Honestly, that realization is killing me too. 😠

Plan B cancelled 😢
And honestly? If The Killers and Franz Ferdinand bail on me too, I’m calling this whole festival a total waste of time—which is a damn shame because my time is precious right now.

Who knows—maybe Muse or The Killers will just show up at the last second as some huge surprise set, so I won't even regret not selling my ticket. 🙂

My take on the New Order show: Even though they've lost some of that raw Joy Division energy, New Order proved they still have plenty of reasons to keep fans smiling after all these years.
The first half of the set felt—I don't know—kind of mediocre? It seemed like they hit a ceiling, and Bernie’s vocals were losing some steam and hitting a few flat notes. The crowd was pretty subdued too, so I actually worried people were just counting down the minutes until it ended.
But then, song by song, it was like they finally found their groove and picked up speed.
The audience started really getting into it. They kept dropping hits that honestly sound just as good and fresh today as they ever did.
It was a total blast watching—and especially hearing—the drumming; it was so tight and precise. Seeing Stephen play was impressive, especially knowing he's been at this since the Joy Division days. The bassist did a solid job stepping into Hooky's shoes, and I think the extra guitarist was actually the one keeping the crowd hyped.
The sound quality was great—maybe the low end and kick drum were a little too heavy, but overall it wasn't overwhelmingly loud like some other shows I've been to.
All in all, a really good experience, even if I can't help feeling a bit sad about missing The Cranberries.
Shout out to the folks on the forum who wouldn't take my ticket off my hands—you guys definitely made my night. 😁

🙂

I can't imagine how those two bands could even be mentioned together. As for New Order, they were worth the watch for the sake of musical history, even if they only produced one masterpiece about 30 years ago. 😁

+1

The start was pretty weak, but things finally kicked into high gear after they played Blue Monday. :hopla:

My only gripe? The arrangement of Isolation. They totally killed the best part of that track—that heavy, grinding guitar work.

Honestly, after that absolute mess of a set by Gogol Bordello, listening to a struggling New Order was just... wow, what a nightmare, seriously. I mean, you could tell the singer really wanted to hit those notes, but he just couldn't get there, which was honestly kind of painful to watch! I’m really crossing my fingers that the Mando part and Franz can step up today and actually fix the vibe, because we definitely need a win after that!

It seems some people are trying their best to express themselves in their native tongue, though they're clearly struggling...

The concert was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish—every single second of it.

Good grief...
one of the better Barney releases, honestly. Even without Hooky, New Order is still killer.

As for Gogol Bordello, if you weren't there last night to see Eugene's ass, you might as well just cry about it. Definitely the highlight of the festival.
