Why on earth would anyone hate the Redskins? If I didn't check the scores every single week, Iโ€™d honestly forget they were even in the NFL

He is easily the most disliked owner in the NFL. Heโ€™s completely incompetent. Every media outlet I follow absolutely trashes him, especially the local fans. Now even his own supporters are jumping ship. You can pick up season tickets for next to nothing.

It honestly baffles me that I seem to be the only Raiders fan showing up in this poll, especially since I know there are others lurking around this forum. I suppose theyโ€™re all just too embarrassed to admit their allegiance after such a disastrous start to the season ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
.
I fell down the Raiders rabbit hole about three or four years ago. It wasn't just any team; it was that specific blend of grit and mystique that pulls you in. Iโ€™ve always respected their progressive legacyโ€”like how Al Davis stood his ground back in the day, refusing to stay in hotels that practiced segregation and being ahead of the curve by hiring the first Latino head coach. Theyโ€™ve always had the most diverse fanbase in American sports. Plus, they have that rebellious streak that I can't get enough of: the constant friction with the league, the legal battles, the relocations, the comebacks, even the way they used to play on the infield dirt... Iโ€™m hopelessly hooked on these underdogs, and frankly, there isn't much I can do about it ๐Ÿ˜

GB
Pats
Lions
Vikings
and whatever team that absolute disaster Brock Osweiler is currently playing for...

I get why people feel that way about others, but honestly, why would anyone actually hate these specific teams? ๐Ÿคท
Forgive me if this sounds like a naive question, but Iโ€™m still getting my bearings and learning all the intricate nuances of this sport. ๐Ÿค”

Is there even a single club out there that isn't despised by someone, or is everyone just hated in varying degrees? ๐Ÿค”

Maybe the Cleveland Browns.

It starts with Ray Lewis. He was the face of the franchise for 17 years and remains one of the greatest ever, earning his spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame immediately upon becoming a candidate. He is arguably the finest linebacker since Lawrence Taylor.

The man remains controversial for some due to this specific incident.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Lewis#Murder_trial

Regardless, he was eventually idolized in Baltimore and effectively cleared by the league.

Furthermore, his play was always paired with a larger-than-life persona and motivational speeches that were, frankly, bordering on insane. ๐Ÿ˜

Ultimately, their AFC North style of playโ€”centered on a brutal defense led by Ray Lewisโ€”was never particularly easy to watch. I was lucky enough to start following them when they finally had a competent quarterback, but I can imagine what those games looked like before then. ๐Ÿคฆ

During the 2000 season when they won their first Super Bowl, they somehow managed to go five straight games without scoring an offensive touchdown, though they did win two of them. ๐Ÿคฃ

They also recorded four shutouts where opponents failed to score a single point.

Then, they beat the New York Giants 34-7 in the Super Bowl.

Their quarterback at the time, Trent Dilfer, played so poorly that he didn't hold a starting job for four years afterward, eventually spending just one season with the Cleveland Browns.

In short, it definitely wasn't pretty football.

EDIT: After seven seasons of grinding without massive success, the defense added two more certain Hall of Famers: Ed Reed, who was a great guy, and Terrell Suggs, who was quite problematic during the early part of his career. Then Joe Flacco arrived in 2008, and the rest is history. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Maybe the Cleveland Browns.

Yes, I believe nobody hates the Cleveland Browns except for fans of other teams in the AFC North, and even then, they aren't even top of the list. ๐Ÿ˜

Generally, people don't hate unsuccessful franchises. Why would anyone hate the Detroit Lions? Sometimes I don't even remember they exist.

What are you even talking about? I have spent years dreaming about Super Bowl Rodgers-Brady and seeing Aaron humiliate him in front of the entire world!!!

The people who hate everything good are your coach and management. They are wasting the prime years of the greatest quarterback ever. ๐Ÿ˜ข

Still, I appreciate your statement. It is a nice compliment. ๐Ÿ˜

Patsi.

I've been following things for the last four or five years now. To be honest, the main reason is unknown.

The haters of everything good are clearly the coaching staff and management... they're basically wasting the prime years of one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game. ๐Ÿ˜ข

Still, I actually dig your takeโ€”that was a pretty nice compliment. ๐Ÿ˜

You're pure evil. โ˜•

Anyway, just to weigh in since I'm already on the thread ๐Ÿคฃ, the Green Bay Packers are my team because Wisconsin is my home stateโ€”not that I was born there or live there now, but I spent some very formative years there, let's call them that, and I've always claimed it as home โ˜•. Those nights out on State Street in Madison, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Brewers, hitting up Kopp's at 3 in the morning, the water parks in Wisconsin Dells, camping trips at Devil's Lake, and iiiiiiiiiiii... the Green Bay Packers.

Wisconsin. ๐Ÿ‘‹

Packers. ๐Ÿ‘‹

The Pittsburgh Steelers. Itโ€™s always been a dream of mine to be in Pittsburgh, and honestly, I still find myself dreaming about being there. I've managed to catch about 20 games live, mostly over at Acrisure Stadium.

For me, the holy trinity of sports will always be the Steelers, the Penguins, and the 76ers.

I suppose you could say the New York Jets are my second favorite team.
Since I find myself favoring the Mets over the Yankees, the Nets over the Knicks, and the Islanders over the Rangers, it followsโ€”quite logically, reallyโ€”that the Jets hold more appeal for me than the New York Giants.
Actually, "favor" is far too mild a term to describe my positionโ€” I despise the Yankees, the Knicks, the Rangers, and the Giants. โ˜•

Look, there are certain realities you simply cannot ignore:
https://www.timeout.com/newyork/blog...-in-nyc-081816

8. The Yankees have Jay-Z as a fan. The Mets have Jerry Seinfeld as a fan.
9. The Yankees look sharp. The Mets fans love their beards.
11. Mets fans have Mr. Met. The Yankees are far too cool for a mascot.
12. Yankees fans will drop $500 on a ticket without blinking. Mets fans are essentially bribed to show up with $15 tickets.
4. Yankees fans boast about boasting the highest payroll at $224 million. Mets fans make fun of them for having the highest payroll.

Whatโ€™s your take on the shelf life for this specific quartet: Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, Tom Brady, and Aaron Rodgers? And honestly, who is even stepping up to take their place? Is it guys like Trubisky or maybe Patrick Mahomes... or are we looking at a massive potential crisis on our hands?

I mean, Tom is already pushing fifty, Drew Brees is hitting that milestone in just two months, and let's be real, neither of those two are exactly in their prime anymore either.

Weโ€™ve seen this exact pattern play out in tennis over the last few years.
The "Big Four" era eventually ends, leaving a massive void behind.
But someone always steps up to fill it.
A few years back, Luck looked like a total lock, a guaranteed bet, yet look where things stand now.
Mahomes might be struggling at the moment, but let's hold our horsesโ€”remember how the Chiefs absolutely tore through the league last year?

Look, there are a few guys who actually look decent right now. Carson Wentz was playing out of his mind before he got hurt, Goff has improved a ton under McVay, and Trubisky looks way better than last year. Honestly, the whole league is just losing its mind over Mahomes...
Andrew Luck and Ryan aren't washed yet.

Thereโ€™s always going to be a QB somewhere. Especially since the game is moving toward flag football styleโ€”where throwing for 5,000 yards will be the standard, not some freak occurrence.
