And here’s the second one.
- How do you add an exponent in Word?

If not, try running a decompile. Hit Start -> Run -> msaccess.exe "drive\path\file name.mdb" /decompile
Was the database running fine before you ran the Compact process? Don't you have a backup copy? 🙂
Zachary Moore56 said:I followed your instructions to a T, but absolutely nothing changed.
I ran the process—it finished, the database opened, I can see all the tables—but honestly, it’s the exact same mess as before.
Benjamin King2 said:It’s likely some corruption within the database itself. Honestly, I have no clue how you're supposed to pin down the exact cause. Try creating a completely blank database and then copy your objects over from an uncompacted version. See if they behave normally or allow editing once they're moved.

Dana Diaz8 said:From what I can tell, you're dealing with two things here:
1. How to ditch the page numbers on the first two pages.
2. How to make a specific page start numbering from whatever number you want.
For the first part, just split your term paper into two sections using a page break at the end of the second page. That first section covers your first two pages, and the second section handles everything else starting from page three (use a continuous section break at the top of page three). Once you've successfully split the doc into two sections—you'll know it worked if you double-click the header or footer—just go ahead and insert page numbers but they'll show up everywhere initially. Since you split the document, just click into that first section and delete the number. If you did it right, those numbers should vanish from the first two pages while staying perfectly intact from page three onwards...
As for the second part, say you don't want page three to actually say "3," but for some reason, you need it to say "15." Just hit "insert page numbers" and look for the "format page numbers" option. A window will pop up where you can select "start at" and just type in your number (in this case, 15).
