I’ve been pretty MIA from the forum lately, so I’m just now catching up on this thread. 🤦

Cheesehead checking in for anyone still wondering about the vibe here. 😁

It goes way back to the late nineties, when Kelso would end his pre-game hype by shouting "Hello Wisconsin!" while my old man was out there rocking the green & gold gear. That was right around the time we first started getting hooked on the NFL. As the years rolled on—especially once AR arrived—there wasn't even a question anymore. I mean, you say Wisconsin, you say cold, you say winter... I'm sold. Plus, look at the fact that in today's US pro sports, the idea of a fan-owned team in a small market actually survives. Between the mythos of Lambeau and seeing that tradition play out in the details, the only thing I can compare it to is Wimbledon and stuff like that. Unfortunately, I have to agree with a lot of the posts here about wasting time with maybe the greatest QB of all time. The front office and MM just haven't stepped up to his level.

..there's this interesting piece on ESPN lately about what would've happened if Rodgers had Bill Belichick coaching him instead.. 🤣 🤣

New Orleans Saints.
Who Dat?

There are a few reasons, actually.
The city itself—New Orleans has always been one of those places in the USA that I've dreamed of visiting. Between the deep history, the vibrant culture, the music, and just that general vibe... it feels like the kind of place where I'd truly fit in.

Then, I got hooked on the NFL.
And wouldn't you know it, I discovered the city has an NFL team with an incredibly cool name. Plus, their uniforms and helmets are just awesome—that classic Black & Gold look. And let's not forget the fans; they are loud, energetic, and just a little bit wild.
That was really all it took.

Steelers. Since I actually got into hockey before I even started following football, I didn't really want to overthink my choice, so I just went with something local... You know, the Steel City. 😁

And that Super Bowl 1997 was something else. I think it was Purcell and Bledsoe for the Patriots. That was the first Super Bowl I stayed up all night watching.

COLTS

Ever since that 2006 season back when I used to catch the games on local TV, I’ve been completely hooked on Peyton Manning, and honestly, Reggie Wayne won me over too.

Broncos 😁

Back when I first got into the NFL—especially during dry spells like this one—I used to binge those old classic games. It just clicked for me: seeing Elway at QB, then moving on to Manning, watching that defense hold strong until the snow falls in the Rocky Mountains... I was hooked 😎

Between all the constant comparisons to the local political machine, their total dominance over everything, and a dozen other factors that haven't quite managed to make me sick of them yet... if Dina Radja doesn't get out of that Patriots sweatshirt soon, I am officially cutting all ties with Boston.

Unlike >, I don't really have one single favorite club. Right now, I'm leaning toward the New England Patriots because of everything they've pulled off over the last 20 years, including TB. But honestly, once he's gone, I'm not sure. I was drawn to the Steelers back when they were playing in the Super Bowl (can't remember which one), and my buddy Snoop pulls for them too. I also found myself rooting for the Falcons just because of Atlanta. I don't know, it's tough to commit to just one team. Then you've got the Baltimore Ravens, who I like because of their history and that gritty, hard-hitting style of play. The Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers are interesting, too. Whatever, for now, I'm just enjoying the NFL.

I can't quite remember, was there an HKS press conference or something where Deboš showed up wearing a Patriots shirt?🙏

I’m in the same boat—no single team that feels like "the one," but I do have some respect for:

The Patriots—they're absolute machines, you have to respect that.

Green Bay—the lone sociopaths from a relatively small town, plus Rodgers...

New Orleans—just love the combo of the city, the logo, and those colors.

The Chiefs—that offensive firepower with Mahomes is something else.

I'm right there with you. There are so many interesting teams out there that picking just one is nearly impossible. The Chiefs are wild... seeing what Gruden could pull off with the Raiders would be something to watch. Honestly, the whole league is great to follow right now. I bet on games every weekend, which just adds a little extra spice to watching them.

It’s been quiet in this thread for quite a while, but that’s neither here nor there.
I just received a text notification from AT&T stating that as of August 1st, they won't be carrying the Sports Club channels anymore. This is a massive blow because without those channels, we lose the NFL coverage with our local commentators. Even First Down is going off the air...
Does anyone else know if any other providers in the area still offer the Sports Club channels?
I’d honestly hate to have to switch providers entirely, especially since AT&T has fiber optics installed in my neighborhood.
But I certainly wouldn't consider switching back to copper wiring for anything.
I have GamePass, so I guess I'll just watch the NFL with the local commentators or whatever those "hologram" fans are called—whatever Ivković and his crew decide to label them these days.

What can I even say about this?

I’ve probably only followed football for maybe ten years or so, so I’m definitely not some hardcore fanatic. But if I actually had to pick a team to root for, it’d be the Buffalo Bills. Especially after that legendary "Only Buffalo" video and those four straight losses in the championships... honestly, all I want is to finally see the Bills holding that trophy. 🙂

So you're saying there's a connection to Juventus, huh? 😬

Juventus has lost two straight, excuse me? 😁

but if we’re looking at their last 5 finals over the past 20 years where they just choked, then even Bill Gates is losing that argument 🙂
