The Patriots. I’ve always had a soft spot for Boston as a city—that whole vibe with the connection to Europe, Ireland, and the Dropkick Murphys, all that good stuff. It’s funny, though, because when I first started following the NBA, I couldn't stand rooting for the Celtics since their fans were such an irritating crowd back in the day, but lately, I've actually been warming up to them quite a bit.

Seahawks, just like my handle says. I'm with Seattle, even though they’ve been a total mess of a franchise historically. But I’ve been following them for over a decade now, so...

As for the Patriots, I can't stand mediocre teams, and there’s a little something about them being from Boston.

But the biggest reason is obviously Brady. To me, it's one of the most beautiful sports stories ever told. Taken as the 199th pick in the draft with zero hype, he turned around and became the GOAT. And let’s not forget he’s a cool guy, a total clutch player, and has his own way of being a bit of a joker.

I started following the NFL in 2014. It was totally accidental—I just happened to flip the channel one day and caught a game, I think it was the 49ers. I ended up liking it, kept watching, and slowly fell in love with the sport. Honestly, the commentators helped a lot too. At first, I had no clue who any of these teams were, so I gave myself some time to figure out which one to root for. I knew right away it wouldn't be the Seahawks; Pete Carroll really got on my nerves with all that constant chewing, plus they were always on TV and it always looked like nothing but fog and rain over there. After watching Super Bowl 48, I found myself unexpectedly feeling for the losing side (I know, usually it's the other way around)😁 I felt terrible for the Broncos because they got absolutely hammered, especially since everyone was banking on Peyton Manning. That’s how I started leaning toward the Broncos. Then I realized I loved their jersey colors, the loud fans in the stands, the open-air stadium, the great weather, and the snow... and boom, I found my team.👍

Seahawks - since I worked for a firm based out of Seattle during my second stint following the NFL, the Seahawks were just hitting their prime, and honestly, Russell Wilson is a god. Sadly, I wasn't actually in Seattle while the season was running, so all my photos are just me standing in front of an empty Lumen Field.

My favorites:
- Bears - because of Chicago
- Jaguars - because of Blake Bortles and Good Place
- Vikings - because they’re the perennial losers that make it fun to root for them finally clinching that Super Bowl
- Saints because The south will rise again - because of Drew Brees

Edit: My first phase of following the NFL was back in the 90s when I was just a kid watching games on TV—I think even a few Super Bowls were broadcast on HRT. Like a total glory hunter, I used to pull for the Cowboys because they had such a killer offense, but the Packers title sticks in my mind most of all because the Super Bowl MVP was Desmond Howard from the special teams unit.

Yeah, local stations carried the Super Bowl back in the 90s. If you had satellite, you could catch it on SAT.1 or watch the finals on ARD...

I just stumbled upon this thread, and naturally, we’re talking about the Packers. Ever since I started following the NFL back in 2010, it was always that specific era—no ownership drama, the legendary Lambeau Leap, and a young QB with massive potential flanked by guys like Jennings, Nelson, and even Charles Kuhn (🙏) holding it down at fullback, all while having BJ Raja (🙏 🙏) and Clay 🙏
anchoring the defense.
What an absolute blast that squad was, weren't they? They didn't waste any time either, handing us a Super Bowl right out of the gate. But then mid-season, everything turned into a desperate scramble for the playoffs because after Aaron Rodgers took a concussion, Flynn basically threw himself on a grenade in Boston just to keep things moving, which somehow kicked the Packers' playoff run into gear two weeks earlier than expected 🙏

We’re still pushing forward despite all the traitors and defectors out there, though I didn't want to start some pointless drama on the main thread regarding Uncle ☕

Man, I first got hooked on the NFL - Packers way back in the day, mostly just because of Brett Favre. Fast forward to now and I'm still riding with the Packers, but this time it's all about Aaron Rodgers. Honestly, I've always had a soft spot for guys like Reggie Payton, Randy Moss, and Shannon Faulko... plus the Raiders, too, simply because they're the Raiders.

Looks like nobody voted for the Texans, so I figured I'd step in and defend their honor 😁

I started following the NFL toward the end of two seasons ago, and the Texans caught my eye with that wild defense they had going (even without Watt!). Once Deshaun Watson stepped onto the field at the start of last season, I was pretty much sold.

My second favorite team has to be the Packers just because—Aaron Rodgers 🙂

The Patriots-Packers situation remains unresolved. Based on how people are leaning if they don't have a primary team, it looks like the Packers take the tie-breaker. 😁

Anyone got thoughts on the Giants... even the hardcore fans aren't saying anything 🤣
