

If any of you are big fans of antiquity and the Romans, I really recommend checking out the series Barbarians. It’s an American production—though they have the actors speaking German and Latin to keep things authentic. The costume design is top-notch and the overall atmosphere is just spot on.
History buffs ended up dragging the total rating down a bit because of some rather childish criticisms, though. 🤦

Honestly, the way they use that version of Latin mixed with modern German is probably the absolute best thing about the show—it’s just such a cool, unique touch you don't run into every day! Everything else? Well, let's just say it's pretty middle-of-the-road for a series like this.

Exactly, and that’s honestly the biggest win here. It’s even better because the show managed to step away from that typical Anglo-centric perspective—for years, there was this annoying trend where they'd portray the Romans acting like they were part of the British aristocracy. It was seriously grating.
The series might not be some earth-shattering masterpiece, but it finally puts the Roman era back in the spotlight. It feels like we haven't seen a decent movie or series focusing on the Romans and their rivals in ages.
