Absolutely stellar, truly πŸ‘

But I think it could lean even further into that indie vibe 🍿

But they could definitely lean harder into that indie vibe. 🍿
😁

Sure... Mumford & Sons and Florence + The Machine (she’s got a gap in her tour schedule between June 19th and 25th). That’s actually a realistic set of expectations when you factor in Damien Rice and Belle and Sebastian. πŸ‘

Coachella is basically an indie music heaven this year.

Look, I’ve got nothing against Busted, really, but they felt a bit phoned inβ€”honestly, just as lackluster as Placebo's set.
It was pretty underwhelming if you ask me... especially for a big ten-year anniversary celebration.

Coachella is an absolute indie paradise this year!

If they bring out Frank Turner and Radiohead, I'll be more than happy. 😍

I have to say, I really dig this setup where we post one name every week or two.😁

Man, if they bring out Frank Turner and Radiohead, I'm set. 😍

I actually brought up Radiohead too.
Let's be real, πŸ™‚ I'd be more than happy enough with the current lineup as it stands. πŸ™‚

For the 23rd time...πŸ₯±

On the Coachella website: "The FFS performance (Franz Ferdinand & Sparks) adds even more punch to this year's already incredible Coachella lineup..."

What a ridiculous bit of self-praise... The lineup is actually halfway decent at best right now. It’s like they don't get that draw is all about stacking up massive, popular, and actually relevant names (though you can always throw in those legends like The Rolling Stones or Bruce Springsteen to seal the deal), rather than just piling on indie bandsβ€”regardless of how good they are, which is subjective anywayβ€”or dragging out The Prodigy, who apparently refuse to die, yet somehow keep getting shoved down our throats as a headliner. And people just swallow it. Honestly, I'm part of the problem too. 😁

What a joke, what a complete disaster. The craziest part was how they announced it at the party last night at Pivana in the city, acting like it was some kind of bombshell. It would’ve been one thing if they just added that recycled band back to the lineup without making a big deal out of it... but putting them on as headliners? Give me a break. They peaked a decade ago and haven't done anything remotely relevant since. But sure, we should all feel honored because they’re debuting this FFS project right here. 🀦
Probably the only festival in the worldβ€”maybe besides some local county fair in Scotlandβ€”that would actually book them as headliners out of pure patriotism.
And honestly, if you look at the indie lineup for Coachella (which includes Franz Ferdinand), someone like Nutini is a much bigger deal and is actually at his peak, not winding down.
Long story short: disappointment. And that’s coming from someone who actually listened to and liked Franz Ferdinand back in the day. Now? They're totally irrelevant.

I saw this ridiculous comment of theirs on Facebook that said: "It's been three years since they played here, and now they're performing with a new project, honoring us by launching their world tour right here with us. The guys have shown time and again that they are true friends of the festival and they are the band we wanted most this year. We are so happy this finally happened."

Bolded: What can I even say?

Hopefully they make up for it with Florence + The Machine β˜•

It’s attractive, sure... extremely so, but not quite 😬

😁But if the lineup is only about 60% complete, it's still way too early to judge

The cast looks decent enough for now, but that headliner is a total joke...

Are you talking about that survey they sent out via email?
Well, I didn't write FF anywhereπŸ™‚
Do you honestly think that many people actually picked them? I mean, they aren't even The National🀣

The whole poll thing is just a convenient excuse to dodge accountability. And honestly, where the hell are the actual results anyway? I’m starting to seriously doubt if those people at the top even have a clue what they're doing.

I was just grabbing a beer at the pub last night when I heard the news that Franz Ferdinand is back on the lineup for Coachella πŸ™‚
And honestly, once I actually sat with it for a second, why am I even surprised? It’s been way too long since those guys played a show in the States 😁

To make matters even worse, the legendary Lollapalooza is looking absolutely abysmal this yearβ€”the lineup is a total train wreck. Honestly, the only thing remotely saving them from complete irrelevance is MotΓΆrhead. It feels like every single year, they just sink a little deeper into the gutter.
