Sean Bishop34 said:I really doubt Robert Kubica ends up at Ferrari.

I actually have three specific candidates in mind for that second seat at Ferrari—listed in my order of preference:

Adrian Sutil — his driving talent is undeniable, and he truly deserves a shot with a top-tier team.

Kamui Kobayashi — he’s fast, charismatic, and just great to watch. Since he’s currently with Sauber—and we all know Sauber uses Ferrari engines and they share a pretty close relationship—it’s definitely a possibility.

Nick Heidfeld — he’s reliable, consistent, and incredibly experienced. He doesn't have a confirmed seat for next season, and honestly, I’d love to see him in a Ferrari fighting for titles and wins; he’s certainly earned it.

It all really boils down to what Ferrari is looking for:
- If they want two legitimate title contenders, then they absolutely need to bring in Robert Kubica...
- If they're hunting for a solid number two driver, then it depends on whether Adrian Sutil would accept that role. If he does, he's the guy—if not, then it's Heidfeld...
One thing I really wouldn't want to see is Kamui going there just to play second fiddle. I'd much rather see him driving without any restrictions in a powerhouse team. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Sauber becomes more competitive next year...

I’m calling it now: Kamui Kobayashi is going to be behind the wheel at Red Bull 🙏

If I'm not mistaken, he's already signed on with Sauber

But after watching what Kamui pulled off today, that contract could change in a heartbeat.👍
Especially if there's serious money on the table..

I get the feeling Red Bull is looking for "exciting" drivers, if you catch my drift.🙂
After all, their whole thing is "red Bull gives you wings," right?

In my opinion, Vettel and Button aren't exactly the dream duo (between the collisions, the lack of professionalism at times, and how much they can't stand each other..)

Even if Kamui Kobayashi were to receive an offer from another team, I honestly believe he’s locked in with Switzerland for next year. He doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who would just walk away from the people who gave him his big break in Formula 1—and I'm talking about a full season here, not just a couple of races, even though he would have been driving for Toyota if they hadn't pulled out...

Where’s mistybear87 hiding? He hasn't posted in forever!

Anyway, what’s the vibe on this last page? Any wishes or shoutouts?
Rosberg is seriously underrated in this thread. People are constantly taking shots at him, yet he's consistently outperforming basically everyone else in the "rest of the field" category. Sure, maybe he isn't quite on Robert Kubica's level yet, but the guy is steady and always hunting down those points. If that drought from Ross Brawn finally breaks and they realize who their actual lead driver is, we might see a real title contender coming out of Mercedes-Benz next year!

Now that is what I call a king!

The only one who actually kept things interesting today!
I honestly think Ferrari overestimated what Red Bull could pull off. If they had gone all-out right from the jump, they might have snatched up a few more podium spots! As for Felipe, I’m at a loss for words—it’s pretty clear that the US GP just isn't his race.

I have a feeling Ferrari might have overestimated what Red Bull was capable of. If they had gone for a more aggressive strategy right out of the gate, who knows? They might have snatched up a few more positions. As for Felipe Massa, I'm honestly at a loss for words; it seems like US Japan 10.10.2010 just wasn't his race.

or maybe just less engine power 😬

Edward Howard2 said:I still think he's the best driver on the grid right now, even compared to Alonso.

So basically, you're saying he's just 3rd or 4th best—since there's no way Alonso isn't the top guy.

The real best drivers don't spend their time whining over the team radio because their teammate beat them out.

Felipe suffered his first DNF of the season, which is quite a shift from his usual consistency. Up until this point, he’s managed to see the finish line every single time, finishing in the points twelve times—though he did go through a bit of a dry spell from the USA to UK where he failed to score three races in a row. It almost feels like he has a magnetic attraction to Liuzzi's Force India; he ended up collecting it at the first turn for the second time this year following the United States Grand Prix.

🙏

That stat caught me off guard.

Felipe isn't exactly the star of the show, but he does finish his races.

While Felipe isn't exactly grabbing the headlines, he consistently manages to cross the finish line...

It’s basically Nick Heidfeld squared.

It wasn't "apparently." I was watching it on German TV.
I still don't know what actually caused it, though. Haven't bothered to look.

Last year during the final MotoGP race, Casey Stoner had a similarly bizarre exit during the warm-up lap. If I recall correctly, Stoner was running on Bridgestone tires back then.
Hard to believe, especially if you're pulling for them, but hey—it happens.

I'm still not entirely sure what caused it, though I haven't gone looking for the specifics yet.

It’s hard to wrap your head around, especially if you're rooting for them, but I suppose that's just how racing goes sometimes.

Wasn't there some kind of collision about a year ago? I think either McLaren or Minardi was involved, if my memory serves me right.🙏

Well, there was footage of his crash on the official broadcast right after Blazicko and Novak took over the feed... you could see it clearly on the US broadcast and they even explained we'd be one driver short on the grid...

I actually just flicked the TV on right as the lights went out, so I missed the whole thing.😬
