Try playing around in Excel if you think it can solve this, because you didn't specify what happens after you actually do it.
What is the actual point of these little blocks anyway?

I’ll try working with what you sent, though I'm hoping I can stretch it across a full sheet of paper and set it up as uniform squares. As for the purpose?! Most of my 3D origami is done purely from memory, but occasionally someone asks me to make something specific and since I'm just winging it, I can't always replicate the result. If I can do this, I could draft a diagram to keep alongside my work; then, when I move on to more complex origami paintings, I'd have a template to draw even more intricate designs and build them later. The layout of the squares is designed specifically to fit how the modules stack, so it follows a wall-like pattern. It is incredibly important to me that I figure this out so I can really dive deep into this hobby.

Thanks for the example; I'm going to try tailoring it to fit my needs.

Hello everyone!

I've been trying to build an Excel formula to multiply three different matrices together, but I just can't seem to get the results to match what's shown in my textbook. I've attached a screenshot of my work—if anyone could take a look and point me in the right direction, I would truly appreciate the help.

So, I used to be using Word 2003, and back then, I had this super handy little shortcut set up for my personal logo—basically, whenever I hit CTRL +2, my logo would just pop right into whatever document I was working on. It was such a lifesaver! But now, I’ve gone ahead and installed Microsoft Office Word 2007, and I’m feeling a bit lost because I can't figure out how to recreate that exact same shortcut. Does anyone happen to know how I can set things up again so that my logo inserts itself automatically when I press CTRL +2? I'd really appreciate it if someone could walk me through it. Thanks so much!

Looks like you lost your Normal.dot settings from your old version of Office, so it's acting up now.
You gotta record a new macro and set CTRL+2 as the shortcut

Open a blank doc, then go to Tab View > Macros > Record Macro
Hit the Keyboard icon immediately—it’ll land you right in the "Press new shortcut key:" box. Just hit CTRL and 2 (btw: check the second pic in that link above)
And obviously, while you're recording the shortcut, make sure you save it to Normal.dotm
(In the Customize keyboard window => Save changes in: Normal)

Now, head over to Insert, find your logo, and drop it in
Go back to Tab View > Macros > Stop Recording

In the end, it should look something like this
code : Sub Macro1()
Sub Macro1()
'Macro1
'
Selection.InlineShapes.AddPicture FileName:= _
"C:\Users\YourAccount\Pictures\logo.jpg", _
LinkToFile:=False, SaveWithDocument:=True
End Sub

Just keep in mind, your logo always needs to be in that exact same folder/pathway
Hope this helps ya out

Hey everyone, just like the title says, I’m trying to figure out how to set things up so my Word docs don't default to color printing anymore—I really need them to just come out black and white by default.

First, you actually need to state what kind of printer you're using. Otherwise, you can just go ahead and Google it yourself. You might get an answer here eventually, but only if you provide some actual details.

In practice, you just head into your printer settings and tell the thing to only use black ink.
So, what exactly are we looking at here? Are you trying to print just the text, or are there images involved too?

Got another quick question—this one should be pretty simple 😁

I've got a cell, say A1, containing a number like 013 (it's either formatted as text or using a custom format for three digits)—the key part is that first zero.

In another spot in my spreadsheet, I have some text, and I'm pulling that number from A1 into the string (using something like ... &TEXT(A1;2) ). The issue is that "013" keeps showing up without the leading zero, and I really need that zero in there 😁

Any help would be appreciated.

You could've just shared an example of what's happening. Honestly, custom format fixes that whole leading zero display issue.
Custom => 0000 (just type as many zeros as you want)

Maybe try something like this:
Just pop this formula into cell B1: =F1&" "&RIGHT(A1,3)

The way it works is pretty straightforward: it grabs whatever text you have sitting in F1, tacks on a space, and then pulls the last three characters from A1, dumping the whole mess into B1.
So, if you’ve already got your data filled out in columns A and F, just grab that formula in B1 and drag it down through all your rows. It’s simple enough, provided the data is actually there.

It's not "....content in columns A and B," it's actually in A and Error.

I'm working on an Excel spreadsheet and I have columns with names longer than 50 characters. If I widen the columns enough to read everything, I'd probably need a 100" monitor just to see all 20 columns at once! 🙂

So, my question is, how can I take a cell like:

"123456789012345678901234567890"

and make it look like this:

"1234567890
1234567890
1234567890"

so the column stays narrow but the text stacks vertically?

Edit: Found it. The option is called "Wrap text"

You can also just hit Alt+Enter whenever you need a new line within a cell...

So, I’ve found myself in quite the predicament with a database where I have both synthetic and analytical accounts, and unfortunately, the system has gone ahead and aggregated all the analytical totals into the synthetic ones... which is exactly what I was trying to avoid, as I really need those synthetic accounts to stop summing up the analytical data... I am looking for a way to just wipe them out—you know, replace them all with zeros—so the synthetic totals stay clean. The catch is, I don't have any specific identifiers or tags left to filter by, since the entire database is basically a blank slate at this point...

Or, to put this in terms for someone who isn't an accountant—how would one go about issuing a command where if the database contains the number 1, but also 10 and 100, it deletes the sums for 1 and 10 while leaving the 100 untouched?...

hmhm... my thanks to you... 🙂

PowerPoint

So, I was wondering how you can set things up so that every slide just stays on screen for, say, 5 seconds, and then the whole presentation just loops back to the start once it hits the last one? Basically, how do I make it run on its own in a continuous loop?

Can anyone lend me a hand here? Thanks in advance! I'm trying to figure out how to change all my Microsoft Office 2007 programs over to American English. I downloaded a few things from the links below, but when I tried running the installer, I kept getting an error saying, "No products on this system are affected by the suite installation package." Here are the links I used: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=35400
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=14813.
Could someone give me a quick rundown on how to switch the language settings in Office? Much appreciated. And sorry if I'm totally off base with this post—just trying to get things working! :/

😕 Wanna kill off numbers 1 and 10? Just hit Find/Replace. Simple.

You didn't even say which version of PowerPoint you're using. presentation I don't think these links or instructions should give you any trouble with what you're dealing with. Check these out.

- Setting slide duration.
- Self-running presentations. Seriously.

Hey everyone, I need some serious help here 🙂

So, I'm messing around in Microsoft Word and I want to get this specific setup going: I need the page numbering to restart at 1, but starting from page 9. On top of that, I want a custom bit of text sitting in the header...

Basically, if I type something in the header on page 9, I want that text to stay there while the page numbers just keep running continuously through the rest of the document...

Thanks for the links, man.

Check out these Microsoft pages

- Download the language pack
- Language pack for Office 2007

I took a look at those, but I don't see American English listed there. 🤷 Thanks in advance for the help! 🤷
