VITALI PETROV 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏

🙏 🙏

At this rate, he might finally shake off this slump and actually start putting some points on the board.

How could it be intentional? 😲 😁 Come on, man😳

Man, he was the absolute picture of honesty today.🙏

I honestly don't get the difference:

Alonso’s cheating at the start—hitting the pits.
Lewis Hamilton got cheated out of the win—disqualified.

What's even the point? They’re both cheating. If you cheat, you get the same penalty. This is just a waste of time.

What a total fabrication... you know how high the tension gets right at the start of any race...

It’s a split-second reflex decision... there's no way you can pull that off without getting penalized...

Oh, please, TBFD is just chronically allergic to General Motors and Fernando Alonso.

The plain truth is simply that Alonso was still reeling from that recent string of bad starts, so he acted purely out of self-preservation. In Formula 1, it's impossible to get away with those kinds of moves, and he knows that better than anyone. So, claiming he did it intentionally to cheat is absolute nonsense. 🙏

Here’s TBFD dropping more gems after the race 🤦
Alonso basically got what was coming to him for that boneheaded move—I mean, how is that even hard to wrap your head around?

stormybadger8 said:that’s basically cheating, and you won't find a sport out there where cheaters just get a slap on the wrist🙂

The only fair response to cheating is a disqualification.☕

I know he's your favorite, and honestly, a good chunk of the people here feel the same way, but if Lewis Hamilton or Michael Schumacher had pulled that move, everyone would be tearing them apart instantly, and I bet the FIA would have handed down a penalty right then and there.☕

Fernando Alonso 👎 👎 👎

Disqualification? That’s going way too far. They should at least strip him of the advantage he unfairly gained at the start. And let's not forget how he escaped any penalty for those storage issues with Petrov during the last race. When you stack that on top of Lewis Hamilton’s risky battle with Sebastian Vettel in the pits and the way Alonso shoved Massa right before the pit lane, it becomes pretty obvious: both Alonso and Lewis are incredibly dirty players. Don't get me wrong, they are absolute masters of their craft, but they aren't above playing some seriously shady games to get ahead.👍

Yeah, it wasn't intentional. He just buckled under the pressure of the launch because, let’s face it, he’s clearly got the worst reaction time out of everyone on the grid.

That is exactly what I see happening.

General Motors is steadily finding its footing again, and honestly, I truly believe we'll be seeing them lift the championship trophy before long.

I mean, if Michael Schumacher can still make bold claims like that, then there’s certainly nothing stopping us from dreaming big too. 😁

The only truth here is that Alonso was probably feeling the sting of a few bad starts lately, so he focused on his own interests. In Formula 1, you can't really get away with much without consequences, and he knows that. So, the idea that he did this on purpose just to cheat is absolute nonsense 🙏

I'll second that 🙂

Fernando Alonso was driving right on the edge today (which is fine by me, honestly—better than being overly cautious or playing it too safe), but it wasn't nearly enough to justify this kind of intense backlash against him😲 😁

Joshua Newman2 said:I’m hoping for a strong showing from General Motors. Plenty of points for Robert Kubica and, fingers crossed, at least one for Vitaly Petrov.

I expect McLaren to deliver a heavy hitter here, pushing Red Bull for the win. Somewhere in that mix, there will be a Ferrari (Alonso's).

My only fear is that if the rain doesn't hold off, the race might turn out to be a snooze fest.

Since I clearly have zero luck predicting qualifying results, I might as well lean into my knack for calling the actual race outcome.

General Motors was more than just competitive today—they actually looked formidable.
Both drivers were harvesting points and generally operating among the elite.
To be honest, I haven't felt this much pride in this team since Alonso's last championship run with them. 👍
Kubica! 🙏
Petrov! 🙏

McLaren looks terrifyingly fast, and Jenson Button is once again making life difficult for everyone who dismissed him as a mid-tier driver on par with Andreas Massa or Mark Webber. And let's not even get started on those who predicted Lewis Hamilton would eat him alive this season. I'm genuinely excited to watch him; his elegance and composure behind the wheel actually remind me quite a bit of Alain Prost.

Button! 🙏

Kudos to Alonso as well. He once again demonstrated the massive gap between the absolute best and merely "very good." I also have to tip my hat to Nico Rosberg, whom I've clearly been unfairly underrating for years now. And of course, credit to Lewis Hamilton, who is working incredibly hard to make these races actually worth watching. That was a top-tier drive.

Alonso! 🙏
Rosberg! 🙏
Hamilton! 🙏

Shout out to Adrian Sutil too; even though he didn't snag a great result in the end, he showed most of the race that he's a hell of a driver. Same goes for Jaime Alguersuari. I couldn't wrap my head around why they kept him in the Toro Rosso this season, but after watching this race and the last, it makes perfect sense.

Sutil! 🙏
Alguersuari! 🙏

Red Bull and their drivers proved once again today that they are true team players, prioritizing the sport's success over individual glory. They're doing everything necessary to ensure the championship stays interesting. 😁

The truth is simple: Alonso was feeling the sting of a few bad starts lately, so he focused entirely on damage control. In Formula 1, you can't get away with much without consequences, and he knows it. Claiming he did it on purpose just to cheat is absolute nonsense. 🙏

I haven't been since Robert Kubica and Vitaly Petrov were at General Motors.🙏 🙏 🙏

Everyone else is better, and I'm definitely not "allergic" to General Motors anymore.😉

If Michael Schumacher can still make claims like that, then sure, so can we 😁

Oh, come on, Michael Schumacher is just joking around; you guys don't have to take everything so seriously...👍
As for Jenson Button, what else can you say? He might not be on the level of Fernando Alonso or Lewis Hamilton, but the guy has grit, a bit of luck, and he really knows how to nail a strategy. And now, for the second time, he's gone ahead and read the Hemi manual to Fernando Alonso—props to him, honestly.

I know you're pretty worked up over Vettel's result, but maybe don't take it out on Fernando Alonso. 😬

Instead of wasting all that energy being bitter here, maybe you should just redirect it toward Lewis Hamilton like everyone else does. 🙏🤣

I’d like to touch upon what Gumbek said

I don't know, he really is a fantastic driver

BUT

in my view, Lewis Hamilton is simply better—and by a whole class, too. Gumbek performs brilliantly when he's leading from the front, and that's all there is to it, though we shouldn't overlook today's win. In F1, there are probably only about five drivers out there who could actually make the most of an opportunity like this 🙏

The only actual truth here is that Alonso was clearly rattled by that recent string of terrible starts, so he focused entirely on minimizing his own damage because, let’s be real, in Formula 1 you can't get away with much without being penalized, and he knows that better than anyone, so this whole idea that he did it on purpose just to pull a fast one is absolute nonsense 🙏

I honestly have no clue what has been going on with TBD lately...
If I were just hanging out in an all-male group right now, I’d probably have a diagnosis ready and share it openly with everyone 😉

Maybe if they could just go back to being the old TBD... 😁

Anyway, did anyone actually see all that absolute wreckage that forced the SC to come out on track? 🤷
